But in all seriousness I'd think Joe Al-Abd will be heavily involved in defence too and this will be an onpaper situation as I've said before, also maybe he prefers forwards coachwho knows

Surprised to see Muir still in the squad, definitely thought he was just there because of Lions absences
Bit surprised to see Lawrence, but guess it's an opportunity for the medics to have a good look at his ankle

Shame for Ojomoh, but we are stacked at centre these days - though Slade is stealing a living there and should be out

Glad to see action finally taken on Theo Dan, though Jamie "big Theo Dan" Blamire doesn't fill me with confidence - hopefully Tigers have him locked in the training facility drilling lineouts 16hrs a day

Was also worried they'd parachute Arundell straight in but thankfully not

Delighted for Seb, though Slade is still stealing a living (surely it was a 2-year central contract to keep him in the country)
Happy they've moved on from Theo Dan, would be nice to move on from Ben Spencer as well - I guess that's a case of waiting for someone (Quirke) to step up.

Happy that Arundell and Farrell haven't been parachuted in without needing to show anything

Pretty much expected squad...happy the likes of Atkinson is kept in.

This is just a get together though and I expect there'll be changes once the season is well underway...theres quite a few players who are on the fringe and will be really pushing their claims for the squad.

There's also going to be some competition for the 'A' team squads.
