I hope he does come back and does well. I thought Henson probably has (or had) the most natural flair in Welsh rugby.

Looking forward to seeing Gav back to his best. He's one of those few players who look dangerous nearly every time they touch the ball, and he's always exciting. Lets hope he stays fit and can regain his form of old.

Well i'm very pessimistic of Mr Henson's return to regional (let alone national rugby) this season. I'm hearing more and more of bad things ..... with the whole strictly come dancing, mountain climbing and still no pre season training... etc etc. Read an interview a few days back and he's still determined to play in a world cup, but saying that he did say he can see himself playing top flight rugby in his mid 30's, not good could mean he's aiming for 2015 world cup i guess theres still hope fingers crossed

Gavin has kept himself in shape. What has thrown him more than anything is the split with Church. For anyone who did not know Henson was a real family man with the kids and looked after them well. Split came around because Church had started to come to big for her boots ... again.

The split has rattled him and its a sad way for a person with so much talent to go.

Henson wants to play in the World Cup.

To do that don't you...you know...have to play rugby?
He might've had a good chance if he'd've come back at the start of the season, what with Jamie Roberts out with his wrist (i'm not sure when he's back, but i think he's missing the AIs?)
    I can't see it happening...

Well Gatland in the Wales on Sunday said that Henson had a chance if he came back soon.

A sort of rumour going round is that Henson is discussing with the BBC about pulling out of Strictly Come Dancing.

Henson wants to make Wales squad. If you ask me he has talent but you need the right attitude and well he'd want to realize he will have a battle to get back in ospreys starting team before Wales will call

I think if he starts one game for the Ospreys before November then he'll be in the squad for the AIs. That's how desperate we are for him. Having said that, I think he's left it too late. If he was actually that serious about playing in the world cup surely he would have participated in pre-season with everyone else..

Why are Wales so desperate for him?
He has a poor attitude and well who's to say he is even good enough anymore like he has missed too much rugby in past few years and as cyril said if he was serious then he'd be working ass off in pre season and the magners to make Gatland and co select him

Well, with Robertson and Hook looking pretty decent, I don't know if he could make a serious bid for a starting spot in the RWC anyway.

Not starting maybe, but he should be in with a shot at the squad if he gets back properly surely?
Wales have a whole load of centres who are good but not quite amazing, so henson could definitely compete with that imo.

    Who's to say
    - Henson is still good enough
    - won't effect squad morale
    - will stick around in rugby

Agreed, but if he has his head in the game, who knows what will happen.
I think Henson at 12 and Roberts at 13 would be a midfield combination to rival others, but I have been impress with Hook/Bishop and Hook/Roberts.

Well lads we can delay that thought of a return as he is doing strictly and gav reckons he'll be good because he has always had good feet in rugby

At least the Super 14 has it's own twat of the calibur the HEC has had to suffer for years.

Well, a replacement twat since Justin Marshall moved north.

He was involved in the new Wales kit launch, including a 100ft banner of him in it in Cardiff

The WRU says the marketing campaign includes "stars of past and present".

Take your pick which category Gavin falls under.

Henson due to appear on Strictly Come Dancing a day after insisting he'll return to rugby.

Who the hell is his Sports Agent?! Darren Lamb out of Extras?!

On a side note, has anyone considered the possibility that the BBC are indeed ****wits and got it wrong? It's already well documented how much disdain for club rugby (union) the BBC London offices has.

Strictly ends in January, so he could technically make the 6N, as Gatland has told him to do for a WC spot.
Still, he will need club rugby under his belt beforehand, and who knows where, with the Wasps rumours now.

He's still got a year left on his contract at Ospreys, hasn't he?
Though he might not get a massive amount of gametime there (though the same could be said of Wasps, with Waldouck and Flutey both ahead of him)

Yes, but it is believed (unconfirmed) that is agents are looking at trying to have him released from the contract.
I almost feel that playing rugby outside of Wales for a few season could do him some good and get his head in the game.
