Wow. I didn't see that coming.

I hate it how Mario tried to keep assuring us that it was still coming out on time, even when he would have known it wouldn't be.

kaftka

He didn't keep assuring us of anything. He said that as far as he knows.....

He always said it was subject to change.

Fair play. Mario was ALWAYS non commital, he always said it was subject to what SIDHE said, and if it needs delaying, it needs delaying.

It might involve a wait but I suspect it will be very much worth the while.

M-Time

He frequently reiterated that the game's release date was still set for September even though it would have been painfully obvious that it was indeed going to be pushed back.

St Helens RLFC

But he didn't say it was definitely going to be released in September. If it makes the game better, I'm all for it.

Hopefully it will make the game better.

wouldnt you think with the game "coming out late 2005" that they may as well delay it to coincide with the start of season 2006? that way the game wont be out of date the minute its released.

Ripper

The thing is, and im not ragging on Mario (I probably am but...) He refused to even listien to the notion of the game being delayed.

If this means they can include Left Footed Kickers and actually have the players age in the Franchise Mode (that could be the killer for the Mode this time round) Ill be happy.

guess this means a late october to november release or even later maybe around christmans time. Hopefully this means they might update the roosters to the 2006 season with the extra time they have. On the bright side maybe a demo will be released now that the game has been pushed back a bit.

I reckon we should have a demo as some sort of comforter of our disapointment. I only now stopped crying over the news.

screw you mario

its great having developers on the forums

there no point being there if your going to lie, or avoid the black n white questions

be in hiding until the game hits the shelves

make ur deadlines and stop posting

FFS this is poor form

even after you re-iterated september for so long

Rugby Challenge now takes the front seat

And if NRL2 is delayed till late 2006 - what Christmas again??...put joey in warrington now!!!

I can assume the melbourne cup challenge will be delayed aswell

You have tried to protect urselves against the EA ploy of bad release dates - Yet u have failed in that, giving a range of timeframe and still couldnt deliver

We'd rather have a delayed concrete date - than a delayed estimate again!!!

Late 2005 pffffffffffffft.........thats a joke

a. cricket season
b. summer
c. by the time we get hyped up for the 2006 season - we'll be playing with 2005 rosters

I agree 100% delay the game till 2006 season - update the rosters, jerseys and schedule - and include anything else you may scrap just to make the late 2005 deadline

You still seem to have trouble understanding the fundamental difficulties and uncertainty of game development. There is no such thing as a concrete date, delayed or otherwise, unless you are the type of developer/publisher who is prepared to compromise your product by releasing it regardless of any issues you may be aware exist.

As I have contended all along, September was an estimated window and up until very recently we were on track to hit that window. We have decided to continue development to ensure the game reaches its potential Given we made that decision yesterday and informed the forums within hours of making that decision, I'd say that actually we have been quite proactive in informing our customers what the situation is.

I seem to remember you being very vocal last time about how we should have taken more time to work on the game. Now we make that hard decision, and it seems that isn't good enough either. You want a definite release date, but aren't even happy when we shift our estimated window. You want definitive answers to black and white questions that haven't even been resolved yet.

Feel free to continue your ranting - just bear in mind it isn't constructive at all.

no kidding its not constructive - I know it isnt, i am frustrated

there's alot of things unconstructive with regards to this thread and game

so why dont we all get demolishing and bashing and self destruct

This game coming out in the middle of the cricket season FFS

I have every right to be disgruntled and this has been paid, done and dusted...nearly a full year till i receive it.....now that aint right, and nobody has to tell me otherwise

Just so you are aware, everybody here at Sidhe is frustrated too. Obviously, we would have liked to have hit our original estimates as well, but things haven't panned out that way.

Everybody here is still working hard to make sure we deliver the best game we can, so do please consider we are making every effort on behalf of the fans.

I am sure lots of fans are disappointed with the delay I know I was when i found out. this game though is not the first to suffer a delay and almost every game that is released misses the estimated release date. I don't think SIDHE will be happy at missing their september window either and will be doing everything in their power to get it released as quickly as possible.

Meah, at least Mario never gave a semi-definite date, makes the delay less annoying.

However I am a little annoyed that $100 is now sitting in Gamesmans account instead of mine.

Ripper
06-09-05, 04:49 AM
You get it for PC or PS2 JJ?

They (Gamesman) just dropped the PC price to 73.95 over the last 2 or 3 days, PS2 cost stays the same.

But then again the PC Version doesnt come with a free controller, probably a reason why.

yeah ripper i noticed that gamesman price a few days ago for the pc version. I am pretty sure other places have similar deal like gameplanet.co.nz na dse.co.nz. bit of a bummer there jj hopefully you and many others that pre-ordered won't have to wait to much longer for the game to come out

NOTE in the other thread, my comment about extroting pre-orders was rubbished as their was no delay etc etc etc...

and whollah!!! There is a delay.....

My pre-paid, pre-order is a gift......now that date is september 17....but what is the release date now?

Exactly.

all this, "he didn't say it would be EXACTLY" etc....is ass-licking bullcrap of the highest and most unforgiveable order.

What about:

"Your friend is wrong. There is no delay".

Take that quote and smoke it.

Yep, that is one of 22 quotes that I can damn Mario with......but proving that mario misled and does not deserve to show his face around here from here on in is a waste of time as it is so painfully obvious that the morons or sychophantic suck-asses who believe it have no right to a say anyway.

Don't worry ak47, nothing you have said even borders on exaggeration. mario - you should be ashamed, especially now that you are hiding behind corporate jingoism and commercial nonsensities. Stop embarrassing yourself.

Hey, AK! Bowled out oz for 50 the other night in a test - wahooooooooooo!!! (wrong topic - sorry).

I can see both points of the argument, SIDHE want to provide the best possible product, however the question really needs to be answered as to why SIDHE left this recent meeting regarding the release timeframe till well into the initial release period??

Surely August at the latest was the time to make some sort of final decision??

People are always going to jump to conclusions when this announcement coincides with the controller promotion ending, more official screenshots/vids/previews/reviews are not released (like most developers do close to release), and when developers tell punters that Sept release is still on (as late as last week) when the chances of that being the case then were probably less than 50%............

esoj
06-09-05, 06:09 AM
I don't think anybody can predict the future not even mario or the guys at SIDHE. Something obviously came up in testing or otherwise that has cause the game to be delayed. And to say Mario planned this is a joke no game development company in the world would say something about a game when they knew already that it would be delayed. this is the world of video game development where delays and last mintue changes are part of the proccess. If Mario and SIDHE had planed the delay why say the game would release in september in the first place.

kaftka
06-09-05, 06:12 AM
Jesus christ Lover, Mario takes his time to come here, and bring us updates and answer questions on his new game, and you take all the negative things and multiply them greatly. You and AK. He doesn't have to come here.

And on the release date, I've already said, he never knew exactly when it will come out, he also thought there wouldn't be a delay. There was, he didn't know there would be one at the time. These things happen. So stop being such a stuck-up little jafa, and accept that it happened, and it is nobodies fault, and the only one who is being an arse is you.

Ripper
06-09-05, 07:22 AM
I can see Los Lovers point, I made it on the previous page as well. Mario refused to even acknowledge the notion that the game might be delayed, everytime anyone even mentioned the words "Rugby League 2" and "Delayed" in a single post he was there, quick as a flash to shoot it down.

Meh, Either way, no skin off my nose. Cant be arsed pre-ordering it, this delay just gives me more time to replienish my funds, Im unemployed until November 22nd (Date of my Last Exam), when I can start my new job as a fully certirfied professional Plum Picker.

esoj
06-09-05, 07:31 AM
I think mario did that because at the point in time the game was still on track for a september release. Something has come up that has caused the delay to the game and nobody not even Mario knew the game would be delayed until they made that decision a few days ago.

kaftka
06-09-05, 07:31 AM
Yeah, I see his point as well, but he's explaining it like a prat.
He just can't seem to understand that these things happen, and it was in no way Marios 'fault' or done dliberately.

Hey I'm with most of you guys in understanding that game development is a process that can cause many factors to change, and I do believe that Los Lover is an egomaniac fool, only after that last post of his. Even a guy as sure of his opinions as he, should at least retract SOME of what he posted. Come on Los, for once in your posts be wrong about something, your not perfect, nobody is. How dare anyone say that because some don't agree with his opinion, we don't deserve our own?

Now here is the one point I agree with Los and AK over. Why on earth can't Sidhe/HES tell the public it's going to be FEB/MAR 06 (season start) at the start and then if it develops according to their REAL estimate of SEP 05, then surprise us all with a miraculously early finals time gift?

Instead they do it the the other way! I know there were no promises, but, isn't the best way to do business with clients to under-promise and over-deliver on expectations? The response would be one of absolute praise, instead of whats happened above.

I do believe that Mario has tried his best to inform this forum, but obviously his skills in business communications are a hell of a lot better than his PR skills from time to time.
I do enjoy your info Mario, but I would have said, "this game still looks set for September release, although if the things that CAN go wrong with development do, then we could be looking at some months longer. It's a real possibility, no question. Don't hold us to anything, we're doing all we can".

Thats more responsible than the communication delivered.

Still, let's let bygones be bygones and hope that the best game in rugby history will be the result of all this.

If you originally set the release date too far away you risk the public losing interest in the game. Just wondering wasnt RL1 released like December 10 or something, just in time for Christmas? I think that could be on again.

yeah i guess they weigh up a few things

a. we missed rugby league season
b. Christmas is the next peak
c. await till 2006 season - but that means update rosters etc

i guess coz they missed mark1, they are hellbent on mark2 being Christmas for the peak season of gaming - problem with that is it not league peak, and has alot of competition on the shelves like pes and other titles due before Christmas

the ashes keeps me coming back to blic, for more sessions http://www.therugbyforum.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

league on the other hand will sit and collect bbq juice and zinc until march comes around - although i guess its peak season in the uk but whats the point when the uk doesnt even know it exists or is in development

all will be quickly forgiven if its a true beast http://www.therugbyforum.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif

I do praise the efforts of communication from sidhe/hes - yet i guess frustrated of the inconsistency of these communications - they set a standard but only for good news

In gaming - No news is very bad news.......thats my take on the situation now i have been able to sleep on it http://www.therugbyforum.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif

dont blame mario. when i did work experiance at the stamford hotel, (5 star) the first thing they told us is dont talk to the media. mario has gone out of his way to talk to us, and all weve done is give him ****. mario cannot be held accountable to sidhes actions. hes done his best to dampin negative comments. they did say september, so then that might have ment late september, meaning, we would have been waiting a while anyway...

Yeah...............give Mario some credit. He doesn't owe us anything so when he comes on here he is doing us a favour.

Let us be thankful that we are having oval ball titles coming out regularly now. There are still sports out there that have NO gaming option for their fans. Imagine if the status quo for oval ball games was Madden ONLY!

The complexity of the gaming industry with its cut throat competition means it is a risk everytime a developer decides to create a league or rugby title. Especially considering how complex the 2 sports are to emulate into a console game. With a limited worldwide market and knowing that the US does not buy into these 2 sports means any developer attempting a league or rugby title needs to make SURE they have a Quality product. I am sure this is why Mario and Sidhe have considered delaying until they believe they have a winner.

Otherwise we here at TRF would cream them. And our opinion is very slowly gatheringa bit of weight with the rugby and league gaming industry.

hard to say if there is one problem or more but whatver th situatio it has caused SIDHE and HES to the delay the game beyond the september window. and adding to that late 2005 covers the rest of year basically and the game could come out in october and not christmas like doomsayers like ak47 think. It all depends how long it takes to fix the problem that caused the game to be delayed and until we receive further communcitation we can only speculate. At least I have blic and some other games to keep me occupied while I wait for this game to come out

So with Retirements, does this mean that players age? and when they retire does the game generate new players to replace them? or does the player pool just dwindle down?

