Not being rude, but can none of you three posters read my message i left at the bottom of the page?
@ Aymane - I released the patch with the Clermont i tested. The finished version will be here in a few hours.
@ JamesBrown - Have no idea why your game is running faster.. i noticed this when i played too. Maybe the files are smaller in some way than the ones i'm replacing.
@ ssn - The file has worked for me all day. Try again today and see if it works.

Hi guys.
As you can see i released a large patch that already has a lot of files that i have made or others have made all in one patch.
The patch is far from complete in areas and will probably require many more files to be added to entirely patch the game.
The pinned thread is purely for releases of my updates.. these can be updates from others on your behalf. It just makes sense to have it all in one place without pages of talk in it.
This is why, after using the MEGAUPDATEPATCH and it's updates, we can talk about the progress and what is being done and what needs doing in here. Then everyone knows what needs to be done and myself and other modders can keep track of what is what.
It should stop endless threads about 'has this kit been done' and 'why does the game do this' kinda thing.
So, here we go. V1.0 MEGAUPDATEPATCH has these following corrections to be made and files to be added.
TO DO:
- All Minikits for teams that have new kits (most of them RWC and European clubs)
- Score Overlays and menu flags in graphics files (I have done everything else)
- New Kits USA, Japan, Namibia and Samoa Away (i will do Samoa away)
- Castres 2007-08 Kits if they ever release a photo of it..
TO BE CORRECTED: (things i have done that need completing)
- Biarritz Away Kit numbers.
- Bourgoin kit numbers
- Wasps home (shoulder line fix only)
- Gloucester Home and Away (shoulder line fix only)
- Bristol Home Kit (allsorts of line fixs only)
- Worcester Warriors Home and Away kitbacks with Coral Numbers (i will do)
- Clermont kitback fix (done, to be released today)
- Bath minikits (i did them they look very poor)
That's the summary of what needs doing that i can think off the top of my head. Things to do with the roster are seperate and Ciais is dealing with that. Please don't post anything about player appearance or stats as Ciais is already making the roster and has every major appearance error and stats under control.
Please DO post here if you find any problems with anything in my patch, or anything at all.
BUT PLEASE DO NOT POST IN MY PINNED THREAD.
Otherwise me and Ciais will come and kick your ass. :lol:

I played an entire RWC to see if maybe the banners appear in the knockout stages, but nothing. Unfortunately, I stupidly lost the final (and didn't save the game before playing it), so I can't tell if the game use them as part of the victory celebrations. So is the RWC pitch logo you modified with Sky Sports, the game doesn't use it, but again, maybe it does in the celebrations. Today I'll try again (and win the cup, I promise)
I'm currently modifying the basic menu and game graphics (like EA Trax or the cursors), it's not 100% easy but I'm doing my best
I found out how to modify the texts layout, like the positions of the popups, but it's really hard to decode and edit them, so I can't promise anything
As soon as torortotoy finds me the songs, I'm gonna update the songs played when a try is scored (I hope, maybe it won't work like the anthems)

Looks identical to the 06-07 kit. I think i'll leave it as it is, or leave it until very last.
I have just finished the Bourgoin kitbacks, so they will be added to the V2.0 update.
@ Fran - If you can't edit those things, don't worry. Gameplay and graphics matter the most i think. But if you can improve things, be my guest.
Personally, i'd work on the roster. My roster is very up to date as it could be, there might be a few transfers like Di Rollo to Toulouse (why??) Cedric Rosalen to Perpignan, and Lucas Borges to Treviso from Stade Francais.
I know a couple of players have retired since, like Brian Lima so you can probably write over them and add extra players.

I have just completed a minor fix for Leicester's home jersey, where the lines on the sleeve were not in proportion. All fixed and added to MUPv2.0

As far as i know Badongo doesn't have a 'queue' system.
I will try to upload it somewhere else. Is there anywhere that you have used before like filefront?
Where do i put these in the data file?

