Gloucester v Ospreys </div>

Venue: Ricoh Arena, Coventry Date: Saturday 28 March Kick-off: 1430

Gloucester are without ex-All Black Carlos Spencer, who is cup-tied after playing for Northampton in the EDF Energy Cup group stages.

Ryan Lamb will start at fly-half for the Cherry and Whites.

The Ospreys prefer Jamie Nutbrown to Mike Phillips at scrum-half for Saturday&#39;s EDF Energy Cup semi-final clash against Gloucester.

Gavin Henson fills in for injured full-back Lee Byrne and Jonathan Thomas&#39; recurring groin problem rules him out.

Mike Tindall and Marco Bortolami return from Test duty for the Kingsholm side while wing James Simpson-Daniel is fit again.

Ospreys boss Sean Holley said: "Saturday&#39;s game marks the start of a huge month for us as we look to keep alive our involvement in three competitions.

"It&#39;s going to be a difficult period in terms of rugby, but it&#39;s an exciting time, everything we&#39;ve done as group over the last eight months or so has been geared towards being in contention on three fronts come the end of March, and here we are."

Holley added: "The EDF trophy has done a lot for us. It has put us on the map with our English and European counterparts. It shows we can go to the home of English rugby and win a major competition.

"When we set our targets at the start of the year, we wanted to be in all competitions at this point of the season and we&#39;ve achieved that.

"You reassess your goals and I don&#39;t think the group has changed their views."

Gloucester head coach Dean Ryan said: "The EDF tends to get parked for a number of weeks and here we are back in the semi-finals and these are the games that we&#39;re looking for when you get the quality of the opposition like the Ospreys.

"We&#39;ve got to go to a football stadium, an unknown to both of us, and we&#39;ve got to get a result and hopefully put ourselves in the final.

"You&#39;ve got to look at how you can beat them. They&#39;re a side that offer you so much threat you&#39;ve got to be good at just about everything.

"With some sides you can say if we can cope with this we can cope with the majority of their pressure. But the Ospreys have threat all over the field and we need to be good at pretty much all aspects of the game to give ourselves a chance."

Route to the semi-final:

Gloucester beat Wasps, Newport Gwent Dragons and Newcastle in their group to reach the semi-final.

Ospreys came through the group stage with wins over Harlequins and Worcester to book their place in the last four.

Gloucester: Morgan; Balshaw, Tindall (capt), Allen, Simpson-Daniel; Lamb, R Lawson; Dickinson, Azam, Somerville, W James, Brown, Strokosch, Hazell, Delve.
Replacements: S Lawson, Nieto, Bortolami, Qera, Cooper, Barkley, Watkins.

Ospreys: Henson; Bowe, Parker, Bishop, Williams; Hook, Nutbrown; P James, Hibbard, A Jones, Gough, Lloyd, Smith, Holah, R Jones (capt).
Replacements: Bennett, Griffiths, A-W Jones, Tiatia, Phillips, Biggar, Spratt.

It&#39;s nice to see Hibbard back so quickly after his &#39;tripping up on thin air&#39; incident a few weeks ago. This should be a cracker, could be in for a titanic battle at no 8 between Jones and Delve. No diving please Azam lol.

From a Glos point of view I couldnt care less about this game or the competition. How do the Ospreys view this game and comp? This is nothing to do with the fact that I think we will get stuffed as its away from our beloved Kingsholm(and the appalling Dickenson is back in at prop ahead of the very usefull Nick Wood. Dean Ryan go now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it isn&#39;t our full team out, I think with an eye on the Munster game, so we&#39;re resting a couple of players. CUZ THAT&#39;S WORKED SO f***IN WELL FOR WELSH TEAMS THIS SEASON!!!!
Personally, I&#39;d like us to win and play well today. I think I need it for my sanity.

Yeah right we have Tindall fresh back from guiding England to their impressive achievement of 2nd in the 6nations. How can the Ospreys compete with that? Wales were only two places away from the wooden spoon they used to so cherish.

Henson giving a penalty away and throwing a hospital pass to Ikkul in the first 5 minutes. Not looking too good after being shown up by BOD in Cardiff.

3 - 0 Glaws.

more likely to be overly strict on the Ospreys, always the way in the ML when we don&#39;t have neutral refs.

An Tarbh

right option from Hook, just a tad much on the kick.

Sir Speedy

Tommy Bowe looking dangerous as always. One of those cross kicks is going to come off during the game and Glaws will be in trouble.

Shows how worthless these games are:

Not at all a spectacle.
Half arsed play by both teams.
Injuries to key players for both teams.

Watched the Ospreys game earlier & i think that&#39;s the worst ever performance by the Ospreys. Countless amount of turnovers, knock-ons, aimless offloads & lineouts going wrong. The backs didn&#39;t have much clue on how to play rugby.

