"The White House and President Trump’s allies suggested that he was part of a coordinated movement that was fomenting violence against conservatives — without presenting evidence that such a network existed. America has seen a wave of violence across the political spectrum, targeting Democrats and Republicans.

On Monday, two senior administration officials, who spoke anonymously to describe the internal planning, said that cabinet secretaries and federal department heads were working to identify organizations that funded or supported violence against conservatives. The goal, they said, was to categorize left-wing activity that led to violence as domestic terrorism, an escalation that critics said could lay the groundwork for crushing anti-conservative dissent more broadly.

Some of the highest-ranking officials in the federal government used Mr. Kirk’s podcast, “The Charlie Kirk Show,” to lay out their plans.

From his official office at the White House, Vice President JD Vance served as a guest host of the podcast, inviting senior members of the administration, including Stephen Miller, the president’s top policy adviser, to praise Mr. Kirk while also detailing their plans to crack down on what they called leftist nongovernmental organizations. The show was broadcast on the television screens in the White House briefing room and in several West Wing offices."

They're not Nazis though.

It'll be just like those corruption investigations of Biden.

The republicans will throw out multiple allegations to the media. And will produce absolutely zero evidence.

Just like how the US navy are destroying boats from Venezuela and killing the crews and provided not one iota of evidence of drugs.

What are your concerns with this?

Is Trump allowed to set the speech parameters a little more narrow and implement a hatenspeech category?

Hahahaha

Maybe if Trump would likely present himself to a jury … as a sympathetic, well‑meaning, elderly man with a poor memory, he would be exonerated of all charges too lol

There also seems to be a lot of talk from the right about how everyone (but not many, if any, democrat leaders) calls Trump a fascist or Nazi and what not but seem to conveniently forget Trump calling opponents fascists, communists etc etc.

To be fair i think thats because Democrats present themselves as the party of empathy, and compassion...

You know my stance, they both as bad as each other, but the consensus is Dems good Reps bad probably globally, with the media machine promoting one side, so in this instance, when a crazy person murders a popular right wing, and uses democrat affiliated (culturally) talking points as justification, the question on Democrat language is legitimate no?

What would I be called , if I posted multiple daily articles of Fox news, TP USA, and the wire?

Also I think youd be surprised, all the key players have done so if my memory serves me right.

You say they're both as bad as each other but I've never seen a president use the kind of rhetoric that Trump does. Biden never stoked the fires like this, nor did Obama or Clinton. Not that I'm aware of anyway.

Well looking at the reaction to Kirk's murder from people like Newsom, Sanders, Biden, Obama etc etc they do seem more compassionate.

Trump has been the main guy ramping up violent rhetoric in my humble opinion.

Even though he has on a few occasions directly quoted Hitler I don't think it's useful to call him a Nazi as in my opinion hating Jews is a prerequisite for being a Nazi and Trump isn't that. However I think it's 100% accurate to say he has, at the very least, an authoritarian streak or fascistic tendencies.

Listening to that full interview on fox and it's so funny/troubling

One of the Fox News guys is begging for Trump to tell everyone to chill out by saying something like

"Charlie wouldn't want people to take revenge"

And Trump says

"Yes, you want to take revenge at the ballot box"

At this point me, and the fox team are going “yes" inside, good job Trump, then he says

"the problem is the ballot boxes are rigged because of mail in voting"

This is so deeply unhinged especially when you put that together with his comment earlier in the interview where he initially admits there are extremists on both sides (and again you think good job Trump well done) and then goes onto say that the right wing extremists aren't really extremists they're just normal people who don't like crime and stuff.

Its mental. They're all the same though.

Maybe but not by democratic presidents. Not to pooh Pooh your point as I don't think anyone should say, or imply, he is exactly like Hitler in 1945. He's more like Hitler in 1923 😉

Biden, Harris, Clinton, Walz, Sanders, Pelosi, Schumer, Obama all off the top of my head... they are pretty key players.

In fact id be a little surprised if there wasnt a Democrat who hasn't called him a fascist, authoritarian, danger to Maerican democracy, Hitler etc infact, I lie, I think there was West Virginia Democrat who refused to use any form of the culture war rhetoric. I might have that totally wrong though

Post the quotes and we can go through them.

As I say, I think it's 100% accurate to say he is a threat to democracy and has authoritarian/fascistic tendencies. That's different o calling him Hitler or a Nazi.

Do you think he has no authoritarian bone in his body?

Actually just to to bring up another point he made in that fox interview but he also praised China, ******* China, for having quick "trials" and said America needs to do some of that as well. Jesus.

From 2023, an article about the prevalence of Trump and his supporters calling Democrats fascists and Nazis...

Thats a fascinating read, the numbers of Reps who call left of centre nazi, and the dems who call right of centre communists really does highlight how stupid the average American is, and I think this is a point we can unify on?

I don’t think the average American is any more stupid than the average Brit to be honest.

Have to be another time, im running into the gym, but they'd be super easy to find.

No **** sherlock, hes gotten into politics! But it's interesting, because I feel that most on these boards lean toward a preference to authoritarian than i do.

I havnt seen thisnquote, but sounds like a leaf out of Starmers book tbh. Every world leader has done so, look at pretty much every world leaders actions, my immediate though is Treudau. Trump would love nothing more to just swing a hammer and imprison whoever he wanted.