Gary, I managed to modify menu and in-game graphics, I modified the EA Trax texture and position to be used with my soundtrack patch, edited the popup graphics, and deleted the ball marker and the (useless) momentum gauges in-game. I left in the goal kick and drop gauges, and the arrows (I wanted to delete the scrum arrows, but since they are used for the goal kicks too, I didn't erase them)

What exactly can't you make work?
I totally revamped the imatch overlays to make them look more like the RWC TV ones
The colors (green/blue) are the same, which I grabbed from a match I watched on my PC; so is the style (the penalties are shown - without the team flags beside them - only under the scorebox, while the main popups show statistics like the pack weights and the lineouts won)
I made it inside the game limitations, so if it's not 100% accurate or good-looking, it's not entirely my fault

i havent downloaded the patch yet....will it overwrite my current roster which i have edited with Woosahs editor? also does it have an ability to show stats at the end of the game like Tackles made by which players, tackles broken etc etc?

Hi Ciais, great work so far!
Which file from your mega patch would I need to delete in order to keep the defensive formation pop up when selecting a formation. At the moment when I try selecting a defensive formation no image pops ups to show me which is "tight defence", "wide defence", etc. I would prefer to have that pop up in the game.
Also, when making a substuitution, the players positions next to their names have dissappeared and their names dont get highlighted to show which player I have selected to substitute. Which file should I delete to set that back to the original EA way?
Other than that the game feels a lot better! Thanks.

@ monatu - there's no roster YET with the patch. And I don't understand what you mean with "stats at the end of the match", you mean like in TV? If that's the case, I'm afraid there's nothing like that, it's an EA game, we can't do that much to modify it
@ Rockstar - It's a little complicated, there are only 3 files with ALL the graphic things, and I would like to keep the defensive formations hidden. If someone else wants them back, I'll change them
For the substitution menu, there's no problem with the positions, as they are in the right column, and for the highlighted player, I'll see what I can do
For the long sleeve, you have to wait for woosaah, if and when he releases the new version of the editor

Here's the PA music patch, it replaces the songs played when a try is scored. The 6 songs are taken from the RWC, so I know that some of them just suck, but it's the best torortotoy and myself could find

I liked the blue kit last year.. this one is also nice.. but khaki and flowers is just wrong. I guess i am a traditionalist and prefer stripes and hoops.
Problem is you can't have 3 kits in the game. Uli made the right kits for home and away, but where do you put the 3rd?
an idea delete the kaki shirt and put the blue , almost the short of the pink shirt are pink too not blue whit jaja very male jaaj well taths my opinion and someone can make the pumas 2 shirt they have two models more one blue and one red i can send photos if you want!

I think you should replace the kaki one because the pink is the best with the blue.

Don't use any programs, apart from the ones you know. EA's Cricket and Rugby share the EXACT same game engine, so if I don't know something about a file, I'm sure that on PlanetCricket I'll find the solution :)

So there is only 13 games? There must be a way to modify that. I'm sure you will figure it out, it might just take a while to figure it out. It doesn't matter too much though, it's better than no Top14.
I'm having a small problem with minikits. They come out as a 256x256 sized white square and i can't seem to fix it.
No, I can't replace the Premiership, I have to replace the Super 14 because it has 14 teams, otherwise the game crashes. I can't even reudce the number of rounds (they're 14, if I make them 13 the game crashes), because the game is meant to be that way. I'm afraid it's hard coded, and there's nothing I can do about it

Welcome. At the end, every team plays 13 matches, the first half of the season, but there are 14 rounds because in some of them 2 teams get a bye, because that's how it is in Super 14. That's it. Like you said, it's better than nothing, but I'll give the fixtures the same order they have in real life, even if some matches will inevitably be in the following round(s). And I'll make sure that the playoff matches are played in French stadiums, like Lyon, Bordeaux and Stade de France, I think I know how to do that ;)

I thought i completed Clermont with 2 numbers..oh well, nevermind it will be fixed. If you ever get my kits with the same number for all the kits, it means that i have just made a kitback to test the kit and have not made the 22 kitbacks in case it is wrong.
btw Eric, if you do score overlays (like the last graphic DL you put on your thread) please let me which ones you plan on doing, or we will maybe end up doing he same ones which is pointless.

