    Radical re-structuring of Welsh rugby

So plans have been put in place for the radical re-structuring of the professional game in Wales. From what I gather, it consists of the following:

    - A new professional body will be set-up, made-up of the four regions and the WRU.
    - All regional players will be contracted to this new professional body.
    - Pooled money and shared resources.

There's still a lot of unknowns, such as whether this will allow the distribution of players among the regions, whether the WRU will have more control over them etc. Will this increase the player budgets of the regions? The WRU have also alluded to the possibility of taking over the Dragons if new investors aren't found, if that happens, what role will they have in this new structure? Where do RGC 1404 sit?

It's all very interesting, and imo a step in the right direction. It's great to see this sort of collaboration between the regions and the WRU, especially considering where we were a few years ago!

No reports of this on the BBC + no mention of it by pundits during the weekends games!

Thought this would be pretty huge news, because it's a completely new system.

i did read a little about this (albeit on wales online too so taken with a pinch of salt). im unsure what this would accomplish for the regions as a whole, if only money is pooled and not players. i guess it means the WRU could be more wise in the money spending and it would actually benefit the dragons greatly as they could become more competitive but as for the other regions i dont see how it would help them, as surely some of their money would then have to be shared

Do the WRU not have the money to buy out the regions?
