A great big Munster thread

He doesn't have a deal at Leinster so imagine he is trying to get one from Munster.
Ah fair. I mean he’s coming at a good time to try and snatch a contract as a centre. I can’t really remember him from his time at 20s, but we are so barebones there that Jack O’Donoghue did 20 mins at 13 a few weeks ago.

The new Academy recruits are Emmet Calvey, Conor Kennelly, Oisín Minogue, Eoghan Smyth and Tom Wood.

As previously confirmed, Fionn Gibbons, Shay McCarthy, Evan O'Connell, Ruadhán Quinn and Kieran Ryan have been promoted to the senior squad for the 2025/26 season.

Ben O'Connor will spend one more year in the Academy before moving up to the senior squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

After completing his third year in the Academy this season, prop Darragh McSweeney extends his time in the Academy after injury hampered his development.

Fairly conservative academy intake, I would imagine they will do a second intake at some stage, or a pretty big intake next year looking at the Irish Under 19s with Michael O'Sullivan, James O'Leary, Jamie Conway all being pretty likely to make an academy . Calvey definitely the most important from this batch for us to get into a pro environment ASAP. Tough to know how good many of these guys are after a tough 20s year under Doak

Not sure where EdEd is. Must have a bump. No Under 20s or senior internationals made available. Don't think this is being streamed.

Afraid we've gone woke again with two teams. Teams are a real mix and match. Good news is our long term injured (Salanoa, Kleyn and Edogbo) seem to be making their way back to full fitness.

Rowntree parted company with Munster weeks after that Zebre defeat and, while Murray doesn't shed a whole lot of light on that chapter, he wasn't sorry to see Rowntree go.

"By this stage a parting of the ways was unavoidable," he writes.

"I won't be two-faced here and say I was sorry to see him go. In all honesty, I wasn't. I will let other players speak for themselves, but the way he'd spoken to myself and one or two of my close friends in the squad was, at times, unacceptable.

"I didn't rate him at all and, in his last season, even the more younger, innocent players were starting to see through him. Personally, I didn't see a lot of rugby knowledge there."

Murray not holding back... When's POMs book out?

Speaking of, does he have a club for the season? Thought he was going to go away for one more year.