There is a lot more to add to the patch such as rosters and somehow we need to correct World League to the rosters we make.
There are lots of graphics missing that need adding to the game that i am noticing now so i am working on that.
Glad you like the patch so far, it is still very much in development so that why it looks great in places and rubbish/incorrect in others.
Gary, I just saw a video of the match between Bath and Overmach Parma, and Parma played with the white kit, it's their home kit

Hello evreybody, i think it's a great idea this Super League. But i have one question..To my mind we will start this competition with a third division's club.. And i'm fan of Bayonne's team. So i couldn't play with them. Is there a solution. One other thing.. I think Bayonne is not as good as Sale (challenge cup bayonne 12 sale 51 and after Sale 32 Bayonne 10 )

@ merignacais - I can't satisfy everybody, because I'm sure everybody wants to play the World League with their favorite team. I didn't make up these rankings, I know they're not 100% official, but they're the ONLY ones.
I can't make the divisions basing on what people think, and these rankings are as of early September, so BEFORE every major season began. You want to play as Bayonne? Pick a third division team and win, then maybe Bayonne will offer you a job (because that's what career modes are)

@ Ciais.. good work, it looks good. I would agree with those divisions, they will change anyway as you play of course.
The only problem i have with World League is that the rosters are awful.
They are not the rosters that play in the rest of the game, instead you get the original roster with players with stupid names, like S.Han'solo.
I know this is to do with the .ros and .rdf files, but i never really played World League to know what to do about it.
Regarding the files, there are 3 files i came across that have global team graphics. One is the squad management logos (128x64's), one is 64x64 logos like round shaped and the other is like the score overlay graphic, but only for one side. Like you said, i notice they don't do much.
I updated my whole game a few days ago, and every team now has every logo. I can't figure out which one does what, as i have to put the same graphic into different files (the 128x64 'flag' graphic) but all i know is that each team has 2 graphics files that controls score overlay, fly-in logo and some menu logos. The others seem to be global type files that update all the team graphics in one hit.
I thought i had messed up all my work when i loaded the game and found original graphics, but this was due to that b33 file being overwritten with the old one that Uli did.
All is ok here, i am just looking through the game to see any mistakes and errors.
I did notice a flag on one of the stadiums is not working.. this is why you get the green and red colours.. it actually says something like 'bad modder, no cookie'.
I think that is EA's attempt at a joke.
@ Eric.. superb work.. upload them or something and i will add them to my latest megaupdatepatch. We ae nearly there!
I think that the .fsh files with 6 images are for the menu logos, so the 2 global files are useless, but I'm not sure, we should check this out
For the World League, I'm editing everything, from job offers to transfer windows, I'm trying to make it look like a real-life league
For the free agents, I plan to put in the national team players who aren't in any club, minus the retired of course
I think I deleted the "crap-players-at-the-beginning" thing, now all 3rd division teams should have their default players, which is the .rdf file that I will update with the roster I'm currently editing, so no problem with that
Today they'll announce the remaining H-Cup fixtures, so I'm gonna update them at least, not sure when they'll do the same for Top14

I think it is best to leave all the fsh files in the database even if we don't know what they do.. the game works and i like it that way.. so if it isn't broke, i am not going to try to fix it!
I know that you still have to update the correct teams who play in Top14, at the moment it has some of the euro teams like Bucuresti and Padova etc.
Ok, I'll test the .fsh files then, it's not a problem, but I'll do it near the end, like you said, it's not a priority ;)
I did the Top 14, only the first 5 rounds though, they still have to decide the fixtures of the remainder of the season... What's wrong with them? :angry:

yes there is a huge World League pitch logo right in the middle or so, so big and ugly i feel sick looking at it, there are posts and flags too (maybe other bits but i don't remember to be honest)
you know what, it would be actually probably even better (and easier) to keep it simple and not having any league pitch logo in the middle - it seems to be a SH thing to put logos all over the pitch - from what i remember NH pitches aren't so "billboarded" up - post and flags being enough imho.
Now if you've got a logo alrady made for the World League / European Super League - then cool, as long as it's not massive i reckon...
Also, question totally out of the blue - to make the game a bit more edgy and fun - is it possible in any way to make the average tackles more "physical" if you see what i mean? I think the game isn't using all the tackle animations. Once, i had one of my player close to an other one - ref blows the whistle, i push the tackle button, and to my surprise, my player jump right to the shoulders/face of an opponent and took him down - that looked real aggressive and bad ass - but was the first time i saw that... :blink:

I have no problem with having no logos, i just replaced ones that were there anyway. It is very easy to edit and i have no problems. I think the pitch logos look daft anyway.

