I thought Lawes played well when he came on: Yes he got ripped, but he made tackle and hit rucks hard.

    Next match we should:
Start Lawes for Botha, bring Sharples in for Ashton, put Hodgson and Simpson(?) on the bench for Flood and Youngs.

Farrell and Dickson going off lost us that game.

Hopefully Cuthbert gets cited for his cheapshot on Parling.
Should have been a yellow for Robshaw for taking Warburton out in the lineout aswell. Should he get cited, it's bloody dangerous, more so than a spear because the player's coming down from much greater height. It might not have been fully intentional from Robshaw, but if you come across the line you take that chance of taking out the supporting players.

Will only get better. And don't people harp on about good teams being able to win when they're up against it. To win, whilst playing poorly, against an England team playing very well away from home, losing one of your main players in Jamie Roberts, and being a man down for 10mins, is surely a good result, even if the performance was nowhere neer what was expected.

Youngs was poor again. Foden failed to find touch on several crucial occasions. Crashton didn't look like he knew what he was doing half the time.

Agreed, while it wasn't as blatant as one in a previous match (was it a Scottish player doing it? Can't remember), it was more Robshaw colliding and then grabbing hold than throwing him down - still a yellow.
If players can get carded for accidently running in to a player jumping for the ball, then that was.

On the same hand, though, North threw the ball in to touch in a clear try scoring opportunity, which itself is a yellow.

Swings and roundabouts though, ref missed some both ways and Wales came away with the win.

It seemed to me that neither of the refs wanted to take responsibility for a decision on that "inconclusive" try in a game littered with refereeing errors. I would speculate that even if this were to be a try, Flood would have probably missed.

Halfpenny MOTM. He was decisive both in defense and offense, +the kicking.

Agree completely. It wasn't obvious at first whether North slapped the ball into touch, but on the replay he did. Will have to see the Cuthbert punch again, but it looked like nothing to me, just Parling not giving the ball over, and Cuthbert giving him a tap, I may be completely wrong though.

Yeh I thought Halfpenny was awesome today. His positioning was spot on all game. His kicking, bar the first miss was good, and he stepped into the 10 position when Priestland was off well. He gave everything aswell, he'll be sore tomorrow, because he was completely battered, yet never stopped running at Tuilagi!

Barritt was good for England. His defense today was phenomenal, planty of contenders for man of the match, but overall Warburton deserved it.

Good opportunistic work from Scott at the end, proper tense finish. 'Twas lucky for us though, I'm convinced it was a try, but I'm not complaining.

Could someone tell me what Priestland was sin bined for? It just seemed like a normal tackle for me, was he offside or something? Must of missed (or conviniently ignored) it.

In the heat of the moment it looked, to me, like he punched Parling in the back, then when he didn't move he punched him in the side of the head/face.
Will have to watch again, though, but on first view it looked bad to me.

Absolutly gutted that England didnt get the win, excellent performance! Credit to Wales who stuck at it for the full 80, they are seriously showing they have what it takes to go all the way this year, cannot wait for the match up with France.
Warburton and Halfpenny were brilliant for Wales.
    Farrell and Tuilagi for England.
England have got to get rid of Youngs, he's very out of touch and needs time away from the international stage. We looked so much more composed and dangerous with Dickson on...

    Worlds most overrated player.

England should have won. They were the better team and as a neutral I thought Wales got the benefit of some refereeing decisions. But it was Steve Walsh so no surprise.

Every time Stevens comes on I swear at the TV and predict an infringement within 5 minutes. I've never been wrong about that so far. He needs to be dropped from the team.

Need Paul Doran-Jones in for Stevens, in addition to my team above
    Stevens hasn't been great.
When did he start wearing a scrumcap again? When he first came back from his ban (and was on good form....) he wasn't wearing one. Now he is, and is on poor form....

Full of emotion at the moment. Grinning from ear to ear. Will comment on this amazing match later on

Just a sub, presumably they'd planned to take him off at X point in the match, as he won't be as match fit as the rest of the side due to his time off injured.

Rpbshaw took the lifting players out by crashing into them. I said it wasn't fully intentional, but he jamp across the line which is always risky.. Mistakes are still dangerous, as demonstrated by accidental high tackles, tackles in the air etc. still being yellow carded.

****. Wales really sneaked that one. For me the difference was the bench, better squad won on the day, but only just.

Stevens came on and once again gave away a needless penalty. Youngs came on and was dogshit. Lawes came on and amidst some good work, got ripped for the try. 3 moments that changed what otherwise was a game that England were shading.

As predicted Wales' 'giant backs' were pretty much nullified. Roberts was bullied out of the game by Tuilagi, Priestland and Cuthbert were anonymous. The game was won with Wales' front row having the ascendancy and England once again missing a proper openside horribly. Very dubious about the final play- not about the TMO, just the lack of penalty advantage. One of a couple poor decisions from Walsh, although he was better than usual.

For Wales? Well done, just about deserved a triple crown and are certainly the best team in Britain. But they're far from what the media cracks them up to be, as we always knew.

For England? Encouraging signs of rebuilding, I'm not too disheartened with a defeat. Those are the kind of games that a more experienced and settled side will win.

What needs to be sorted? Stevens cannot be in the 22 - his scrummaging is suspect and he always gives away completely needless penalties, usually when the referee has spent a minute shouting at him to stop. PDJ is the next in line. Lawes I don't think has earned his starting berth back, especially since I thought Parling was excellent today. Openside still needs to be sorted - it cost us once more today. I see no reason to change 8-13 at all, but Youngs surely has played his way out of the 22 - he should never have come on. And Ashton's done nothing of note for a while now, I think Sharples deserves a shot.

    Yeah, think that's fair.

Sweet win for Wales - the guy who farked it up got the crucial score, great piece of work by Williams.

Impressed by Halfpenny for years. He's coming into his own. Had a good defensive game today, but didn't fit in at 10. England have to use their bright sparks more - Foden & Ashton given no chance.

I would have given the Strettle try, except didn't see downward pressure. It was definitely grounded over the line.

Farrell's chip at 31m was great, pity he looked for support instead of chipping it again. Would have been beaurifool score.

Beaten Ireland and England away. Beat a dogged Scottish team at home. When people play the better teams they tend to raise their game. Wales were clinical when they needed to be and showed character when they went down to 14.

Media hype, yea whatever ... not like the English media does the same now or in the past?

    Massive result!

Nobody thought this was gonna be easy... the fact we ground out a victory at HQ when we weren't allowed to play well is so much more satisfying than an easy win.

To force a 7 point win when we went down to 14 and were playing badly (yes I'm talking tp you Rhys priestland) proves more about this side than any sort of convincing win...

After all... very few people thought this was gonna be easy.

Ps. England and in particular Farrell were awesome.
