View Full Version : Round 8: W.Force v Stormers

27-03-06, 12:34 AM
The Force (last on the ladder – not even a single point) made a come back in their last run on the field against what must be said was a dismal effort from the Bulls.
The Cheetahs are 6th on the ladder… can the Force get up for this one?

27-03-06, 12:58 AM
Cheetahs are 6th, yes. Stormers are 10th.

Prediction... Force may score a point here...
Stormers will still win though

27-03-06, 03:08 AM
Force will win easy

They deserved to win the other night....... Stormer wont get no easy interceptions this week.

SA rugby

27-03-06, 03:42 AM
I'm quite sure this will be the game the Force win.

27-03-06, 03:49 AM
stormers for me no idea why

28-03-06, 07:39 AM
Stormers to win, Force is no team so far, just a bunch of players, some of them quite average :D

28-03-06, 08:00 AM
Average thus far BUT you never know... that last half for the Force showed a glimmer of hope...

28-03-06, 08:06 AM
Yeah, well than just let me ask you. Are you going to bet even 1 sterling pound on them for this game? No, you are not going to do that! :D

28-03-06, 08:35 AM
Um... sort of did (do Aussie dollars count?), and um yup didn't do me any good.

28-03-06, 08:36 AM
My advice: don`t bet on Force this year, perhaps next season

28-03-06, 08:44 AM
Think that they just have MAJOR issues with the line up at the moment, best of luck to them. I kinda like the Westerners... they dislike Sydney people as much as I do...

28-03-06, 08:49 AM
Honestly, i don`t think they really care about the rest of Australia not to mention the rest of the world which is so bloody great if you ask me! :D

28-03-06, 10:21 AM
They don't have too, they’ve got the mines (which means they’ve got the money), they’ve got the sunshine and the beaches (they’ve also got a few great whites...but hey) and all in all they have a more relaxed attitude.

28-03-06, 10:29 AM
Stormers to win!

28-03-06, 10:45 AM
BIG NEWS.... Joe Van Niekerk is set to be in the 22 man team to take on the Force at Subiaco Oval this Friday!!!! The Coach will announce the team tomorrow but it is certain he will be in

28-03-06, 11:07 AM
Joe has been out with injury correct?

28-03-06, 11:14 AM
There is also some positive aspects if Stormers lose: they`ll be the laughing stock in SA :D

28-03-06, 11:34 AM
You really are going to have to clear this up Rassie... laughing stock? but... their still South African... playing Aussies...

28-03-06, 11:38 AM
Don`t get me wrong, i don`t want them to lose, i`m just thinking of some positive aspects :D

28-03-06, 11:43 AM
I'm confused as hell Rassie... Bob Skinstad, Breyton Paulse, Jean de Villiers, Corné Krige, Robbie Fleck and even Schalk Boof Burger... they are all Stormers that have added (maybe I'm like really wrong on this but...) have added a lot to South African Rugby? maybe... ???

28-03-06, 11:50 AM
To put it as simple as possible, nobody here in SA likes Western Province, except themselves of course!

28-03-06, 12:01 PM
Just adding more fuel to the fire, Pedrie Wannenburg is better than Schalk Burger!

28-03-06, 12:02 PM
That`s very well known :D

28-03-06, 12:18 PM
I hope the moffies can beat the Farce. There is the potential for 2 or more RSA teams to win in this round!!!!

28-03-06, 12:26 PM
Bulls and Cheetahs wins are crucial for a place in the semis. I don`t see how much will count Sharks or Stormers wins

Mr. Laxative
29-03-06, 04:55 AM
Force for this one, it'll be close, but Western Australia (as opposed to Western Province) will win this. Neither team can put together two halves so if the force take out a decent gameplan and play well only in the second half they'll come it with... maybe 5.

Thanks for that!

29-03-06, 06:35 AM
can't see the force wining this one. they simply don't have the skill with the massive injury toll to compete with anyone at the moment. maybe if the force has a full strength line up they might but not likely with the team they have. I will defintely eat humble pie if they pull this off but I can't see it happening

29-03-06, 08:42 AM
I going Stormers on this one... they have to much experience (even if the other Saffa's on this forum think that they are ****). I will gladly eat humble pie if I'm wrong as well.

29-03-06, 10:32 AM
So thats two pies i should start preparing ?