I have seen photos that have just the Top14 logo in the centre and not orange logos next to them. I will see what i can do, but 256x256 is square and i dont know if i can fit the logos in so they are big enough, although they do come up big on the pitch dont they?

As for World League i am not sure what graphics to add, as it is a fantasy competition. It should have an ERC logo somewhere i think.

So, in a nutshell you want to remove all skysports pitch logos, and just adjust the centered pitch logos to Top14/orange, a smaller Guinness Premiership and the Tri Nations. Do you want the menu logo changed for Tri-Nations too? I prefer that logo much more than the sanzar thing.
I already removed the Sky Sports logo, and added a Peugeot one for Argentina, just download the pack I posted in the earlier post and you have everything I did
For the Premiership, I don't know, some don't have a logo, some have that one, so maybe we should put that logo
Regarding the Top 14, I probably prefer the one I told you because it has Orange too, but it doesn't matter if you want to put the one you saw
The Tri Nations pitch logo isn't the same size as the original EA one, it's 2/3 its size, and yes, if you want to change the Tri Nations logos, of course you can :)
For the WL, maybe no pitch logo at all? Considering it's an european competition, and the H-Cup doesn't have a logo... :huh:

hi guys!
Just finished playing a RWC with France (and won it god damnit!) and noticed something. You know how the defenses get more agressive when they're on their own line... The defense as well as the tackles are more consistent... I was wondering if this is due to a scipt in game which is kinda activating like a "defense boost" in a given place on the pitch? - and if it's the case,maybe it could used for any place on the field, so it'd basicaly be ON all the time, not only when defense is on their own line.
It would make the game even more interesting i think, more realistic in some way, with tighter defense, who is not wandering around like they lost something in the grass,and it would ad a little fun factor cause the tackles would be a little rougher (c'mon, everybody likes a bit of beefo) without altering the players stats.
I have no idea whatsoever how hard would be a task like that - What you guys think? it's feasable?

The patch is taking a long time. Graphics don't take that long, they are all done, and every team has a stadium now (duplicates of stadiums that look like one they have), and should have the correct adboards, balls, and logos if any.
What is taking the time is the coding for all this. It is being worked on as we speak, but it takes a long time to do a good job.
The roster is coming along well, it just needs the player stats and appearances adjusted.
We have even changed goalposts, and the patterns on the goalposts, like stripes or pink for stade francais.
Not sure when it will be released. There is lots to do, like kits. Certain modders are busy so it's mainly me, Ciais, Uli and Eric doing the patch.
If anyone here has any kits they'd like to add to the mod that are not done (magners league away kits mainly) then please post them.
We need help if we are going to release this patch quicker than we expect. It is about 85-90% complete, but the last 10-15% is much tougher to do.
I totally agree. It won't take that long (i.e. way before any probable 09 game), so don't worry
Trust me people, it'll be worth the wait, I don't think you want to play with an extremely rude patch made just in a single day :)

If you watch in the .big file there is 2 files: the .fsh file and the "config.bin" file. The .bin file is the 3d model.
So you just have to import the kyt style model that you want into the .big file of the kit with BigGui.

Basically, if you extract a fsh file (kit) from a team in the game that has the collar you are looking for, you can use that config. If you use the wrong config with the wrong shirt template it can cause some uglyness around the collar.
See here, for one of my 'mistakes' on the montauban kits. It is supposed to have a tight round neck, but i used the a kit file that has the tight-collar and it looks like that. It can make new designs.

Literally, all you do to correct it is find a kit.fsh from the game, or one you know has the style you want and use that as the one you import back into the .big

El parche todavía no está terminado y no se tocaron todavía los stats. Te olvidás que soy argentino y uno de los miembros del patch, así que no te preocupes que los Pumas van a estar como se merecen. Además tengo pensado hacer faces como ya hice la de Corleto, Hernández, Nacho F. Lobbe, Hasan. Así que en vez de criticar podrías colaborar! Tenes experiencia en hacer faces?

Como te dije, todavía no se tocaron los stats. Cuando esté terminado vas a poder quejarte todo lo que quieras, o modificarlos a tu criterio con el Whoosaah's Rugasmic 08 Editor, el cual podés bajar en su post.

