View Full Version : Is something up?

Guys,
Is something the matter? Is something on your mind? Is there a problem? I get the feeling that you're not happy about something.
TRF has been very quiet over the past few months. Certainly since the football World CUp finished.
Is something preventing you from your say? Can you not be bothered posting? This quietness is really concerning for me and Charlie because with the Tri Nations being on we should be really busy. And we just aren't.
Any comments or suggestions?

I have a problem, I haven't got as much +rep as I'd think I deserve. :D
(Geez, I think I'm turning into Gavin Henson.....It must be my sig.)
Anyway, back to the topic...Yes, TRF has been very quiet. As soon as we get some info/vids of the next batch rugger games (well 2) It will pick back up.
Also, in the lead up to next World Cup, I can see record breaking amounts of new members joining & you guys can go back to tell everyone off who is spamming or whatever you guys moan about. :bana:

It'll improve one the new season starts/the Rugby 07 rumours and news gets into swing. It's always quiet on the net in Summer.
personally i feel the board really comes awake when the SH boys wake up, get back from work.. etc.
i have the ability to be up between both time's better than most of UK guys and it seems that around 9-11 PM my time, the board does really hop, a lot of guys i.e. gay guy, mono, woosaah, etc are up at that time and i see a lot of activity

And this is what concerns me.
I want the place to be buzzing from RUGBY.
The Tri-Nations forum seems to be ticking over nicely in my opinion.
Ony one topic for the first 4 games has failed to reach 100 posts.

Well make it, dear watson.
Hit me up on MSN sometime anyway, I've had a couple of ideas that you and Charlie may want to consider.

i am gettin ready for holiday startin 2morrow but only gone a week maybe on a little but not much
I think it is only really quiet or seems like it is because many of the northern hemisphere posters have nothing to post about.
as ripper said the tri-nations section is going nicely and with the air new zealand cup starting up there has been good discussion going in the southern hemisphere forum.
I think things will pick up when the northern hemisphere comps start up again as lots of the poster on here are from up that way. and as others have said once there is info about the next rugby games being made posting should increase as well

Sounds right to me, mr esoj. I think that it's going to take until there is more relevant rugby news from the NH comps and further developments in the next Rugby games.
I've been fairly busy myself too. As soon as I get more free time (very-soon-I-hope), I'll send some ideas to you boys that have been rattling around in the old noggin.
Basically tho, what he said. :D

The Tri-Nations forum is going ok , but it's still aint as good as it should be.
Seems like there is less interest in the Tri-Nations this year than there was in the Super14 ,alot of the regular posters from then like Rassie,Groen n Goud,Wally,Sanzar and Chiro have gone MIA.
Agree with the Truth, Trin Nations is the one area talking rugby at the moment.
And without Rassie, Groen n Goud,Wally,Sanzar and Chiro things are pretty slow.

We have had nice weather in the last few weeks. It looks like nearly all the UK members are out enjoying the nice weather.
Wait until its starts raining again, they be on here quicker than you can say 'Rain'.

Hmm everything is really empty. I mean, look back at years 03, 04 and to a lesser extent 05. The NPC had its own forum, every game pretty much got a topic with many replies and they were pretty much buzing.
Now, the whole competition has only managed a two page topic in the Southern Hemisphere section.
Why? Although there has been a drop in established Kiwi members you can't hardly blame the demise on that. Everyones favourite scapegoat the Off Topic section can't be blamed either because not many people are actively posting there.
Maybe because of the extend 3N and the lack of ABs in the ANZ Cup just makes it boring. Posting about some hick schoolboy placing in the premier division isn't as interesting as going to the 3N section and posting about the joke of a judicial section.
Either way, nobody (myself including) can hardly say its disapointing with being a hypocrite, rather all I can say is its sad...

Guys, the Rugby in the NH is resuming. Last weekend this was the first round of the Top14. I guess the Guinness Premiership and the Celtic league should start soon. The NH posters should be more active then.
The 3N is showing some top level Rugby but it becomes boring in my view because this too many games with the same teams.

Meh, I forgot...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
But no no, seriously.
Maybe if we active the place up a bit ourselves, then people will come?
ie. Give the Air New Zealand Cup (wanky name) it's own section. Then we may get more people signing on and staying as there will be a place to talk about each game.
Liven up the Tri Nations section somehow. What I mean is make the place appear busy ourselves rather than waiting for people to sign up before changing things.....
And yes dan, something is up, but only DC can help me with that I'm afraid.

I have noticed that the Gaming section is not visible unless people join. I personally think that more people would join if they actually saw a gaming section.....then when they tried to access it they were given the prompt that they had to join up to open that section.

I have created the Air New Zealand Cup subforum, in the Southern Hemisphere, so if someone wants to populate it with match threads, that would be fantastic...
Also Teh Mite has created forums for the Guinness Premiership and the Magners League, so we will begin to populate those with match threads as well...

Have just done a change so that they are unable to view the board without registering but it should now be visible to Guests...
