3rd test - Australia v British & Irish Lions

Congrats Wallabies on a well fought and much deserved win. Hopefully that serves as a springboard for the games against SA and other SH sides.

Andy Farrell is right to have a core of Irish players that he trusts but unfortunately he got a few selection calls badly wrong as he prioritised shoehorning his son and players like Aki into the test 23 at the expense of other better options. He also had no backup to Itoje in the lineout which was a mess after he went off. Freeman going off shone a light on the selection errors as Jones was shunted out to the wing which left a very weak midfield.

The Lions bench has played better than the starters

But most of the lions bench ain't Irish, so Farrell aint gonna start them

How on earth Jac Morgan didn't start all three tests is a crime.

According to all the data, Morgan has been the best back row for the Lions, pretty sure Farrell n co had access to all that data, but that didn't stop him, not once but twice overlooking him for a starting spot

But I'm sure Farrell has a man crush on Curry.

Earle done more in 20 mins than Conan has done in 3 games. Disgusting loyalty from Farrell for Irish. The man just like big lumps all over the pitch who can run into brick walls, The likes Aki, Conan, Berne etc

Ryan over Cummings was an utter scandal. Ryan done nothing but look gormless all tour and it was his gormlessness was the reason he had to be taken off when he was knocked out by Skelton's knee to the head coz that was down to his lack of ability and technique in knowing how to tackle
The Lions had 9 nine players 30 n above, that's too old and we saw the difference when young Morgan and Earle came on.

More instinctive players who play what they see rather than from a script. The like Morgan, Earle, Pollock hardly weaken the side.

How up for it woud have those been over guys who've been on the lash the last few days n been flogged to death the last 2 weeks ? The test teams had a feeling of them being picked in June, n then adjusted 4 injury,

Also, sometimes you realize the importance of players when they're not there and Itoje going off was massive

Fair play Aus only one team deserved to win that, so impressed with JS he’s building something here especially compared to where they were when he took over, he’s soo good at getting the best out of his players and building the game plan around his players strengths rather than what he likes as a coach if only England coaches could learn from it. Well done Auz, can’t agree with Biggar weather didn’t help anyone, they had better hands and if anything have a more creative running game and would be more negatively impacted by the weather let’s not make excuses here, congrats Auz.

Harry Wilson looks like every union worker in Chicago.

The bad hair, chubby neck, weird arm hair, beer belly. It’s all there. Glorious specimen.

Can anyone shed any light on why van der flier got no test time on tour? Especially being coached by Farrell at Ireland. I highly rated him as one of the best in the squad going in to this series.

After all the stuff about 3-0 and performance is all that matters that’s really quite funny. Well done Aus!

Can’t say I’ve found these Lions particularly lovable from the nonsense squad reveal onwards,

And wtf are they doing playing rugby in August?? I’m sure the clubs will be thrilled about how little they’ll see their top players next season.

Seem to have lost a bit of the essence of what a tour is really. Felt like little little of the usual community/local/fan engagement.

Love the Lion's, getting to shout for players from nations I wouldn't normally. Quality of the squad they never really got going save a purple patch in the first test, was a little disappointing.

He looked jaded throughout, but then so did Conan, and Curry.

I would have started VDF in test 1, I think he would have grown into it like Beirne did, he was poor pre test but after test 3 aside from Itoje I think he was out best tourist eventually.

Good result for Aus,
They really need to try and keep white for the rest of the year, I know he said he's finishing international rugby today but he said he's not retiring until the end of the year soooo....
Ryan lonergan plays similar. Needs to be brought in

Lions nowhere near today. Intensity just a couple of percentage points down and accuracy horrific. Knock on after knock on cost them any continuity.

Australia need to take this into the Rugby Championship now and keep upping that intensity, learning in those tough games with NZ and SA

Its a Welsh tactic... first 6 weeks of the season is the only time we will get any points hahahahaha

Honestly we just played badly, we bearly attacked when we did have balanced team, we had no possession, we just didn't do anything.

Bench had a 6/2 failed hard when we lost a winger. Aki Faz in any way is not a strong centre parntnership. Is Kinghorn a winger?

No saying Aus wernt good but we were just bad.

Andy Farrell should have put some fresh blood in the team today, but no. This loss is mostly on him, wrong and boring selections with very little x factor out there. Overall one of the least entertaining tours I have ever seen.

Despite losing the series, I actually think the Wallabies will end the tour the happier side. To me, the Lions have underperformed given the talent that they had on paper. Australia dominated large parts of the last 2 test matches. Aussie rugby still has a pulse which is good to see. I think Schmidt got his selection wrong in the first test which is why we dominated. The Wallabies look good in tests 2 and 3.

Simply put, Andy Farrell got it wrong.

Should've been a 3-0 series.
Hindsight’s a wonderful thing, anything but a win would lead someone to say the same thing, it’s a unique balance picking from 4 teams getting them to gel contending with injuries etc etc, he’s probably forgot more about rugby than the collective here will ever know, to assume a 3 win victory is far too arrogant and the Aussies proved to be much tougher than anyone anticipated I think your taking a lot away from them here.

Agreed. I feel like we barely saw him play early on and I’d assumed it was because they were saving him for the tests.

Fin Russell being awarded man of the series is a shocking decision. He was poor in the first half last week and was part of the reason the Lions lost today. He couldn't change tactics to suit the conditions.
