USA news & politics

I mean, we can assess what she did though...

Lets discuss strengths, or are we just agreeing with Biden that her combination of skin colour and genetalia creates a great VP?
I would rather discuss how much of a better president she would've been for America and the world.

I made my case earlier by saying she wouldn't have done any of the unhinged, authoritarian, undemocratic stuff that Trump did. I'm kinda silly and kind of think this stuff is really, really important. If you want to frame that as TDS then that is your right.

I honestly don't know much about her "achievements" as VP. I'm sure I could google some and compare them to other VPs.

Mind you, you know who my favourite VP in history is don't you? That's right, my boy Pence and I think you know why which should show you how important, non partisan and fundamental my objections to Trump are. Funnily enough Vance said he wouldn't have done what Pence did on Jan 6th so I guess that makes him awesome to a lot of MAGA voters.

The Clinton's not winning was probably not a bad thing. From what I've heard along with the Obama's they've pretty much been king makers in the Dems for a long time. Unless you get there endorsement to run you've no chance.

I can definitely get why you wouldn't vote for her.

As for Rogan, some of his sportsman and musician interviews are decent.

Lammy didnt go fishing with her
To be honest all governments are finding themselves having to suck up to trump and vance just to avoid trumps vindictiveness

If you can perceive an escalator as a direct attack, imagine ignoring either of them.

Everybody's realised that to get anything from them you need to flatter their egos.

To be fair, Pence did stick to the law and his principles in 6th Jan I suppose you could call that an achievement.

Yeah I get that but shouldn't she have smashed him out the park? This was a long time before MAGA and the cult of personality.
Wait, what?

It was the dawn of MAGA and the cult of personality - the Republican Primary is literally when it all started.
Didn't she also get record numbers of votes? So kinda did smash it out of the park, despite not really knowing how to counter the new politics of MAGA and cult of personality.

But this is exactly the Democrats problem, and soon to be Labour and conservatives too, anything but Trump is a losing strategy, evidenced.

Democrats need to be proactive, and stand for something, not just oppose those who do.

If Harris achievements are that she wouldnt have been Trump for the last 8 months, then what we are talking isnt who is best placed, most qualified, most experienced or has the best attitude, its not even who can win, its get Trumpnout of office by any means necesary, and well that attitude has given him carte blanche.

Did she? I thought Obama beat her in his 2 terms, which due to population growth and voter registration is impressive, especially 2008 vs 2016.

We won't see that again, except for the freak Biden numbers which will probably stand for 20 years hahaha

Did she win the election? No.

Orange man bad is not a persuasive argument.

Effective political movements sell a HOPEFUL vision for the future.

That’s why Labour is failing. They have no message of optimism to unite the people.

Yeah, he invented the internet.

What did Gore actually do in office?

'During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.' - the actual quote rather than the meme. He authored a law which expanded the precursor internet beyond the military and universities. Also did coin the term 'information superhighway'

As a fun fact he was also Tommy Lee Jones' roommate in college.

Fun fact Tim Berners Lee invested http protocols years before Gore got involved.

Gore also pushed the ideas of using chipsets (Clipper Chip) which had backdoors for us government use.

Whether he pushed this as a worldwide standard I don't know, but I suspect it would be.

He then advocated for encryption which have keys accessible by law enforcement/government.

The statements about law enforcement are laudable until it was pointed out that non us countries and companies would ignore all of this which would put the US at an extreme disadvantage.

All he really did was coin a phrase and bring online services to the fore.
