Sounds like he's going well even saying his knees are felling really strong. Hard to believe he's 27.

Good news. For 60 odd minutes against The Ospreys we looked pretty weak up front.
Stand up for the Ulster Men!!!
I've heard that he has no cartilage on his knee anymore, is that true?
If I were the Ulster management I would just play him in the Heineken Cup matches and just a couple of warm up bench cameos in the RaboPro12 beforehand. He is just so injury prone, I can't see him playing long past 30 to be honest.
Yep, he's well fecked. If he's still walking by the time he's 50 I'd be quite surprised. At the very least he's going to have so very bad arthritis in that knee.
I'm inclined to agree with Psychic Duck. I don't think he has more than about 15 games a year in him at this point. Heineken Cup games and internationals is probably about all he can afford if he doesn't want to be a cripple.
Judging from what he's saying, he's recovered fairly well - maybe better than people expected. It's possibly not wise to take everything said about an Irish players' injury at face value, or half the current team would have retired already.
Don't get me wrong, it's still not ideal, but I think some people overstate it. And certainly, if you want him to be near peak condition for those big games, he needs proper gametime leading up to them - so psychic duck's proposal isn't really practical.
It's also not practical unless you've got lots of people with tranquilliser guns nearby when you tell him he's not playing.