Hi guys, sorry i have been away.. hopefully my pc will be repaired soon. I may have to reinstall all my data and the game and all that stuff too, but not sure when it will be repaired.

Ok, it has come to my attention that the patch is in some difficulty right now. This was going to happen if key members are not working on it, and in the case of Ciais i can understand the frustration of myself being away and i have been trying to get these bunch of clowns to repair my PC.
What happened to my PC was crap, the game would not load after a bug in the graphics card developed and i could not download or update drivers/editors as the PC would not accept them as i don't have SP2 for XP. I have never been able to have it on my system. This is my problem. It will be fixed one way or another, just slowly thanks to the clowns who keep getting faulty motherboards for my PC..
So, we have to basically decide what we want to do.
I made a lot of kits and graphics and i know Moloko has adjusted or remade a lot of them which is fine. My patch didn't have Super 14 in it, as we had no SH patchers. I was reading that the patch may have changed into a SH patch so Guinness Premiership is lost.
The patch is have is for NH, it has no S14 in it, but if i don't make any kits/logos anymore and someone else takes that job then i can hopefully become senior roster editor.
So, i suggest the following. If people want to come aboard this patch that is fine, we just need to all decide what job we will do.
So please, can someone tell me what is going on with this patch.. is there a whole new patch?
I will keep the one i did and update it myself, but if the new patch has Super14 then i can help make the roster for it. Everything else was pretty much done thanks to Ciais' very hard work.
I would like to applaud this guy even though he has quit as he has done so much and i don't blame him for quitting. Modding is fine if you have time and motivation to do so.
So thanks Fran for all you do. We will finish this patch one day and then you can stop going grey.
I will say now that i will update any rosters (assuming the editor is working well and i can get it running) for any patches that people desire (within reason)

Hi all, i can finally say i am back online!
I had to get a new PC, which has Vista so hopefully most of the problems i have had will be fixed now.
I am sorry that i have been away so long, i have had to wait to order things like a new router for my PC and that kind of thing.
THE GOOD NEWS IS.. i am back and ready to start doing some editing.
I need to install the game though.. i might have to buy a proper copy this time, unless someone can tell me how to use the iso file i have burned onto my dvd disk?

Iso files cna be open with Deamon tools or Alcohol. The new version of Acohol, Alcohol 52 %, can be use on vista. There is a free version and you can try it here : http://trial.alcohol-soft.com/

When someone made the rosters originally (not the ea one) they made players in the game itself and then they get listed in the game.
In the editor they appear as 'created player', where the part is to give them a unique/generic face (from another player, like O'Gara for example). If i change this to 'real face' for any team that has one, my game does not crash anymore.. and i don't have missing textures.

In the roster i have, there are maybe 1 per team. You can only have like 60 created players or something anyway.
I am just about to release my 6 Nations roster file in about 10 minutes. I will explain more in the roster thread in 30 minutes.

I was watching Munster HC game yesterday, and I think that the away kit from this patch has a small mistake: In the patch it has a kind of red trim in the low back, but in reality there is no such thing.
I hope you can fix this.

Yep crashes for me as well - just as the game is about to start - bang - unhandled exception - really annoying is that the exception dialog is "behind" the game - meaning I have to restart the machine! - I am on XP...
This also happened if using the MUP roster! - I had to uninstall and reinstall the game...added the update and then it all happens again - thanks for the hardwork though it looks great!

Can you describe the exact steps you're doing from the front menu onwards plus what your settings are? Is this MUP1 or 2?

I have found that the MUP rosters do not load - the creation date is set to 31/12/1999 and I get an error "unable to load rosters" - if I use the MUP Beta 2 - all seems to work fine until I choose to play a game - there is no specific option - if just "Play Now" with the default teams - just as the first graphics are shown the game crashes - with the commentary of "welcome to"
BTW The six nations is not shown on Sky - in fact Sky only have rights in the UK for the Premiership and Heineken Cup (and the tri nations/Super 14) - World Cup is on ITV and the rest is on BBC

Just to add - it is the rosters that are causing the game to crash - at least it seems to be.
If I don't have the profile or the rosters available then the game works - but of course the teams are not updated!
Also the fact that it's not possible to call the defence (std,wide,kick,tight) is quite annoying...I have given away soft tries because of this :cryy:
