Finally here it is! Mega Update Patch v.1.2 SEASON 2008-2009

Firstly i would like to thanks Gary (Fa'atau82) who was the responsible of the first verisions of MUP. I've made this update based on his work, so he has a lot of credit! Also many thanks to all the modders who contributed for this patch, especially xusky for his great faces. And sorry for the delay but it was really a hard work and i think it worth it at least until we have a new rugby game. Finally... I hope to see more modders involved on future updates. I would like to start the 2009-10 season update but wee need more kitmakers and facemakers.

ICLUDES:

- Full 2008-09 squads for all teams.
- French TOP 14 replaces Super 14.
- 2008-2009 schedules for all the tournaments (Tri Nations, 6 Nations, Orange TOP 14, Heineken Cup, Guinness Premiership).

First you have to download MUP v.1.1. You can find it in this post: http://www.therugbyforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=31924

You need just the graphic files wich are in this link:

Once you have the files installed download MUP v.1.2 files and overwrite the old ones.

RefKitChanger Tool (by kingwilko)

Referee Kit Changer is a tool made by kingwilko wich lets you choose between different referee kits. I've made referee kits for all the leagues avaible in the game. So you just have to choose which kit do you want for the referee before playing a match.

You have to extract the files in Woosaah's Editor directory to make it work (by default: "C:\Program Files\Woosaah Ruggby 08 Editor"). Then select the Rugby 08 patch, and in the "ImpBig" command line select the "ImpBig" file inside Woosaah's Editor folder.

but i can't get the roster to load? i've put it in the ea folder in my documents but it doesn't show when i load up the game? any help?

Did you try loading the roster in the options? In the main menu go to "Options" and then "Load/Roster"

I don't know why i cant put the video in the fisrt post

This might just be me but I get an 'Abort Message' right at the start on the intial rugby 08 screen saying "version on player database bad.."

any suggestions? im using microsoft 7 beta. Maybe I need to remove a file or sumthing.

Thanks. I've checked out Gonzalo Camacho and Napolioni Nalaga faces and they are correctly assigned, also the filenames are ok in the update folder. Anybody else with this problem?

i found out what causing my "version on player database bad" its the RDF file(73cb47d1d69c90f28fd1cc4186ac1926.rdf) in the roster that your suppose to put in the MUP folder. I had the old one in there and it work then when i switched it back to the new one i got the error again

Strange... it works fine for me and it hasn't been changed.

@War1: Filefront it's crap. I've lost almost all my uploads there and i don't want to upload anything to that site anymore. Could it be Megaupload?

But it's in MUPv.1.2 rar file. Something happend and it didn't copy the file. Try extracting from there. By the way do you have vista?

No i don't have vista, a problem did apear when i was extracting the files that said that the audio could not be extracted, and i think i am missing some files as there are some player files missing and other things like the front part of the all blacks second kit. I will try extracting the files in another computer to see how it goes.

Uli I solved my problem, the MUP update part 2 was incomplete. I donwloaded it again and everything works perfectlly

from what i seen the players arnt as fast so you have to do more but that just my idea

My game is installed on my laptop (runs on high performance and has reasonably good specs) , its annoying now because the game runs good for about 5 mins then its goes slow as if it were just running on battery but then it goes fast again and visa versa. hmmm dunno if my battery is playin up but my comp has always ran rugby 08 fine until i installed this mod. iv got heapsa space on my comp left and a good processer, i also tried closing heaps of un required application processes that were running but just can't see the fault. any ideas?

First of all Uli, i have to say this is some amazing work you have done to MUP. Incredible effort! Thankyou for all the time you have spent fixing this game. btw i have asked TRF if they can give you post edit rights.. i assume they haven't done it yet?

@ Dangan: I would suspect if you had no problems before, and you have problems now, it is very likely to be the .pro file. On your old one, it had resolution settings that worked. If you are using Uli's .pro file with the MUP download, it probably has different resolution settings, and the game will not even load for me when i've had this problem. So the best thing to do is delete the .pro that you got with the new MUP. Then once the game loads, save it again or save a brand new one. It will save with the MUP settings, but with your graphics resolutions etc.

@dangan: I didn't upload my .pro file, so you shouldn't have problems. Try changin the graphics configuration. Anyway the laptops are not a good option to play games.

I have started on about 6 kits today. Kits this season for GP are quite simple i think and some teams have the same as last season. I can help with rosters too. Is Ross not doing them now?

I hopefully should release the new kits for Bath, Gloucester, Harlequins and few others after i make the numbers and upload the files. They will be home kits. Until a few weeks go by, i won't have pics for away kits and euro kits.

Try installing the files again, if it doesn't work download the files again. Sometimes the download could be corrupted. Also be sure that you loaded the correct roster.

Go to Options/Load/Roster. If it doesn`t work delete the rdf file in the roster folder.

hi i have a quick question....

I am looking for the newest roster of the northampton team and i have noticed that it reverts back to the old roster from the orignal game in V1.2 even though the roster from V1.0 had an updated roster

might be the wrong place to put this but I'm a total noob with these mods but I want to update Rugby 06. I've tried downloading the rugasmic editor for 06 but get the 08 version

I've also downloaded the MUP09 v.1.1 and it wont load the profile and nothing changes

Can someone help?

Tenés que extraer los archivos (primero la versión 1.1 y luego la 1.2) en la carpeta del juego, por defecto "C:\rchivos de programa\EA SPORTS\EA SPORTS ™ Rugby 08". Al roster lo tenés que extraer en Mis Documentos/EA SPORTS Rugby 08. Eso es
todo.Cuando entres al juego tenés que ir a Options/Load/Roster y cargar el
roster MUP v1.2.Ahh y no uses traductores online, son un desastre .

You have to load the new roster. Go to Options/Load/Roster and select "MUP v1.2" roster. Northampton should be updated to 2008-09 season.

hey uli great work. just a quick question about the stade francais jersey you made . Will loads of jerseys be put out there to download at the same time or will i be putting in jerseys made by you one by one?

I don't know. It depends if we make an update for the 2009-10 season soon it will be there. But there is not much people involved yet, just Fa'atau and me. We need more modders, especially kitmakers and someone editing the roster.

RefKitChanger Tool (by kingwilko)

Referee Kit Changer is a tool made by kingwilko wich lets you choose between different referee kits. I've made referee kits for all the leagues avaible in the game. So you just have to choose which kit do you want for the referee before playing a match.

You have to extract the files in Woosaah's Editor directory to make it work (by default: "C:\Program Files\Woosaah Ruggby 08 Editor"). Then select the Rugby 08 patch, and in the "ImpBig" command line select the "ImpBig" file inside Woosaah's Editor folder.