esoj
07-09-05, 11:25 AM
yeha players do age an retire at varying ages from around 30 onwards. Not entirely sure about what happens after they retire but I think from a post mario made on the official forums that a new unknowen player is generated so that the player pool doesn't go down to much. I am not 100% sure though so either mario can answer or try searching on the official forums

well the new madden and tiger woods will tie me over the spring

then i got pes5 on the cards

not all is lost with gaming - the seasons hotting up again - they always do this in spurts

not too sure what impact in melbournce cup this has - but i hope it comes out as slated

i am still gutted about the offseason release and the outdated rosters/prints etc
sure the rosters will randomise in the feature mode on franchise - but i could not bear to wonder what would happen if a team changes their print in this offseason

the beauty about madden is that i can play it as the season goes and make the necessary trades as they happen in real life.

I have accepted the delay - Yet spitting chips at the new timing of release...I'd rather it come out in march than Christmas, all updated etc

I think that is defintely one point we can all agree on ak with regard to when the game is released. I would defintely like to see it come out when the 2006 season start.

I believe mario has said they don't release it then due to the rosters either not being knowen or being changed when the season starts. I think everyone would like the rosters updated to the most current one but due to the unforseen delay and the release window I don't think it will happen. Hopefully there is an editor of some sort so that we ourselves can change the teams. and this is defintely the time of year when lots of sport games come out pes 5 madden, nhl, fifa, melbourne cup etc

i know the NRL is going to review the trading window and the june30 deadline during the offseason

perhaps if any changes are made, these changes may assist future titles released with real time rosters

I know the NRL is also reviewing the judicary system - the NRL admin is the pits at the mo..........hopefully any changes to the system will only assist the development hurdles for future titles

And on the release date, I've already said, he never knew exactly when it will come out, he also thought there wouldn't be a delay. There was, he didn't know there would be one at the time. These things happen. So stop being such a stuck-up little jafa, and accept that it happened, and it is nobodies fault, and the only one who is being an arse is you.
hey kaftka - kiss my ass buddy.

the new release date at my store is a whole month + later now...late, late october.

I was right.

Are you blind and argumentative (note I am making a serious point and you are simply arguing with me) as well as the sycophantic sort that is EXACTLY who I am talking about. Talk about a grand demonstration of EXACTLY what I am talking about and bemoaning. Read again dope and note that even nzl fan didn't sanction my statement and he is a mod and the first to call me out if the line has been stepped: Mario said: "Your friend is wrong. The release date is septemner"..I said bull****. You said: "Oh mario won't you come play? the bread's buttered smooth thisside big boy" etc.....I mean stuff off.

"Mario takes his time" etc is such baloney...I worked in PR and it is an I'll scratch your back you scratch mine situation, I couldn't give a **** if he does or not - especially now. The control giveaway "before such and such september" was dubious at best. I'd rather be a watchdog than an asskisser kaftka.

Oh yeah and Mario...I skipped all posts after kaftka's so that if you did address once or more or never...I didn't read a word and you thus wasted your time in doing so as I am simply not interested in excuses.

How does it feel to have had your time wasted Mario? I cancelled my pre-order, if I ever want it it will be easy to get hold of as popularity seems to be waning with the twilight of the season, and anyway September 17th - the date of my brother's birthday and the recepient of the game - has come and gone. Hell, if it was october 17th he wouldn't get it.

I hope the game rocks but suspect it will be merely very good to good...but all of that is entirely beside the point and I am getting tired of you jumping at me kaftka (always with the jesus chrost lover line like you are the patron saint of intereveners) and then sitting back to gauge if everyone will jump on your bandwagon or not.....when some actually agree you do the ol' oh okay, yeah, but blah blah...I mean take a stance and stick with it buddy or is it that you got caught out for doing the ol' automatic argue with me cos you have a cob on and not actually becos you disagree. perhaps, even, you are just wrong.

Becos mario was laying down the "you are wrong" etc etc

"the game is set for september release" etc TIMES several times...

also becos if it was just becos of the brother thing I would be entitled to be ****** off...

becos the relese date has shifted AGAIN from the 7th to the 21st of october at the store....

Becos the promotion was dodgey - I called attention to it as I thought the whole delay was actually predictable, contrary to mario's insistence, and felt unless the release date was concrete it was unethical. so he maintained yes the release date is cool and then WHAMMO! That's just sad.