I better get some tickets, i cant miss our first ever super14 win

29-03-06, 10:53 AM
You still have to wait for your first point as much as for a first win, you got to have patience until next season :D

29-03-06, 11:19 AM
I am a man of my word and if the force do get up I will defintely try and be one of the first to reply with congratulations and admit I was wrong.

I am fairly confident though that I won't need to eat humble pie and that the stormers will prevail

30-03-06, 10:34 AM
Force I think have finally clicked. This could well be their first win of the season if they play like they did against the Bulls in the 2nd half. Henjak not starting will help their cause.

30-03-06, 10:56 AM
The FORCE squad is: 1. Gareth Hardy 2. Brendan Cannon 3. Angus Scott 4. John Welborn 5. Nathan Sharpe © 6. Luke Doherty 7. Richard Brown 8. Scott Fava 9. Chris O'Young 10. James Hilgendorf 11. Digby Ioane 12. Scott Staniforth 13. Josh Graham 14. Haig Sare 15. Cameron Shepherd

BENCH: 16. Tai McIsaac 17. David Fitter 18. David Pusey 19. Matt Hodgson 20. Matt Henjak 21. Scott Daruda 22. Gavin DeBartolo

30-03-06, 11:38 AM
When you put it that way... now that Henjak isn't in the starting 15 there is hope

30-03-06, 12:13 PM
I don`t agree and let me tell you why because i`ve seen this kind of things repeating over and over again (smth like: Lavea doesn`t play, huh, we now stand a chance and so on) . Rugby is the game where team spirit is much more than a simple phrase! Rugby it`s all about team effort, it`s not like in footie, basketball or any other team sport!

30-03-06, 10:01 PM
Yes team effort, aka when the forwards get you forward you expect your 5/8 to put the ball in the corner not straight to the guy or out on the full.

30-03-06, 11:09 PM
when the 5/8 is not passing the ball well etc and not using good ball then it is defintely one peron's fault. in the blues case it was lavea stuffing things up for the rest of the team and for the force henjak

31-03-06, 12:36 AM

Replacements: 16 Tai McIsaac, 17 David Fitter, 18 David Pusey, 19 Matt Hodgson, 20 Matt Henjak, 21 Scott Daruda, 22 Gavin DeBartolo

Stormers: 15 Joe Pietersen, 14 Tonderai Chavhanga, 13 De Wet Barry (captain), 12 Jean De Villiers, 11 Marius Joubert, 10 Naas Olivier, 9 Bolla Conradie, 8 Adri Badenhorst, 7 Schalk Burger, 6 Luke Watson, 5 Gerrie Britz, 4 Ross Skeate, 3 Eddie Andrews, 2 Schalk Brits, 1 JD Moller

31-03-06, 02:24 AM
Stormers to take this one, this is the best team we have named all year.

31-03-06, 03:22 AM
it wud be a laugh if the force went the whole season without victory bahahaha...but then they play the cats...so...

31-03-06, 12:09 PM
Half Time Stormers lead 14-13

Watch us smash em in the second half.

31-03-06, 12:20 PM
Watson having a Stormer! :bravo:

31-03-06, 12:29 PM
Nooooo!!! try Force

31-03-06, 12:43 PM
15 to go and it is basically Jean De Villiers vs the Force, come on Jean!

31-03-06, 01:02 PM
:rahh: We were ROBBED !!!!!

Bull**** Ref :wall: :%#%#:

31-03-06, 01:04 PM

I thought it was on tomorrow night....... until i checked the guide a few hours before the game.

I'm glad i didn't now ........... i would have killed someone after the siren (i also would have missed the Tahs beating the Cheaters :P )

31-03-06, 09:40 PM
Well that was the Forces best chance to win. Can't see them getting a win now, they can't have too many home games left either.

We seem to have become the new SA in Super 14. SA teams have really improved, all 5 of them.

01-04-06, 01:36 AM
Well then that was interesting... man what a close game!
Force can take away a lot from that game... good running, good forward play... think the defining factor that let the Force down was maturity... few bad passes, one REALLY bad kick.

Think the Force supporters should be stoked as well as the Stormers fans. Very close game.

03-04-06, 01:50 AM
Bonus point Win to the Stormers! :D
Looks like the Force aren't going to win at home this season. How good though was that scrum by the Stormers in the last few moments of the game !!!!
