Six Nations facts week one:

To help our loyal fans get the most out of the Six Nations this year, we're going to post a bunch of quick fire facts and figures!

So after England humbled Wales, France overran a spirited Scotland and Ireland limped to a win over Italy, click on ahead and see what the facts were for Six Nations 2010 week one!

 

 

Here we go:

  • France missed the most tackles in week one at 14 followed by England at 12. Ireland missed the least at 5.
  • Scotland made the more metres with ball in hand at 406 meters. More than England who came second with 398m.
  • France managed 14 offloads against Scotland, one more than Ireland against Italy.
  • Ireland made an eye watering 42 kicks in play. The most in week one. France & Scotland made the least at 21 kicks.
  • Italy managed somehow to beat Wales in losing most lineout ball, losing eight of their own throws last weekend.
  • Scotland made 113 carries last weekend, more than any other nation. Sean Lamont led the way with 15 carries, beating 5 defenders and making 101 meters.
  • Scotland also beat 14 defenders last weekend, more than any other nation.
  • Final fact, Scotland conceeded only five penalties last weekend, making them the most disciplined side of the weekend.
