    URC 2023/2024 Quarter Finals

As expected really. Ospreys battled hard, and faught to keep it close. Munster looked pretty comfortable though, especially in that second half.

    URC 2023/2024 Quarter Finals

Ospreys pack with Lake, Morgan and Tips should be competative with Munster, although Snyman and Beirne are a big upgrade on the Ospreys SR pairing. Owen Williams worries me at 10. He was really poor the last time these sides met, costing the Ospreys any chance of voctory despite controlling...

    URC 2023/2024 - Round 18

But Giles isn't soft defensively! But he's small, so in your mind he must be a poor defender. His main weakness is his earlial game, and he got badly exposed in that aspect a couple of times last season. He seems to have worked on it though, and not had the same issues this season. I've not...

Wales summer Tour of Australia (and 1 off match against SA)

Costellow's defense is the least of my worries! He misses the odd tackle, but is a brave defender to often leads the defensive line and chops guys down. It's the rest of his game that's an issue! We need to be picking players a 10 for how they control the game, and organise the backline/attack...

Liam Williams will probably start for his experience. Issue is that I want to see Winnett continue at fullback, but I'm not sure Liam has the pace anymore to play on the wing. Maybe Liam on the bench?

I'd be close to this, but I'd stary Dyer on one wing with Giles on the other. Can't decide if I'd prefer Watkin or Tompkins at 12, or maybe try Grady at 12 who looked good there towards the end of the Italy game. I'd probably avoid starting Giles and including him on the bench at the same time 😉

I dunno. 22 'aint old, and Cobango has had a serious injury or two in that time as well. Exactly the same as Giles, who was on the cusp of international honours as an 18y/o before being out injured for almost 2 years with an horific injury, followed by a few more injuries in the following years...

I think Jarrod Evans has only played a bit-part role for Harlequins due to a combination of injury and being a ******* moron for chosing to go to a club with a young prodige at 10. Harlequins were never going to drop their poster boy. Surely there were other options where he had a fighting...

    URC 2023/2024 - Round 18

You're too quick to write players off. How you can write Cobango off after barely a handful of pro games (in which he's scored some stunners) is beyond me sorry. Ben Thomas has bumped off other players this season, and I don't agree that he's only performed 2nd half of season. He's been at the...

I can understand some of the experienced selections behind, like Gareth Davies, Hardy, Watkin, Tompkins and Liam Williams. In many cases there's a good argument for other players like Morgan-Williams, Eddie James, Kieran Williams, Cobango; but we can't have a backline full of rookies!

Dunno, that's maybe pushing it too far. Will Reed doesn't look up to it either, full of mistakes. Costellow showed prelnty of promise when he first joined Scarlets from Leicester, but the shitshow that is the Scarlets seems to have really affected him.

Dan Edwards has been far better than Costellow (and possibly Lloyd), so why not introduce someone like that to the squad. Ideally, we'd leave him develop for another year at Ospreys, but needs must sometimes. Is Costellow starts, for me Thoms must start at 12 to take some pressure off, because...

Once again, Gatland makes a bunch of random selection calls! Mathias over Smith - wtf Cory Hill and Screech over Ratti? Bevan over Morgan-Williams - less issue with this, but still. Only one (out of form) 10, although glad to see Thomas in there. Tompkins and Watkin ahead of the likes of Eddie...

Has he played anything other than friendlies yet? Desparate for him to prove his fitness, but he could be nowhere near the same player after the injuries he's had.

    URC 2023/2024 - Round 18

Dupont another. Far from the biggest of players, but for a 9 of his stature he's super physical. Peter Stringer is another scrum half that comes to mind. Looked like he's be broken in two, but mixed it with the best, and never shirked a tackle. Edit. And another 9 that demonstrates this well is...

Wales summer Tour of Australia (and 1 off match against SA)

I thought Shane Lewis Highes went well at lock on Saturday, so could be an option, although quite a similar player to James Ratti who's gotta be the front runner given who's missing. Still not at all convinced with Ben Carter, just doesn't impact games enough, but Gatland likes him, so I'm...

    URC 2023/2024 - Round 18

Always with the negativity dirty harry 😉. Cabango is useless at pro level? Guy's electric, there no substiture for pace, and he's got bags of it. There's no such thing as being too small for international rugby either, enough players have and are demonstrating that inc. Shane, Kolbe, Arendse...

    URC 2023/2024 - Round 18

Scarlets v Drangons match was a bit meh, but the Ospreys v Cardiff game was superb imo. Cardiff played some great stuff, but once again came up just short. Ben Thomas was class I thought, gotta be on the plane to Aus after that performance - possibly straight into the starting 12 jersey. Winnet...

    Welsh squad under Gatland

Rowlands and Jenkins should be our first choice anyway. Then someone like Rhys Davies, Ratti, or Tshiunza who can cover SR and 6 on the bench is perfect.

    Welsh squad under Gatland

Probably one of Wales' best ever players, especially during his first 50-60 caps where he barely missed a game, and always performed. Serious injuries have kinda wrecked the second half of his career unfortunately, which probably drops him down a few places in the 'goat' debate. With Wainwright...
