i found this (http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/music0.html) site the other day. worth a look at. i cant say it is anywhere near the be all and end all, or anything official or right especially since led zep and pink floyd were voted 7&8th greatest live bands of all time, when they should be 1 and 2. george thorogood and the destroyers were 84th etc

like i said, worth a look, but this stuff wont stand up in court.

You know its a sad decade when Outkast makes up two of the 5 top Albums of the 00's along with Eminem, White Stripes and Radiohead.

And Dave Ghrol is much, much better then the 87th Greatest Rock Drummer.

Just thought I'd say cheers Chiro for the heads up in the hip-hop scene in Australia. I've heard some real good stuff so far, got albums from: A-Diction, Art of War, Funkoars, Hilltop Hoods, Fdel, Downsyde, Pegz, Muphin and Mnemonic Ascent. Aussie accents sounds the part in rap. Gotta recommend Art of War, Downsyde and Funkoars to all. They are awesome.

Lars Ulrich (metallica) and John Dolmayan (SOAD) don't deserve to be in the top 100 at all imo. Neither are great.

Dave Grohl and Tim Alexander (Primus) and Taylor Hawkins (FF) should be in the top ten looking at that list.

Replace Lars and John with Stephen Perkins (Janes Addiction) and Matt Sorem (Velvet Revolver and others) and mix them up with Terry Bozzio at the top and the Pantera Drummer at the bottom.

...Keeping in mind that I have no idea who some are... That's my official list.

I used to think that Hawkins was overated, but his drumming on In your Honor (mainly DOA and Hell) and seeing him live on the Everywhere but Home DVD changed my mind.

Still doesn't compare to the likes of Ghrol, Taylor or me though.

just got back from the deep purple concert. f*** that was awesome. unfortunatly they went through the intro of smoke on the water, which is the best guitar riff in history. but blacknight that was something. the bassist, he got a solo going in it, and in the song it goes "nur nurr nur nur, nour ner nar nor nor. nor nor - nor nor" and after he did his bass line, then the crowd would copy it. so awesome. no im deaf in one ear. great live band. :)

canibus - 33 threes

awesome song...canibus is a mean emcee!

Yo, in linear terms, my thirty-three degree, and a
Words will give you thirty-third degree burns
First I write thirty-three lines to a verse
About how I created the Earth out of thirty-three quirks
Thirty-three of my peers never thought it would work
For thirty-three days, I started my relentless research
And I figured, if Jigga could do, twenty-two two's
As an mc, then I could do, thirty-three three's
Suddenly it occurred, at three-thirty, on March third
It came to me like God's word
I started to load my thirty-three caliber Mossberg
Went to the top of the Empire State, on thirty-third
Thirty-three gunshots was heard
Thirty-three pedestrians lay wounded or dead, on the curb
Thirty-three squad cars rushed to the scene
As soon as they heard some mad-man had gone berserk
I demanded thirty-three million
Or I was going to kill thirty-three of the women and children in the building
I gave them thirty-three minutes to respond
Then I proceeded to arm, a backpack nuclear bomb
I set the timer for three hours, and three minutes long
Told them not to try nothing funny or I'd kill them all
They still never responded
Until I saw thirty-three of the S.W.A.T. team jump out of three helicopters
I told them for the third and final time
If they crossed the line again, I'd take, thirty-three lives
Three of the hostages started crying
Three of them started wilding, and convinced, three more to start an uprising
Three of them stood to their feet and started freestyling
I didn't know what to do, so I started rhyming
I tried to kick three-hundred bars
But I got picked off by a sniper from thirty-three yards
The bullet hit me but it got lodged, and ricocheted off
Three organs three inches away from my heart
My name went down in history, as the illest MC
Rewind it and count it, thirty-three threes

Yeah, it was the first time I had watched Letterman in a a week and a half as well (a new record).

But the best bit had to be the part where he had the great Presidental Speeches - Roosevolt, then Kennedy, then it cut to Bush saying "If you don't believe in what we believe in, we'll come 'n kill ya" or the NYPD Cameras which caught Rupert G walking up and smashing a car window with a baseball bat.

But the favourite one in my collection has got to be Delicate Sounds of Thunder, probably their best live CD IMO along with Pulse... even though they both are missing Waters.

pulse is undoubtably the best live show/album ever.

heres a pink floyd fact though: robert walters coffee was often laced by other pf members with LSD, which in the end caused his insanity.

pf fact 2: at live 8, pink floyd played for the first time in 10-20yrs? they had not practiced, or even been collected as a whole prior to getting on stage and playing. even with no collective pratice, they played every song to perfection.

Then again they've both been playing them individually alot.

I remember some interview with one of them saying that it is unlikely they will reunite fully as playing at the Live 8 together was "Like sleeping with your ex-wive"

want to hear a story?

new student music tv station, alt tv has been on the air since the end of last year, and its the coolest station ever. no ads. awesome music. not top 40, they play metallica, led zep, split enz, sex pistols etc. infact the first clip i ever watched was ac/dc's let there be rock!!! after that im hooked on the channel. anyway, from 4-5? theres a show, forgotten what its called, but they have cool as presenters, and its a request show, and i txted in for a song to be played, and after the current song had finnished, it was played!!!!

but anyway they had a poll "who would win out of godzilla and chuck norris" now, i know a website with 9 pages of cn jokes, and i know a lot off memory. so i txted in a few, and when they were reading them out on tv, they honestly curled over and laughed so hard!! and for having the awesomest reason for cn to win, i got a cd, hot chips. i havent actually heard of them before, uk band aparantly. any good?

The Raconteurs.

Steady As She Goes is a cool song, but I've been a bit disappointed with the other stuff I've heard to be honest.

avenged sevenfold are the best heavy metal band ever! they appeal to all the emo kids and copy all the riffs from the earlier heavy metal bands and add some annoying guys lame voice over top...all of what i said is true except "avenged sevenfold are the best heavy metal band ever!"

and now back to the topic:
Rage Against The Machine - Fistful Of Steel
