We were aware of the knowledge deficit, so we engaged Northern Hemisphere consultants. Apparently this was not entirely effective, but please rid yourself of the idea that we just don't care and didn't bother to try and avoid bias in the final product.
Would a roster update not have been considered?
You consulted people ... good but did you match them to the ratings in the SH ... I am not 100% convinced.
Saying that this game I do go back to play when I want a rugby fix :)

Milla, if you need consultants talk to us about the Northern Hemisphere... We would be able to assist with some of this... Putting it to the fans... they are the guys who know the leagues and the players...

Given the costs involved in updates, no, I shouldn't imagine so. We did put in the customisation options for a reason :)

Can you promise that next time I only have to use the customisation options for 5 hours, not 20?

I can't make any promises about anything. If we announce a 'next time' you're welcome to ask me again though.
The funny thing about this is when the HB games did the exact same in reverse (huge NH bias, Nick Evans had 50 odd acceleration, Carl Hayman had pitiful strength and was worse than every starting English club prop, all the kiwi players playing NH club rugby were rated higher than their NZ club counterparts) the general consensus was that it was a non issue. And they didnt even have a customisation option...

non issue? was it ****. I refused to play 08 until I'd discovered woosaah (and then these lovely forums). I seem to remember berating EA (now HB ) at the time for being so lazy as to deliver an unfinished game to the public.
Not that they took the slightest bit of notice, given the non-effort that their most recent rugby game is. Much as there are flaws in Sidhe's product, at least I can attribute them to human error rather than pure laziness and lack of ambition.

I genuinely hope their is a 'next time' the only reason we are all bitching at you is because we feel this game has a hell of a lot of potential.

but how do you intentionally set a maul at the line out?

You can't, unfortunately.

One thing I'm really missing in this game is player skill and ability changes, like in Fifa or PES career mode.
Makes Pat Lambie a bit like Peter Pan now...

Is there an option to see the stats of your players and team throughout the season like; eg number of tries scored

I have looked for that too and can't see anything like that. I've only ever heard the commentator mention it in game after a my top try scorer scores that he is indeed the top try scorer.

An infuriating omission and one that, if given some thought, shouldve been included from the off.

Yeah, click onto a players' profile on the squad selection screen, then press R1 to shift along to see how many tries, DGs, etc they've scored, and you can press them to see the top 10 scorers for it in the competition.

Anyone else finding the player movement, especially when trying to attack on the flanks, annoying?
For instance, trying to attack donw the blindside, two players on one...first (with the ball) running straight, taking on the tackler. The second, who should be supporting, is 5-10 yards BEHIND this player, offering no sense of support whatsoever.

I agree. I tend to rope a second player in to play co-op whenever possible, as it makes scoring tries down the wing extremely easy as you just brinbg a back round at the player not controlling the SH, and then you draw the man and pass to him, voilia.

Suprised that Sweden is not on the list of countries when you create players. Norway is and Sweden is much better that Norway

No.
After the last Viking Tri-Nation between Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Norway ended with 0 points Sweden (9 pts) won and Denmark (4 pts)

That's a kickass trophy.
Totally agreed- the image is too big to be contained by a mere TRF forum post

The best thing about this game to me is making your own tournaments. I love playing the international sides against each other, so played their version of the RWC the most but sooner or later even I had noticed the same teams always making the quarterfinals. So I ah took the 8 out, they are also usually the top 8 IRB ranked nations as well, and gave them their own tournament to cut out all the one sided (well most of them) blowouts. And I put the other 16 sides in their own tournament too, my being privy to the greatest film of all time forced me to name one tourney 'The Achievers' and the other 'The What Have You's.' You can guess which is which I take it. The what have you's play in pools of 4, and get much more playing time in against their own level of competition. I thought Scotland would take it most of the time but usually not. Anyway, long story short I play them one after the other and promote the winner from the what have you's to the Achievers which loses it's worst performing side to what have you relegation.

Does anyone else find offloads to be unrealistic in this game? I've found the AI uses them far too frequently and they occasionally throw them half the length of the field to link up perfectly with another player. I find it annoying how there are no set plays available unlike in EA Sports rugby titles.
There are global game-play sliders available under 'Help & Options' to adjust offload frequency, amongst other things.
Maybe he didn't have the patch?

Hey Milla, can I only access the game setting through the settings editor? I installed the game on another pc (Windows 8) but the crowd is disabled. I tried running the settings editor through steam and in the folder, but no luck. All I want is a crowd:(
That's right. The settings editor is for editing settings. Maybe try reinstalling it if you can't load it. If that doesn't help please email a dxdiag output to supportfiles@sidhe.co.nz, and I'll take a look.

You should have a go at our Rugby demo. The crowds nothing flash but they always show up! It's gameplay focused and spends it's processing power on AI rather than on awesome graphics like those of Rugby Challenge. Check out our blog for more info and to download,
