[2021 Six Nations] England vs Scotland (06/02/21)

The whining on here is spectacular! Keep it up please - your tears taste delicious! ;)

    [RWC2019][Pool A] Round 4 - Japan vs. Scotland (13/10/2019)

Congratulations Japan. Did nothing particularly fancy - triumphed by playing solid, quick, disciplined, passionate rugby. They wanted it! Good for them! Seems there's a lot of truth in the maxim that if you take care of the basics, then the result will take care of itself. As for...

    [RWC2019][Pool A] Round 4 - Japan vs. Scotland (13/10/2019)

It's not the Rules that's causing the controversy here - it's that the contingency planning surrounding the tournament seems to have been VERY weak! We know that Rugby CAN be played in Japan this weekend - we're watching a game right now! The feeling is that if there was a genuine will, then...

    [RWC2019][Pool A] Round 4 - Japan vs. Scotland (13/10/2019)

FWIW, as a Scotsman, I feel that Italy have been equally let down. It's just a tad too convenient that the sports poster-boys (NZ) get a bye, and that the hosts look likely to get a free pass to the KO stages.

    [RWC2019][Pool A] Round 4 - Japan vs. Scotland (13/10/2019)

It's been handled VERY badly. The cancelled games could be replayed at different locations on different days, and behind closed doors if public services are strapped. Folks seem to be forgetting that we're watching a game happening RIGHT NOW - seems that games CAN be played in Japan - oh, and...

[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 4: Australia vs. Scotland (18/10/2015)

Anyway... here's a wee funny for you SH guys!

[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 4: Australia vs. Scotland (18/10/2015)

Got a bit busy in here during the Aus shift, eh boys! Bit sore that your world-beaters only just scraped past the small-fry... and even then, only with the help of a wrong refereeing call? Calm down guys. Going by some of the the responses posted here overnight, you'd think that the Scots...

[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 4: Australia vs. Scotland (18/10/2015)

Cheers JomJom. They're certainly playing with higher fitness / intensity levels than I have seen before, so fingers crossed for a bright(er) future!

[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 4: Australia vs. Scotland (18/10/2015)

It's all well and good for fans of the big-hitting teams having a pop at the Scots moaning today, but they don't understand the national significance of this game! For us, it was our biggest game in years... possibly the biggest ever given how much Rugby has moved on since the early 90's. This...

[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 4: Australia vs. Scotland (18/10/2015)

So Cheika see's a bottle... Moore see's a featherweight plastic pint pot... one or two others see a Scottish team member slamming his water bottle into the ground in frustration... and no-one else apparently see's or captures footage of anything (despite there being cameras everywhere in the...

[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 4: Australia vs. Scotland (18/10/2015)

Oh there's no doubt Scotland still have much to learn... that line-out call... it still bugs me more than Jouberts brain-fart!

    The standard needs to improve.

Then feel free to debate them with me Tony and tell me how I'm wrong... ;)

[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 4: Australia vs. Scotland (18/10/2015)

They had to 'hang him out to dry' to preserve their own integrity as the call was plain wrong and had HUGE repercussions!

[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 4: Australia vs. Scotland (18/10/2015)

I still don't understand their continued insistence that the ref could not have used the TMO when their own protocols state clearly that it can. To repeat myself... The protocol... (b) A match organiser may appoint an official known as a Television Match Official (TMO) who uses technological...

    The standard needs to improve.

I think that despite Jouberts obvious brain-farts yesterday, the standard of officiating in Rugby matches is as good, if not better, than that in many other sports. Rugby is a hugely technical game played at a frenetic pace. It is to the their credit that the officials get most things right...

[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 4: Australia vs. Scotland (18/10/2015)

Also worth noting that part of this problem relates to Joubert having previous form for apparently favouring SH teams. The most obvious one that springs to mind was the final in 2011... https://www.youtube.com/78095bf1-b86b-4939-8bbf-a7dc24394e14

[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 4: Australia vs. Scotland (18/10/2015)

The 'bottle being thrown at the ref' incident... Cheika is the man who said it happened. And only Chieka. No one else has so far corroborated it, or supplied any evidence of it happening. That's in a stadium of 90,000 fans, staff, reporters, police, stewards, and 10's of thousands of...

[2015 RWC] Quarter Final 4: Australia vs. Scotland (18/10/2015)

Yes, World Rugby have been reported as saying that the ref couldn't have referred it to the TMO, but I question whether they have interpreted their own rules correctly on this occasion (it happens). The protocol... (b) A match organiser may appoint an official known as a Television Match...

[2015 Six Nations] Scotland vs Wales (Round 2)

I see Russell Finn has been cited. It was obvious there was no malice in his 'challenge'... he just screwed-up his approach / timing (he had an awful game full stop) and couldn't get out of the way. He was correctly Yellow-carded for it. End of story.... surely!? Is Rugby Union...

[2015 Six Nations] Scotland vs Wales (Round 2)

Agreed... it was one of the few critical decisions that the referee actually got right! He was a foot short of the line.
