Yeah, you're right. Well, except for most of the games in this tournament that is.

France England yesterday summarised why I find football so boring (I still try and watch England games). For about 80 of the 90 minutes the ball is passed pointlessly backwards and forwards between the keeper defence and midfield, by unskilled chavy men. You then get about 5 minutes of quality attacking football by genuinely skilled guys, and the remaining time is taken up with lazy c*nts rolling around on the floor pretending to be injured.

Well, a lot of that was down to the way England set their stall out. They're not a good team to watch tbh. Football is like any other sport, you have great matches and poor ones. For example, the Italy - Spain game was absolutely top notch.

Yes, but that has been so for a while... It's Agony to watch England as the National team play. While the Premier League is the most exciting league to watch. If English players started to play elsewhere like Seria A or La Liga, I wonder how that would influence their style of play, because to me it's pretty predictable.

Also England might have good midfielders like Gerrard, but you need a creative pocket rocket, someone that just pops up when you least expect it and then turns the game on its head, guys like Nasri, Iniesta, Fabregas, Rosicky are just a few that has an individual influence on the match.

With France, I would seriously consider another Striker to assist Benzema up front, It was clear that the English marked him and this made the space a lot less and the defence very tight in the box, by adding a striker the french can play wider, with their midfielders coming into the middle banging long shots in at will...

My God, I assume a few of you caught the England match tonight. As usual they manage to make it as agonising and painful to watch as possible...

Fair play, they dug themselves out of a hole tonight and I haven't really seen England do that since they came back and beat Cameroon in the 1990 WC... its a good sign.

For the sort-of neutral that was a good game to watch. England attacked well but couldn't defend.

So England go out. In the QF. In penalties. Again.

    They did well to get it to penalties though as Italy should have won it well before then. Andrea Pirlo was magnificent and cool as you can get in the shootout;

So its Portugal v Spain and Germany v Italy in the semis

Pirlo had nerves of steel to do that, and it was perfectly executed too.

Really looking forward to the semi's. The four teams all deserve to be there, although I hope Portugal can get past Spain who can be fairly dull in their game plan.

A nil nil draw, who'd have thunk it. Now 30minutes of more dross before they basically flip a coin to see who wins.

Well, that certainly didn't go the way I thought it would...

Balotelli had a blinder last night... But the man who's the key for Italy is Cassano.

I can now see that Italy can upset Spain in the finals... it's a nice set up... the 2 previous World Cup winners going at it in the Finals...

It's one of those you think "has he turned a corner, will he become the player we know he can be" or its a case of going back to his previous self, blowing up bathrooms and the like. We shall see

I love Balotelli. He's everything that's wrong with football, but to such an extent that he's basically a caricature/cartoon character

    That's a near perfect explanation!

I have him in my Fifa 12 Career Mode team... And his antics is quite funny... He'll fit in nicely in South Africa... Being black and all that...

Actually the key man is Pirlo. Give him time and space he will hurt you with those long raking passes. Close him down like Croatia did in the 2nd half with Modric and Italy's attack is closed down.
