So what if the listed players could get into the Scottish team? How should it affect our opinions of how they conduct themselves on the field (and off it) in terms of behaviour? Not at all I say.

I just read what was reported, if what I wrote is wrong why don't you say what happened?

Near the end of the second year, in a match at Wasps, came the triple accusation of gouging which arrested Hartley's rapid progress.
A couple of years ago I was bit of a dickhead but I wouldn't be playing for England now if I was a liability.

Second point... What does it have to do with the first? I fail to see how your skill level should make people more lenient on your thuggery? (Not that I am saying the noted English players are thugs, just getting the point across)
The point is mate that my reply was in responce to the poster stating that the likes of Lawes etc should be dropped from the England team.

First point, once you have served your ban as per the rules you are free to continue playing. Both Ashton and Lawes have served there bans and that's it. They have not been treated any different to anyone else.

I just can't understand why you would call for England to drop players so as a nation we are more loved. We all know England will never be loved and it would never happen and when your own team would take those four players like a shot if they could.

Second point. I prehaps could have made it better. All fours of those players could get in the Scotland team. Would Andy Robinson drop them as the poster is saying England should. No of course he would not so why would England.

I seem to remember Hartley biting some guys ear off early in his career, never liked him since, cheap shot on McCaw in last November internationals, tried to get Wannenburg sent off in Heinken cup last season versus Ulster (I am sure his portfolio dosent end there). He should not be playing, simple as that. Children are watching these games iswell. I seem to remember Lancaster wanting to clean the slate with these undesirables, he should have started with Hartley. Tuilagi-Ashton punch up last season was very distasteful and disgusting.
England have finer players than this skill or no skill, this sort of stuff should NOT be accepted.

I'm not in the slightest bit surprised you form an opinion based on what is written in the media instead of watching an incident and forming your own coherent opinion.

If it hadn't been against Haskell, at Wasps, in a pre-HEC semi-final (against Wasps), when the Media were so far up their backsides it was unbearable, and Jeff "Once a Wasp, Always a Wasp" Probyn wasn't hizzonor (although Blackett also has that slanted opinion)... Well, Wasps media machine used to be the envy of every club. Dallalglio making calls for Hartleys (lifetime) ban within 24 hours to anyone who'd listen and Haskell bringing in an expensive London prosecution lawyer to a disciplinary hearing. Yeah, obvious where that one is going. And the real crime - Looking to grap a handful of scrumcap in a ruck and making "Illegal contact with the eye area". Not "gauging", illegal contact with the eye area.

I guess this is the moment where some know-it-all posts that completely-out-of-context picture of Ross Ford being shoved away, posting the mandatory "yeah, but..." comment.

I don't think Ross Ford would be into eye gouging, he is a qualified doctor isn't he? surely he would know better than that?!

So I take it you have a dislike of Warburton for performing a very dangerous tackle that could have broken a mans neck in front of a hugh television audience.

Yes I do KNOW what I'm talking about. I would like to see rugby kept clean and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this what Lancaster is trying to achieve, but yes, let's get back on the topic of the game! I'm just expressing my opinion here. I don't like dirt and no I didn't like Warburtons spear tackle! end of debate

    Fair enough, points misunderstood then.

Jeffrey received a six-month ban from the SRU whilst Richards was given a one-match sentence from England.

Ok this could be seen as the Englishman getting off with a lighter sentence

He probably also wants the Under 18 results to be counted if Scotland can win there (And yes that is a shot at allowing 16 year olds to vote, the Quebec separtist party here in Canada instantaneously copied the SNP policy idea upon hearing it LOL)

On to the serious stuff, this is an intruiging matchup with Scotland having a serious chance at pulling out the win. I still think the depth of the English squad will prevail but they might not be able to gel on the field in the first game of the 6N.

Remains an oddity for me. Moderately-warmed to the guy in recent years, despite his persona being the "all about me" type. His past indiscretions off the field (expulsion, vitriolic harassment of his ex's other half, etc) have him tainted in my eyes, but he has improved. He still loiters around in the centres far too much for my liking and is very much of the "gym rat" mentality (a plague that seems to have spread throughout English rugby), but he does bring a certain something.

I think that everyone needs to move from England's terrible world cup. As an english man living in ireland, i've been getting a lot of greif about it and people saying that England are going to fall apart this 6 nations. But with the arrival of the new coach, I think that things are looking up. It is clear that Lancaster knows what he is doing and isn't listening to any crap and doubts that people are giving. Yes England might not win this game as they are a young side, but I think Chris Robshaw has the makings of a good play, and from his performances at Quins there is no doubt he is going to be a bigger player in Englands future!

    All the best boys!

I initialy thought this was a joke, the reasoning behind this is massively flawed Why would a team drop its best second rower, its top try scorer and it brightest prospect/ most dangerous ball carrier this is crazy a rediculous statement. Ashton was our top try scorer at the world cup rediculous to drop him for strettle,
On a second note i think Haskell would be desirable since he played well at the WC and his rugby has improved generally over the last 18 months

As much as people don't want to admit it: Haskell is a good rugby player.
Going off of the O2 Inside Line videos he seems like he'd be a funny guy to have around as well (like Andy Powell on the Lions DVD).
