It's more emotive, because it's being engineered as such by Republicans with an agenda who are inserting themselves into proceedings as much as possible. I haven't seen a single elected democrat call for anything but keeping calm and expressing condolences. I have absolutely seen threats and calls for retribution from elected republicans, again well before the suspect was in custody. Trump has just said he has no interest in fixing the country or mending divides.
I don't think any elected dems called for violence or encouraged riots after the Floyd incident (in which, as a reminder a police officer, someone who is supposed to maintain peace and order murdered a black guy for using a counterfeit $20 dollar bill, not comparable in my opinion to an unaligned nutjob killing someone), and at least the outrage had a purpose and some positive outcomes - ie getting the officers involved held accountable.
