South Korea vs. Greece
Argentina vs. Nigeria
England vs. USA
South Korea currently leading 1-0 against Greece, the Greeks have been very poor and they don't like the way the Koreans constantly attack them down the channels. Greece don't have a gameplan if they don't score first so at worst this will be a draw, looks to me like Korea are well in control.

They play good football, always looking to attack. The Greeks have really struggled to deal with them.

South Korea are a lovely football team, by far the most technically competant in Asia. In our pool at school I somehow managed to get both South and North Korea so my hopes are really resting on Park coming good.

I'd be putting my hopes on South Korea if I were you!
[...] the Greeks have been very poor[...]
South Korea kicked Spain out last edition, I have my doubts about the refereeing that game, but I'll readily admit that the South Koreans have a good team, hope they make it through in their group. Seems like the odds are good so far :)

I feel my Welshness slipping away every second I own up to supporting England, due to that being my birthplace.
On the subject of commentators, my favourite line so far is "The first touch was perfect... The second was even better!"

Howard played well to help the United States earn a draw after Clark falls asleep early and leaves Gerrard open to an easy goal. Green fumbles the ball and lets in an easy goal from Dempsey. A decent match with a tale of two keepers and two mistakes. In truth, both sides are lucky. I thought England would lose to be honest. An Altidore goal could have made all the difference.

I'm only doing this for the 1st 2 games as I havn't seen the USA game.
South Korea were as good as Greece were poor. The trouble is Greece's way of playing is to score then shut thje game down and as soon as they go behind they can't adapt as they dont have the talent to do so. Maybe soon people will stop writing off S. Korea. How did Argentina not win by more than 1, totally dominated the game, Nigeria only came into it when the altitude began to hit both sets of players. Messi deserved a tgoal and could/should have got 3.

Excluding their keeper, Argentina were awful to watch. I don't know how Maradona believes he can win this tournament by starting four central defenders.
South Korea looked pretty good in their match. England v Usa was quite entertaining plenty of chances and of course the huge mistake by green, great for the US terrible for England.

Good old low experctations. The US have quite a goof football team, I don't know why they're raving about a draw against an ok England team.

I give some of the USA players credit for how they did, particularly Onyewu, but the team did not play their best by far. While I admit that a draw is a positive result, the US could have beaten that sack of crap English side. I don't know what Capello was thinking and I don't just mean by starting Green. Does anyone else feel that there are at least seven players that shouldn't be in South Africa representing England?

Capello has got the squad selection wrong. Not taking Walcott was a mistake. Lennon and Wright-Phillips had no touch last night and Milner being completely ineffectual showed that Capello had little faith in him. Joe Cole and Ledley King are obviously not 100% fit so why take them. Cole should have replaced Milner last night. Crouch came on to late also.

Walcott has done nothing to justify being taken.
Thought we were unlucky last night, can play a lot better but felt we deserved to win on the night, thought the US struck it lucky.

To be honest I felt there were some good performances and some well ... terrible.
SWP, Milner, King and Lennon were simply poor.
Green almost fluffed that other save, had his hand not come down in time it would have gone through him and his career ending straight there. Did well to bounce back mind.
Gerrard and Lampard are very attacking players, which meant there were gaps behind the midfield and infront of the defence which were exploited by the US. When Barry is fit then that gap will be filled.
England played a high risk game last night, and what I mean by this is the closing down, players were constantly chasing players down and playing at a high tempo by the end of the game England looked tired.
Crouch was brought on to late, Heskey had a good game but was tired and should have been subbed earlier.
Walcott is not even related to a footballer...
Whats that got to do with it ... simply talking out of your ass.

So Lennon and Wright-Phillips were outstanding last night?
Last time I checked, just because somebody plays bad doesn't mean shit players are instantly good enough. SWP isn't good enough and Lennon had a bad day in the office, but Walcott has the footballing prowess of Tom Varndell.
Explaining to an Arsenal fan (who are the only people on earth who defend him) however that Walcott is shit is like trying to explain to a northerner that the Labour party are morally corrupt and bankrupted the UK... You'll be stating undeniable truths, but they'll flat out refuse to listen and continue believing then preaching whatever they want.

For me the 4-4-2 system is at fault. The defence is as good as it's going to get at the moment. And only Rooney posseses the ability to win games. The midfeild is the problem, playing 4 means one of Gerrard and Lampard will have to play in a) positions they will easily get overrun as neither knows how to hold or b) out of position and therefore reducing their effectiveness on the game.
Play 3 CM's with one being Barry or Carrick, someone who won't venture too far forward and get overrun. That way Gerrard and Lamps can advance in support of Rooney and be a target for your wingers who can get some good crosses in.
Adam Johnson should have gone, OK so he has just recently been a regular in the Prem but he has more talent than SWP and Walcott do, plus he can play left which means Lennon can play wide right. As it is Milner is the best there after Lennon
Something like this
----------Rooney-------------
Lennon------------------Milner
----------SG--GB--FL----------
AC-----LK------JC----------AJ
-------------JH-----------------

The goalkeeper is getting the blame, but where was this supposed world class striker who scored 40+ goals last season yesterday? The most overrated footballer in the history of the sport.
