A Political Thread pt. 2

Saw a few in Lichfield this morning,
Could be due to the women's world cup tbf (Lichfield has a strong women's side/applied to be in the pro league), but Lichfield also voted heavily for reform in the recent local council elections so

Someone just painted a bench in a local park in the St Georges cross...

I need to say this very clearly, I HAVE NO IDEA WHO DID IT.

All I know is that ive made my 6th complaint of the year, reporting the park isnt getting the grass cut, cleaning the drug paraphernalia, or repairing the broken benches, im sick of having to litter pick it all the time...

Interested to see what the council do though!

Andy Burnham "People need to chill out a bit, enjoy the summer, enjoy Oasis". I like Andy Burnham.

I mean he's right. The migrant crisis is one problem among many that needs addressing but it's just becoming a single issue bandwagon for people to channel their discontent and hate largely because there is a foreign enemy attached to it. Ten years ago it was the EU/Poles/Romanians and ten years from now it'll be another group. Leaving the ECHR will be the new Brexit that will dominate the news until the next GE.

I was at the airport a few days ago and overheard a guy who looked in his 60's saying he was moving to Thailand because he was sick of migrants. He was asked what they had specifically done to him and he couldn't answer and just said he was sick of them. People are attributing every little problem in their lives to migrants.

An ex colleague who knows someone who works in a Royal family residence told me that Charles had just spunked over £2 million on new clocks in one of his many residences. Between that, Brexit and 15 years of Tory mismanagement/corruption people standing outside hotels with flags are looking in the wrong place.

Lucky for him some countries are tolerant of migrants isn't it.

"Thing about these migrants is they don't even try to assimilate into our culture. Now, where can I get a full English and play some bingo"

Yeah… like that's the reason he's picked Thailand.

A cover story as convincing as the one with the dead nun on the front page of King and country.

I think part of the issue is, that the Labour supporters have jumped on the pro Migrant/asylum seeker/refugee/illegal bandwagon, and not its politically useful to bash them over the head with it.

This is an issue Farage will ride the wave of, and it has to be treated with common sense and not abject promotion.

In politics perception is king

I hate hypocrites like him. WTF does he think he’ll be if he moves to Thailand? The boot will be on the other foot mate.

Labour will be delighted that he has given the net migration figures for August a boost. Hopefully more like minded people follow his lead.

Would be fitting if far right Thai nationalists started protesting outside wherever he is staying holding up signs "STOP THE PERVERTS"

Elon already went down that road with 'pedo guy' Going by today's posts it appears he had a point

Capital gains tax on first properties over a certain amount or changes to council tax don't seem a bad idea tbh.

Council tax changes will need handling with great care after the poll tax and especially given the state of many communities.

I'm on board with the CGT on first properties though which I think is the norm in most other European countries.

Surely if your going for the ladyboys you are pro-trans.

Seems like a UK issue with those pesky single males.

Single male going to Thailand or Vietnam = likely to be a sex pest with a passport.

Single male arriving on a small boat = likely to be a sex pest without a passport.
