    Guinness Pro14 - Round 5 enter the 7s refs

Really disappointing result for Edinburgh. Had several chances to win the game but butchered them in what looked like terrible conditions.

    Next All Black coach?

Would love to see Stern Vern in there as part of the support team. He’s DoR at Montpellier these days I think but developed the best team Scotland have had in decades (who have regressed since he left). Not sure about him as HC but he could certainly do a job as defence coach

    Guinness Pro14 - Round 5 enter the 7s refs

Really need to kick on now. Edinburgh have looked the better Scottish side so far

    Question for the Kiwi posters

Hi all, I’m in a protracted debate with my kiwi father (I was born in Scotland, and we’re both Pakeha) about whether England crossing the half way line during the haka was “disrespectful”. To let you know where I stand, I think what England did was breaking a minor rule that was brought in by...

Should we kick the Welsh out? Guinness Pro 14 - Round 4

Done and dusted before half time. Given this is an Edinburgh pack missing McInally Watson Mata Toolis Gilchrist Nel they were very comfortable. Can’t wait for the new stadium to be built though, murrayfield really is a crypt for these games.

    [RWC2019][Semi-Final 1] England vs. New Zealand (26/10/2019)

    England have been phenomenal

    [RWC2019][Quarter-Final 3] Wales vs. France (20/10/2019)

With his history of concussions he really shouldn’t be stressing too much!

    [RWC2019][Quarter-Final 2] New Zealand vs. Ireland (19/10/2019)

Think it shows that the EOY tests, be it June or November, are not a great indicator of how teams will perform when the pressure is on. A global calendar would help to strip out the different stages countries are at in June and November

    [RWC2019][Pool A] Round 4 - Japan vs. Scotland (13/10/2019)

Away was indeed a decent result, I’ll give you that. Followed I think by getting beat by Fiji though. That home game though the Aussies were at their absolute lowest. I remember thinking going into that game “we’re favourites” so while it was good to win, it against poor opposition.

    Scotland inquest

Not sure this is where one wants to get into a debate on the merits of Scottish independence, but you are correct that there is a wide Scottish diaspora (including a significant number of people living in England) who would be eligible for Scotland. On Reiser’s point there are indeed only a...

    Scotland inquest

We have got worst in last couple of years. In hindsight changing coach during the 4 year cycle was a mistake.

    [RWC2019][Quarter-Final 2] New Zealand vs. Ireland (19/10/2019)

I agree except I’d put England above Ireland in terms of teams that worry me.

    [RWC2019][Quarter-Final 2] New Zealand vs. Ireland (19/10/2019)

And in 6 days we can have another round of “respect the haka” chat from all sides :)

    [RWC2019][Pool A] Round 4 - Japan vs. Scotland (13/10/2019)

No idea but remaining Scotland fans are grumbling on the inquest thread. Scotland showed what happens when you mess with the 4 year cycle. Other than the England games, we’ve not really turned in a performance under Townsend. Laidlaw and Barclay should be thanked for their service and waved on...

    Scotland inquest

Scotland will continue to operate at a huge disadvantage to other tier 1 nations due to playing population. The recent performances (games against England aside) won’t have inspired many youngsters to switch from football.

    [RWC2019][Pool A] Round 4 - Japan vs. Scotland (13/10/2019)

Scotland’s execution was poor, as was decision making from Russell. Not taking away from what Japan did, but that was a sub-par Scottish performance.

    [RWC2019][Pool A] Round 4 - Japan vs. Scotland (13/10/2019)

Townsend should walk. Scotland have gone backwards since he took over from Vern
