    Transfers rumours

Didn’t even know he was ever there. In Munster now getting good game time and going ok. Really wish it went well for ROL who I hear went ok last year and by the looks of it is injured or very out of favour this year? Always thought he was a bit of an outlier in that the Leinster and Ireland...

    Transfers rumours

Change was asked for, looks like it’s coming. If they fail to develop these guys questions should be asked, onus on Ulster / Connacht (who I’m significantly less worried about) to prove their worth.

    Transfers rumours

Is O’Brien meant to be O’Loughlin or are Irish exports underperforming so badly over there we both forgot one existed?

    What are you listening to?

I do want to get a record player and start collecting. I reckon I could pick up a few Springsteens, Van Morrisons, Waterboys among a few others second hand to experience that original sound and have a cool shelf. I’ve spent money to see all the above live so wouldn’t feel too guilty not...

    URC 2023/24 Round 14

Thought they’d bow out of the playoff race yesterday but wow. Top 4 are jostling for position I reckon and then 5-11 is insane. This is a really great competition, very very few fleas rubbers whereas at this point in the pro12 about half of all games were.

    URC 2023/24 Round 14

Supporting Munster feels unnatural these days. They’re going very well. RG doing the business.

Lions are clinical asf. Good team.

    URC 2023/24 Round 14

I'd expect that team to beat the Lions in the RDS and be competitive here, hopefully they come back. It’s a second team but not lambs to the slaughter. That was one of the worst calls I've ever seen…

    URC 2023/24 Round 14

    This is very very bad.

    The Leinster thread

82,300 for a Heineken cup match between two teams with no major rivalry (one match in 2011 aside) is insane. Selling out in a day too. Of everything that’s happened in Leinster this week this one is the most unexpected. Know a bunch of people without tickets because they thought they’d be fine...

I thought we’d do well to get 65-70k. That’s stunning. We should sign Dupont in celebration.

70k on the first full day of sales (not even midday yet). Did not expect this at all.

Upper tiers of Croker opened to buy tickets. The people, as a collective, want to be Leinstertained.

    Smoking

Torn on this in inefficient tax jurisdictions. It should work but studies in the UK and Ireland have shown that increasing tax on alcohol doesn’t reduce the quantity of alcohol alcoholics consume but drives them into poverty buying it. Tough balancing act in some cases. Smoking, admittedly...

    The Leinster thread

Between these tickets (very hard to get 5 together like I need (for a mix of Leinster and Saints fans)) and Leinster not having signed anyone or got given a CC it’s been a bad day.

    Irish Provincial Structure

I get that to a degree. One of the IRFUs KPIs is European cups though, and we’ve consistently fallen short, lack of outside talent and not picking up certain types of players has fed into that. I also don’t think many would bat an eye if Leinster kept N’gatai on for the same amount of money...

    The Leinster thread

Ticket pricing is weird. Premium siphoned off for GAA season ticket holders. Hogan and Cusack lower for 75, standard enough. Davin where you’ll be miles from the pitch behind the goal 60, no one’s buying those. Hill 16 for 18, great deal. If the upper stand gets opened it’ll be good...

    A Political Thread pt. 2

It’s a civil case, all grant was ever going to get was monetary damages anyway. Murdoch is protecting his stock price to a degree but his media is so odious that I genuinely doubt this would have an effect. Without this function in court taxes would be far far higher. Most ordinary people who...

    Irish Provincial Structure

Is losing Deegan a negative though? He’s probably not a starter in any province really. There’s a few late bloomers but guys who don’t make it at Leinster generally aren’t points of differences. Certainly not the guys who move in their late 20s that a better import could be found for a cheaper...

    Irish Provincial Structure

No I do get that but Cork and surrounding areas is where the players are being produced right? Having players, S&C coaches and support staff etc.. based in Cork would help a lot in that case. I know for a fact that when Bryan Cullen was Leinster’s S&C coach he worked with all of the top schools...