And I care even more becos too many think it is a let it slide issue - it was before all the maintaining there wasn't one from a person who couldn't be any closer to the game and supposedly have a higher level of inside knowledge.

Hell he even tried to give AK a hush down at one point - out friggin rageous if you ask me.

Whatever - what's done is done - but don't dare call me out for disagreeing with it (whoever not anyone in particular). It's not about the delay....it's that there isn't one.

It's a shame you insist on taking things so personally all of the time. Mario ended up being wrong in this instance, yes. And it is being released later than expected, you can't hold him personally responsible for something like that. Well, you can, but it's not fair on someone, who's company is making a game, a good one by the looks too, and scream murder on him just because unfortunate circumstances arose.

It's fine that you disagree with it. It's your obnoxious approach that ****** me off. Remember when you told mario to not bother coming here and answer questions? Just because you're having a little tiff with him? Thanks Lover, I'm sure you were speaking for most of the forum when you made that insane statement. Once again, on the delay thing, you're taking things far too personally. You have a knack of reading far too much into posts. Some thing can't be helped. Sidhe is a company on the up http://www.therugbyforum.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif

Hence the bigger they get, the less qulaity in PR, the less respect for customers etc etc

U only gotto look at the behaviour of sidhe in rl1, compare it to RL2, and u can see massive slide in PR

At the time I said this I was correct..........coz I said so!!!

its quite obvious Los lover that the execuitve producer and ceo of sidhe has no idea when his game is coming out. there has only been 2 release dates given ever by sidhe september and late 2005 not october 7th or any other mythical date that a store suggests. I am sure we would all like to be in Sidhe and Hes board meetings to know exactly when they made the call to delay the game and when they will release it. well done to aks friend though for getting into this meeting and succesfully picking that a delay would happen. rugbly league 2 must be the first game in history that has missed a release date.

U can easily see that Mario isnt spilling all the beans

Look at Trev and Ian @ Swordfish...........giving their opinionated predictions, coz we asked for them..........even if its not black n white, they atleast give an insight as to the possbilities, likelihood and consequences of the process

Sidhe are the North Korean wall of development
Nobody knows what goin on inside.........They barely come out to tell.....When they do its withdrawen info.

All we ask for is consistency
Sidhe only telegraph positive news that they can benefit from

hence any dodgy reports of the game are always "Early builds"........this may be true, but I question the process of when these early builds go from sketchy to awesome........9/10 in which they were quick to telegraph

Well if you were a developer, wouldn't you be quick to telegraph a 9/10?

Obviously they would be too proud of an average preview.

Anyway, back to the main topic, the passing does sound like a hassle, as that was very annoting in the first game. I hope mario is right though, because it's quite a big thing.

well there is an advance passing mode which was left out of the gameplanet preview. this advance passing mode hopefully provides more passing options and make it bit more flexbile like pro evo and madden.

this sounds very good! Something positive in the myre.....

also KAFTKA:

Plse understand that I only find Mario's behaviour objectionable (as some may well find my own) becos he DID rubbish the mere suggestion of a delay - stamping it out like a loose coal dropping from the fireplace. He has to stand by that gaffe.

Anyway...by good to really good I mean up to 8.99 out of ten...for me PES and Maddens etc are all 9 out of 10 games...but it worries me now that this will be a <9 game with a couple of observations that have been made re: passing etc. Kinkon is quite right when he says that when it comes out we will all forget like lapdogs of satan...I know I will too...absolutely, which is WHY I am so vociferous about it now. It is about to be swept under the carpet so I am giving it one last bicycle ride through the spanish hills screaming to anyone who gives a ****! lol!

I respect mario and that for making games from the codes we love.....on the 'don't come back here mario' being insane kaftka....I asked him in here too (with ak) buddy and it worked - I got no thanks for that, but you give me **** for trying to boot him back out? Rich.

My store gets its dates from its suppliers who are given time guidlenines by the game developers. Thus the dates are not made out of thin air - I mean WTF!!! The gpstore had an official email and article on the delay sent out to everyone apologizing that the game had been delayed for a second time and for a significant period. This was Sidhe's decision NOT theirs. Stop talking utter nonsense.

