Best Number 8 in World Rugby

I think you are right. Based on most recent form I'd take heaslip or vunipola. But Read has the pedigree and I've always been a big fan of picamoles. And...I think faletau has the potential to play both battering ram and link man. I've not seen him recently but he is one of the few world class...

    Australia vs England - 3 Tests - June 2016

I really want to see a farrell-slade tuilagi midfield. Perhaps ford for farrell if he can recover from Hodgsonitis.

Maro Itoje - the greatest rugby player of all time, is he there already?

The irony is that because of how well he has played the thread has moved from obvious hyperbole to a point where some are taking it seriously!

[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 5: France vs. England (19/03/2016)

Did someome say care was better at box kicking?! Its a weakness in his game which I'll admit is surprising given he looks like a footballer who has been on the protein shakes...

[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 4: England vs. Wales (12/03/2016)

I like edwards but this is laughable. He's defending himself because defensively wales were all over the shop, particularly on the short side. The missed tackles stats for the backs make for horror reading. England weren't at their best in defence either to be fair, evidenced by the build up...

[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 4: England vs. Wales (12/03/2016)

The set piece will be so vital and hence the surprise that charteris isn't in the starting line up. Itoje and kruis look a real nuisance on opposition ball and i expect the welsh lineout to come under pressure. The scrum is anyones guess. They all cheat and its a case of the style of the ref...

[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 4: England vs. Wales (12/03/2016)

Interesting. I disagree with around half of those calls. Just shows you its all about opinions at the end of day and like something else i won't mention, everybody has one...

[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 4: Ireland vs. Italy (12/03/2016)

No i think that is a fair reflection, although his teams had always shown a bit of weakness in the big games (thinking cardiff and paris in the 6N). Ireland played alright last weekend but really lacked in forward power and that meant they were always behind the gainline. Half backs and centres...

[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 4: England vs. Wales (12/03/2016)

Just shows how important EJ thinks Manu is. He'll likely come on at 12 - but for ford or farrell?

[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 4: England vs. Wales (12/03/2016)

Agree on jd2 he's superb, as is Roberts imo. I do think both G Davies and Biggar are a bit overrated though. Biggar suits gatlands plan but i think he struggles to fire a backline. And I'd take brown over williams as Williams looks a bit injured. Fully fit and in form there's not much to choose..

[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 4: England vs. Wales (12/03/2016)

Getting excited for this one early. Wales have a very settled and confident side built around some outstanding players. Still some areas of weakness/false strength. England are growing as a team, have a supremely powerful pack right now and some real pace and precision in the backs. Some...

Refs. haven't a clue about Scrums?

Thanks. That analysis was definitely comprehensive. There are rules there and refs and touch judges should follow them. I still think penalties are the right sanction for most of these offences. They're deliberate foul play. I do like that refs are starting to demand that the ball is used once...

Maro Itoje - the greatest rugby player of all time, is he there already?

Can't wait to see itoje line up against Jones. AWJ is the best lock in the NH and if Maro can compete or outshine him we can get a little excited.

    A Political Thread

Of course its totally possible for this to be about both quality and cost. The research suggests that quality needs to improve at the weekend. To do that more doctors are needed at those times. The current contract would make that unaffordable therefore the govt is trying to change it. There...

    England Post-WC discussion

I was thinking more that he could be amazing and needs to grow up a little and work on certain aspects of his game. I think he's been consistently v good for england when fit.
