Farage claiming it was the police not releasing the identity of the suspects is such a lying sack of **** take on what's been happening. Not revealing the identity is fairly standard and occurs in thousands of cases across the country without any riots. What caused the riots was the far right filling that gap with lies and then getting violent off those lies due to living in information bubbles.

Farage himself had helped stoke these, despite being able to access the truth through MPs privileges. He either made no attempt to, or knew the truth but intentionally lied with Stockport. It's infuriating that nobody is properly hauling him up on the claim that not revealing the identity is the problem rather than the far right intentionally lying to stoke hatred being the problem.

They know full well what they are doing. It's a deliberate tactic to raise fear, fuel unrest and destabilise society. They are not discussing subjects in good faith. Tommy Robinson is even worse and yet you have far right muppets posting things like "Tommy for Prime Minister" in comments sections of articles. The dude is a criminal who uses a false name and a fake passport FFS.

Yes people have genuine worries and fears but bringing rape and women/child safety into the discussion is a deliberate tactic to raise fear even more, fuel prejudice and then it spreads like wildfire. Before long every migrant will be tarred with rapist/child attacker brush and then it spreads to ethnic groups including people who were born here. Amazing how more tolerant they are when women are attacked by white British men.

The problem I think the UK has, is that Starmer is already done, bypassing due process and being overly agressive with people who post stupid things on the Internet scares the wider population, and that's going to draw more and more people to the anti illegal immigrants cause.

I think the most simple of simple amongst us can work out on a predominantly white island what the answer might be. If you are white you are more likely to be a rapist. A professional more likely to be engaged in white collar / financial crimes.

If you break down various crimes by offence and location especially London it can be a different picture.

The security risks and concerns of people enter a country undocumented definitely is mainly average Joe's concern.

Public services being run into the ground by the Tories, poor handling of migrant processing also by the Tories causing a backlog and the need to house them in hotels, Brexit and other acts of economic self harm/mismanagement that have led to run down towns/cities and a general lack of prospects across the country.

Let's pin all that on migrants rather than the real culprits. They can't blame the EU anymore and need a new foreign enemy to distract people.

2018 the numbers were around 13k detected entering the UK illegally the figure since 23 is between 40-50k.

I honestly don't think anyone government could solve the housing issue that's causing, where do you put them?. This countries had a housing crisis for years driven by developers and people's greed and desire to make money on property

I've no idea why the figure has jumped so much in these years. Nor do I think the government knows the solution or how to bring down the tensions over this. Tbh I don't either.

I agree with large parts of this, i would add that the conversation from reform types are specifically around mass and illegal migration, and id like to give them the benefit of the doubt (no not the idiots running around in balaclavas).

Blair did contribute to this with his immigration reform, the Tories mishandled it certainly, but with the numbers im not sure any government could have managed it let's be honest.

Theres a video going around of Spanish holiday makers on a beach, and a boat pulls up, 30 odd young men jump off and attempt to run into town, all the holiday makers start wrestling and remanding them, and all I could think of was that those guys arent the problem, why tackle them, if younwant to act go and take the dude driving the boat and even the boat itself.