My comments re: you jumping before looking always in my case kaftka are thoroughly justified, a hundred examples could be surfaced if need be....but instead of spending an hour citing quotations and individually rebutting everything (or attemoting to), why don't YOU take a deep breath buddy and keep it under wraps. You might realise the great point who were going to make seems, an hour or so later, to be nor so great or at the very least, not so relevant or poignant, as it was at the time of its creation. The inspiration of which was born in your opposition to me - not the point(s) I was making.

Mario is a human - flesh and blood. I'll call him out the same way as anyone else and the same way you have me kaftka. I could give a **** who he is....He could pay me to shut up or pay me to help them make a game that is twice as good as the one they are about to put out.....or they can kiss my ass. A pure, simple and unadulterated stance that will not waver. Sorry kaftka.

Note now that becos of the fierceness of my stance and others too I might add (including what seems like a couple of disappointed/grumpy mods too) EVERYONE seems to have an opinion on the matter and it has been dragged out into the light. This is ultimately all that I wanted and it has worked. So job well done I say.

well there is an advance passing mode which was left out of the gameplanet preview. this advance passing mode hopefully provides more passing options and make it bit more flexbile like pro evo and madden.
this sounds very good! Something positive in the myre.....

PES games are great, but are a long and successful series, Madden games are the same and generally get budget's of 20 million mind you... Personally though I never like Madden. I played 05' for a while and I don't think I've played a more boring game. on a technical standpoint it's alright, but most people I know that actually like gridiron (personally I find it to be a downright revolting sport, and only played the games cause of the reviews) reckon Madden games are little more than expansion packs of the 2003 anyway these days...

So yeah, on a technical standpoint I doubt RL2 will compete with the big guns just due to it's limited life in the gaming industry and the modest size of Sidhe, but that doesn't mean it won't be a cracker of a game.

Hence the bigger they get, the less qulaity in PR, the less respect for customers etc etc

U only gotto look at the behaviour of sidhe in rl1, compare it to RL2, and u can see massive slide in PR

You did well to endure mario's chheek in the face of the turths you uttered. Did he apologize to you like a man? I;m checking through and I currently can;t find one.

RL1 came out in 2002 - so they have also had THREE times the time to work on the sequel.....but I see more tweaks than outandout improvements and the dealy just ****** me off after concreting my order after he said: "there IS no delay for the last time" or whatever. Talk about being misled. Can other ciompanies and industries insist you should get in quick cos it is sellign fast and about to be released and then once they have you ordred and locked in, delay it and say " oh well"

Not bloody likely.

You are at mcDonalds and they say: Actually thanks for your order of the big mac and your monetary payment, however the big mac actyually won't be ready in five minutes, instead can you come and pick it up in two months. My answer woupd be a simple but forceful "No. get f***ed. You can give me the big mac now, or I will carve the equivalent weight of meat from out of your cheekbones." Then I would get my big mac. There is a moral here and it is not that you shouldn't be rude to the mcdonalds teller...NOPE...it is that the mcdonals teller shouldn't lie or lead you astray or they lose their friggin cheeks. get it? I hate it when people don't move back far enough along the moral chain. Punish the instigator NOT the retaliator.

PES5 has taken the front seat...........The new covers in EB for pre-orders......**** the look on the back is hot.............and the release date wont move.

I think the biggest thing sidhe need to address is the timing of their releases

If Melbourne Cup challenge is released during the autumn carnival, I'd be amending the schedules to start developing these game 6 months earlier, than previously

heres an update on a release date via e-mail from David Robles from Hes that was posted on the rugbyleague 2 forums by a member there

Hi,

Yes, this does sound like a great idea. The game is currently going
through a lengthy approval process and the date has not been able to be
set yet. Once it is all approved we can then make a firm date. Hopefully
it can tie into the Tri Series. Fingers Crossed.

finally some good news and maybe a possible October release is not out of the question.

I CAN NOT AGREE MORE..

AK, you are nailing the bullseye with your point of view lately, and this post proves that you are at it again.

