BBC News - GWR fined £1m over train passenger's death in Bath - BBC News

Sorry but as a society have we completely abandoned the idea that people should be responsible for their own actions? Surely "don't stick your head out of the window of a moving train" with a sign saying not to do it is pretty ******* common sense and if you proceed to do it anyway, that's your own fault? Kinda tired how we have to pander to the most ******* idiotic of society.

I think most of us on here are old enough to remember the public service videos and leaflets at school warning us not to ******* do it. And recall raising our eyebrows at being told something that obvious.

Was there a Quentin Blake one or has my brain made that up?

Anyway let's have another classic:

If these stories of her treatment are true then Israel should expect a backlash.

Another source describing the same and more.

If you accept the word off this kid then your the most gullible person on the planet!

She constantly puts herself in this isreali jail, and then claims shes being 'kidnapped' my armed militia at sea...

In 4 weeks she will make the trip again, on the party boats, with a crate of spring as aid for millions of people, she'll make claims drones are trying to kill her, and that every Isreali has hade their way with her lol

Just let her in to Gaza ffs, let the fun begin!

As much as its commonly sense, the girl was ****** at the time. We've all done stupid stuff whilst very drunk.

Its also a fins not giving compensation due to not enacting on similar incidents of the window type. Key thing is this was a preventable death as shown by safety measures put in after the fact.

I think its one of those sensational storylines but its just us justifying corporate negligence.

If someone chucked themself off a high building or cliff etc whilst drunk or walked out in front of traffic, would we say we'd need to erect barriers to stop it or would we say it is a well known risk and, even drunk, it's their own fault for being so stupid?

I just don't think it's the role of society to anticipate every idiotic thing someone could do that could cause them harm and say it's the responsibility of someone else to prevent it.

Some drunk person may decide it's funny to play chicken with a train coming into a station, would we then fine the station for this if they died or say, even though they were drunk, it was clearly a stupid thing to do and they should know better. Being drunk doesn't absolve you of responsibility for your own actions.

I've known too many people who've used "I was drunk" as a sort of get out of jail free card for things they did.

BBC News - Police to get broader powers to restrict repeated protests

So in response to protests lately revolving around the perception of government heavy-handedness in dealing with protests, the government decides the solution is to give the police even more powers to be even more heavy handed...

This lot really are so detached from pubic perception.

Didn’t you post something a while back about her boat being attacked by Israeli drones or something? What ever happened to that. I heard they set their own boat in fire and blamed it on an Israeli drone but honestly can’t remember. So much BS out there, especially around Greta.

Yet again you don't ******* read the article.

Where has she been absolved from her actions? No compensation has been paid to her family.

We also dont know the circumstances. All it would take was the window to be open her to barf out of it or just been leaning a little from feeling woozy and bam end of life.

(high building almost always have barriers)

And yet the rail company are funded for merely having the possibility that someone could do something stupid. Again, we don't have barriers at platforms to stop people going on the tracks.

Not for merely the possibility. The fact it happened in the past and reports to prevent another loss of life were not acted upon and it happened again.

Since the other loss of life measures have put in place. Thus it was completely preventable and in control of the railway company.

I think the main purpose of the current marches are -

Lift the ban on PA
Solidarity with those arrested showing support of PA.
End the governments/UK involvement in genocide.

From the article I get the belief it's more about putting conditions on crowds like at football matches rather than banning them.

Yes, they were making claims there were 2 drone incidents of attacks, and a video of dropping bombs onto the deck lol...

Noone outside of the floatilla party goers acknowledge any drones, the first was a fire amongst life preservers If I remember correctly, and the 2nd was a flare fired into the wind that drop and started a fire. Id have to go re check, but they fact checked themselves false using video lol. Turkish military / government also confirmed there was no attack.

The first time she was claiming to he abused, kidnapped by armed militia from her boat and not intimidated, video revealed the sweetest arrest ive ever seen hahaha.

Even Hamas are highlighting outrage at Gretas treatement, Hamas are team Greta hahahah