I know that its the first time they got a match in a while, but they shouldn&#39;t be dreadful.

Gloucester where very lucky to win the game, Ospreys just never took they&#39;re chances.

At least they can&#39;t preform as bad again.....surely not?

Great win for Glaws againt the odds. Heroic and also very smart defence throughout . Poor backing up from the supporting players cost the Ospreys a few tries but for me the battle at the breakdown was a no-contest in our favour. Holah looks a shadow of the guy I saw last year home and away. Phillips would be more at home in the back row as he is not a scrum half at the top level and Tiatia, RETIRE!!!!!!!!.
Morgan for England and onwards to a pointless Twickenham day on the ****.

It&#39;s all planned I say! Ospreys decided to do the reverse of last year, loose in the EDF, knock Munster out of Europe..........................

Ok, maybe not. Was a pathetic display today where some players looked disinterested, the others trying too hard. They need a kick up the backside, as they should have easily put that game away in the first half.

On a side note, I felt sorry for Henson for the first time today, he looked a beaten man in the shot of him sitting on the floor taking his boots off. He knows that&#39;s the Lions dream gone now and it&#39;s just about the end of his season (where he&#39;s played what, 10 games alltogether)? Hope Lee Burnes back for the Munster clash, as we have no real cover at 15 bar moving Hook there and starting Biggar.

Fair play Danny, on the day Glos deserved to qualify. Not that they did anything at all, we were just.... Well actually no word in the English language can accurately describe our performance. It wasn&#39;t even rugby. I&#39;m so embarrassed by how we played.
You&#39;re right, defence was excellent and breakdown you were all over us, I thought Tindall especially was great in this respect!
Holah I thought had a decent game, bar the Betsen, and I&#39;m afraid Filo can never be criticised for anything.
Been in Spoons all night - love the BBC coverage of highlights on 24 - our game the Balshaw intercept, fair enough. The Cardiff game - that Northampton centre&#39;s try in the corner......... Who won that game again?? :bravo:

Really Bad Display from the Ospreys, made the breaks alot, just got turned over far to many times. Fairly, Gloucester took every chance which came their way, and kept that scoreboard ticking over, its a semi final after all. Gutted for Henson, is that Spratt really a fullback? he looked abit slow to be one, looked more like a crash ball centre.

Don&#39;t go getting too cocky danny, if Glaus play like they did against the Ospreys in the final, the Blues will win easily. The Blues don&#39;t start panicking if they don&#39;t score a try from the initial break, they keep their composure and grind out the try if needs be. That was the Ospreys downfall on the weekend, they threw too many stupid offloads to anywhere. Though I have to salute Gloucesters good scramble defense (their first up defense was poor though) and their superiority ruck time.

Overall, I wasn&#39;t too impressed with Gloucester, they were just better than an appalling Ospreys!

Thank you for keeping this alive. Actually I quite agree. If the Blues game at Twickers is anything like the Kingsholm one we will struggle to match them physically. Although the return of Delve and Qera will certainly help in that department. It will also be interesting to see Robinson play against his new employers for next season.

Just thought Id bring this thread and the fine result back as not surprisingly our Ospreys fans have gone very quiet on this one. Glaws 17 Ospreys 0.[/b]

NO its a waste of time and effort if Im being honest but if you had supported a club like Gloucester that hardly ever win anything then you have to cling to what ever you can get. Sad I know!

Really Bad Display from the Ospreys, made the breaks alot, just got turned over far to many times. Fairly, Gloucester took every chance which came their way, and kept that scoreboard ticking over, its a semi final after all. Gutted for Henson, is that Spratt really a fullback? he looked abit slow to be one, looked more like a crash ball centre.[/b]
A crash ball centre is exactly what he is... Just we only have one full back in our entire squad, who happens to be injured. So it&#39;s down to Holley who he decides through in at the deep end whenever Byrne can&#39;t make a match.
I&#39;m going for Ian Gough for the Munster game.

Can someone tell me... Was this a good game or not? I was so busy drinking Magners in Coventry Welshs clubhouse (and not getting to the Ricoh until 10 minutes before kickoff of SF2) that I completely missed it!

It was a pretty full on game but not as entertaining as the 2nd semi-final.

Come on Danny, don&#39;t be coy. It was absolutely useless. You did the right thing in staying in and getting hammered Mite.

I drove all the way to Coventry to watch this, you know. It was raining and also freezing cold.

You guys just watched it on TV...

I realise that, but I had to get the frustration acorss somehow, and I, erm, felt that posting there and bumping the topic and probaly getting on everybody&#39;s nerves was the best way to do that.