Balanced criticism, looking at the issue fairly and just generally summing it up for me.

It's simple start earlier if you want to release a game at the most relevant time, and I hold similar fears for Melbourne Cup Challenge. Mario can call it guess work as much as he wants, but it's an educated guess.

On a totally seperate issue, could it be possible that the future format announcement for Rugby League 2, may include PSP? Or has this been dismissed already? Tell me if you know, anyone. I know it's unlikely, but is it impossible?

Also who, out of all you guys, have a PSP. I do, and I think their pretty good if a little slow in loading, although that is being sorted with some new titles (Tiger 06, Fifa 06) halving in load times.

So anyway, who?

Much appreciated Iversen http://www.therugbyforum.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

the problem is these online features

it was rumoured online delayed league

it was confirmed online delayed GT4.......and released the game without it, but promised a new online version - i havent yet seen

MCC is online too

If online is taking away great capacity of timing, gameplay etc, i dont want it

I may be the only one, that thinks this but why go online FOR THE 1ST TIME when the consoles in retirement

MCC is one game that will take advantage of online - more so than league, as racing against the AI becomes the same, yet racing against created horses from all over the planet against users is just something u could work an annual tournoment for..........WAIT TILL U SEE WHAT THE JIM COUGAR DOES WITH MCC, AND HIS ORLWORLD LEAGUE (Online Racing League)

Its easy for me to say as i havent got online - but i will be divulging into the online relms of the next generation consoles - i need more of a purpose for a moden than playing games, otherwise my GF will kill me, and my social life will suffer...........especially if the TRF punks are on there to be beat!!! http://www.therugbyforum.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

why not go online its what the fans wanted. apparently it was one of the most requested itemes by console owners.

the new consoles have backwards compabiltiy so why not release it this year instead of waiting another 6 month- year for the new consoles to come out. also extra coding and development I would imagine would need to be done for the new consoles.

so long as the netcode is stable no body will care its the first time sidhe have gone online with league. hopefully the online mode is stable and if not a patch released to fix it. rugby league 2 proabbly will have problems with online play and it won't be the first game to or the last.

Heh, you seem to be under the impression I answer questions or provide information specifically for your benefit. I hate to break it to you, but whenever I provide information its for the benefit of all, and therefore rarely a waste of time.

On the other hand, your extended rant seems to be somewhat of a waste of everybody else's time because the vast amount of written garbage you are spewing is making it harder to find actual information that may or may not be hidden within the thread. I suggest making a seperate thread in which to vent your misguided anger so I know exactly where to go when in the mood for cheap insults, and so other people can circumvent your pointless arguments.

Sorry to hear you have cancelled your preorder. We'll miss you as a customer. Really.

sure enuff that is what everyone requested

but are they educated requests?

online is good - dont get me wrong..............but it is the complete shambles if the game isnt any good

for all these people to request online, when there were bugs in kicking for goal, sin binning, interchange, forward passes is a bit rich for me, warped passing

games like TW, Madden, PES, Halo etc - SURE GET THEM ONLINE COZ THE GAMEPLAY CANT REALLY GET ANY BETTER WITH THE CURRENT FOUNDATIONS

But as for Rugby League, and Rugby games etc, cricket - these games arent up to scratch with gameplay and introducing online mode just postpones the 10/10 gameplay we so desparately need

I'd be ****** if I lost to any on TRF on a glitch/rort/tactic that can be abused coz the gameplay isnt up to scratch.

I will be getting online - I have slimline, so its just getting a provider.
Yet I will never play use up my limits on boardband, on a sub par game....if its going to cost me $$ after my $100 off the shelf..........its gotto be near flawless!!

Just closing this thread guys, I think all that needs to be said on the delay has been said, and I can only see this "little spat" thats developed here only worsening........

...as Mario said if we can keep to topic, then everybody will be able to find relevant information much easier.

Also a reminder that developers come on this particular forum out of their own good will, they owe us nothing, and should be respected for their input. By all means criticise there game if you wish(within reason, and in a constructive manner), but be careful not to overstep the mark and become personal.........
