Converting from a back to a forward.

Now why would you go and do something like that? Injury? Whenever I hear about someone making that sort of move, it usually has to do with an injury.

Converting from a back to a forward.

I thought the same thing when I read his post. I'm not even sure it's necessary to be that big to play flanker at the club level. As you've already mentioned, work rate and fitness are paramount.

Brisbane outfit in for SBW and Cooper

The first underlined point I'll agree with as Union defenses aren't allowed to be nearly as organized due to the set "phases" of play seen in League but the second point...oh no no no my friend...

Brisbane outfit in for SBW and Cooper

Agreed, although he's clearly more comfortable playing the 13 man code due to his upbringing and unique skill set. Also, I really believe that if NRL salaries were equal to those seen in France, he would never have switched codes. Bottom Line: He's a really, really good Union player but a...

    Stupid things

I catapulted myself into a 20 stone prop who was barreling down field after a pick n' go...obviously attempting to keep him out of the try zone. Needless to say, I injured my shoulder...but not from the initial impact oddly enough... from his weight landing on my shoulder when I got him...

    Size, weight and position

I've seen guys with a similar build playing half back, 1st 5 and fullback but you've really got to make sure that your tackling, passing and kicking are up to snuff before making the switch to any of these positions as not much is required of wingers at the club level(probably why you're...

    Northern Hemisphere vs Southern Hemisphere?

Pretty consistent theme from what I've read so far on this thread.

What an extraordinary contribution...thank you for enlightening us.

    Northern Hemisphere vs Southern Hemisphere?

Uh-oh, looks like I'm surrounded... but I won't go down without a fight! I'll say it again... 1) Super Rugby > Heinekin Cup 2) Currently...Giteau and Carter are head and shoulders above Wilko. Saying Wilkinson is the best flyhalf in the world is like saying O'Gara is the best flyhalf in...

    Northern Hemisphere vs Southern Hemisphere?

Let's review my highlighted points shall we? 1) LMFAO...though I agree that the Tri-Nations is a joke compared to the Six Nations, the other points in your "opening" are ridiculous. The overall quality of rugby played in Super Rugby exceeds that of the Heinekin Cup by a fair margin. I'll agree...

    rugbys greatest tries

Cullen v Scotland '96...There is absolutely no better illustration for a player having a "nose for the try line" than this exhibition by Cullen.

    Real rugby boots

LOL...not quite. I prefer Umbros Specialis because they are some of the lightest , most versatile and most comfortable boots on the planet for the price. As I said before, Specialis work wonders on firm ground for loosies and the backline.

    Real rugby boots

You're allowed to wear soccer boots for a rugby match. I've worn Umbros for years. Rugby specific boots are only required for the pack in my opinion.

    Real rugby boots

You can keep your synthetic rubbish, Umbro Specialis all the way for Firm Ground dominance for 6 thru 15.

    Getting Better

Your responisibilities will vary a bit depending upon which centre position you're playing, the region you're paying in and your coach's general approach to the game . For the 2nd 5(Inside center), you'll generally be required to crash ball(break lines and create openings for the center...

    Getting Better

    1) Wing- Watch your depth when ur team has possession. On defense, look for overlaps and don't be afraid to shout 'shift left' or 'shift right'. Possibly most important on defense for a winger is...Stay on your wing! 2) Centre- Generally, look for gaps to penetrate so that you can facilitate...

    Any Rule Change???

Exactly. This is actually not far from how games go at lower levels but at the very top, it would be pretty difficult for fans or sponsors to swallow...as there are literally millions of dollars/pounds/euros at stake. Generally speaking, fans would rather watch a match between two teams...
