[2017 Super Rugby] Round 7: Sharks vs. Jaguares (08/04/2017)

Sorry, I mixed SA1 and SA2 in my head, my thinking is the opposite of what you described. I didn't know there was a rule that forced the 3-1 split.

[2017 Super Rugby] Round 7: Sharks vs. Jaguares (08/04/2017)

There's a very high likelyhood of there being no wild cards from Aus and SA1 conference. This means that there is a chance of 2 wildcards in NZ and 2 in SA2. I grant that 3 NZ and 1 SA2 is probably the most likely possibility, but I wouldn't rule out the 2-2 split. I kinda like in these cases...

[2017 Super Rugby] Round 7: Sharks vs. Jaguares (08/04/2017)

I think there's a chance that both these teams end up in the playoffs, but there's also a big chance that they end up fighting for one spot. If that is true, then this the sort of match that Sharks can't afford to lose. So I agree a bit with Cruz Del Sur, if Sharks win, specially if they get no...

    2016 Olympic Games, Rio

My point was only that it is not an "american view it differently" thing, but it has to do with the actual state of each sport worldwide. I guess you could take basketball out of the olympics... I would argue that for most players that are there (IE: Those not from the US) winning a medal is a...

    2016 Olympic Games, Rio

So you are saying that winning an olympic medal is so important for them that they give out an effort they are not willing to give in the Grand Slams... I wonder why that is... - - - Updated - - - The point is that a line has been crossed, and it needs to be dealt with somehow. SAying that...

    2016 Olympic Games, Rio

Thing is, in the US they play these sports that are secondary elsewhere in the world, only basketball is somewhat popular in Europe, American Football and Baseball are almost non existant elsewhere. So you come to a point where 19 of the 20 best players in the world of a sport play for the US...

    2016 Olympic Games, Rio

The point is that there's actually been punching and fighting.

    2016 Olympic Games, Rio

I think that the pinnacle is the tournament every top player is willing to give up the most to win. Most top players (Federer excluded) will only have three oportunities at most in their lifetime to compete with chances at an olympic event, and that's why they want to win it so badly.

Nadal, regarding his wrist injury: "It is how it is. It needs more time. If this wasn't the Olympic Games then I would not be here competing." http://www.sport24.co.za/OtherSport/Olympics2016/nadal-calls-time-on-wrist-injury-talk-20160808 Djokovic, regarding his first round defeat: “No...

[2016 Super Rugby] Hurricanes vs. Jaguares (Round 7) 09/04/2016

Indeed, that's probably the source of Jaguares' (the user, not the team) confusion.

That was funny, but I think GU is more like Goo in Google than Gu in Gus.

[2016 Super Rugby] Sharks vs. Jaguares (Round 2) 05/03/2016

I think there's three main differences: 1 - The players are near their family, sleep in a place they know and are comfortable, instead of an Hotel 2 - The crowd pressure, and that is something that can swing both ways 3 - The travel times for the away team. In this case, Chiefs will play...

    Radical Super Rugby proposal

Any change needs to make sense from a sport perspective and from a bussiness perspective. I think cutting South Africa loose doesn't make sense from a sport perspective. Also Argentina is going to be pretty upset at effectively doubling most of their trips. I think setting up a second...

[2016 Super Rugby] Sharks vs. Jaguares (Round 2) 05/03/2016

The question is, who will take the field, the Jaguares that lost 24-3 with several moments of severe lack of discipline, or the Jaguares that won 31-9 with several moments of offensive brilliance?

Argentina Super Rugby Team 2016 - Los Jaguares

It has been stated very clearly that Fernandez Lobbe, Ayerza and Imhoff would not be eligible for Pumas. Hernandez actually signed for Jaguares. This is probably the only down side from the Jaguares for the Pumas: the top tier playing minutes for Pumas players will be limited to the Jaguares...

Argentina Super Rugby Team 2016 - Los Jaguares

UAR has declined the option to use CASI's stadium. Source: http://www.uar.com.ar/noticias/noticias.asp?idinfo=4383 Also, Senatore has signed to play for 2016 and 2017 Jaguares.

As a rugby fan, what/who do you look forward to over the next 4 years?

I mostly follow the Pumas only, and try to see some other international rugby matches here and there, so I am very excited to have the SR franchise to see rugby all year long :)

    Favourite match so far?

As a fan, Argentina v Ireland :) As a neutral: Samoa v Scotland.

An open letter to World Rugby.

First, it is not "inevitable". The player who throws the pass is expected to throw the ball paralell to himself, or towards the back. So depending on relative speeds, the ball may or may not be traveling forward in relation to the ground. Second, the position of the receiving player in relation...
