Bigger comeback than Twickenham needed now….

Can’t pretend some of the decisions have been balanced but Ireland when they hit their stride are just something else to behold. It’s a fitness and physicality that’s just astonishing.

As we said after the 6N there is a big gap between Ireland/France and the others.

I was saying it more tongue in cheek that people were saying France and New Zealand might be uncooked going into quarters as they only had one competitive game in the group. Whilst South Africa and Ireland won't because they had Scotland in the group. But Scotland are being blown apart by Ireland. It was actually a compliment to Ireland!

It's a combination...

So, having all academy products able to stay at their clubs through larger budgets is a positive.

Also having those players get a tax rebate for staying with those high playing clubs adds to that.

A provincial system that has heritage and culture.

Dublin becoming the best tax haven in the west has helped th IRFU.

A clever recruitment policy ensuring overseas talent qualifies as Irish.

And a talented coaching set up.


There are a host of factors but these are just some that help
