In 2015 myself and partner bought an electric vehicle, the BMW. She was raving about the grant to help buy it, the cheap electric, cost saving, no tax etc...
I explained to her that thats the sales pitch, the second the scales pivot, and enough people have them they will levy the **** out of them, start a pay to charge system at the pumps, make you pay for apps, and downloads, and it will soon be double the price.
Its taken a bit longer than i expected, i thought by 2020 or so there would be an electric waste tax, city cebtres would pivot from 'green zones' to congestion zones etc.
I hate being this cynical, and i hate that people support this in the name of fairness, when it was always the plan

Not looking forward to my drive home, Aston expressway is definitely gonna have people on the bridges - shutting the schools early, to me, feels a really dumb idea cause you've not got tons more teenagers out in the streets

I think it’s disgraceful. I don’t know how these gangs with masks don’t get arrested. I have lots of friends in the Animal Rights movement and, as soon as you wear a mask on a demonstration, you get arrested ! They are also kettled by the Police, have to stick to a route and are only allowed to say certain things ! A friend lives in Digbeth, he saidnit was a bit eary, same as you, couldnt figure why youd let all the teenagers on the streets to play before hand.

The only reporting i could find this morning proper was the daily mail, sad state of affairs, although i think theres been more reporting all day about the potential.

I'm glad at times like this my commute is either on the train or going round the edge of Brum on the M6. Hopefully when the train goes through Aston nothing stupid happens.
Great Barr is always the crap part of the journey by car.
Saw a whole bunch of police vans go tearing past at one point, must have been 8 of them (guessing heading to villa park behind the planned protests start at 6pm), but other than that it was no different to any other bad traffic day - didn't even see one flag

TBH when it was anounced, the idea was quite exciting, but since the very first anouncement Sultana has been nothing but a toxic element. She anounced the party without authorisation, then argued it wouldnt be called your party, called them all sexist, forced the rest of the board of directors to resign, set up a membership portal independantly, and is now seemingly using the money to get what she wants, which i can only assume is total control.
Take her out of the equation and it stands a chance, but honestly the question is, who saw the anouncement, the original mess and thought, mmmm i wouldnt mind giving them my money, 20k people?!?!?!
It does seem like Sultana is a bit of a problem.
