I don't think he's biased necessarily, but there was certainly some interesting decision-making, which makes it hard for players to know what's acceptable.

Exactly this. I don't think refs are ever biased. Sometimes they're out of their depth, sometimes they don't have a feel for the flow of the game, sometimes they're having a bad day, sometimes they aren't getting proper support from their assistants and the TMO.

Just look at Dickson, he does all four every match.

I do think refs can be biased but I don't think it's conscious. The only example I can think of where I'm sure it was conscious bias was Steve Walsh with us in 2013 vs Wales. Wouldn't have changed the result but everything went against us and his history with England prior to that was clear motive.

Walsh was an absolute bastatd to us. I'm going to claim him as the exception that proves the rule.

Hope Searle goes well today. Was pretty good for Bris but very unlucky at Wasps as he earned the starting shirt in great form then had a horrific leg injury, followed by Wasps going bust. Really nice guy to boot.

That said I am rooting for Quins to win this one.
