i need help. Half back on defence

So I found this for U8 to U11 rugby in NZ. If your son is U11 or below then he would have been offside for advancing past the centre mark of the scrum before the ball was played. SCRUM The side throwing the ball in to the scrum wins the ball, i.e. no contest and no pushing. The opposing team...

i need help. Half back on defence

Not sure about NZ, but in the UK there are different regulations on this for each age group up to adult. Some say you cant move past the centre line of the scrum, some say the 9 must be allowed to pass the ball away from the base of the scrum.

    Aviva Premiership - Round 3

You're not legally allowed to do it at all! You can only ruck the ball, if you can't see the ball (which he couldn't) how can he justifiably have claimed he was rucking the ball? .......and I am a Tigers fan.

How does the penalty try work?

Erm....not quite. You get 5 points for the Try, then another 2 for the conversion, 7 in total. If the kicker misses the conversion then you just get 5 points instead of 7. One thing to note from a scoring point of view is that a Penalty Try isn't accredited to any particular player, it is just...

How does the penalty try work?

Penalty try. A penalty try is awarded if a try would probably have been scored but for foul play by the defending team. A penalty try is awarded if a try would probably have been scored in a better position but for foul play by the defending team. A penalty try is awarded between the goal...

    Best Match Day Pubs...?

Surely in rugby there are no "home" and "away" pubs? We all share and all get on. Best pub I have found is Teague's Bar at Gloucester. Proper rugby pub......and I don't even support Gloucester!

What happens when the scrum-half takes too long?

He doesn't have 5 seconds from when it becomes available. He has 5 seconds from when the ref says use it. And that 5 seconds is counted by the ref, not the players, the crowd, or the commentators.

    (Q on) conversion

A conversion kick can be taken anywhere in line with where the try was scored. How far back they go us entirely up to the kicker, as long as they stay in line with where the try was scored.

How do you get a list of contact details for South West England Rugby Clubs?

Each CB or Referees Society will have this information. If you know which area or county you are looking for, their CB or Society websites should provide this information.

    When is an advantage given?

You seem to have missed my paragraph (below), which basically says what you have above? The types of advantage a referee is looking for, before he decides if advantage is over it not, are tactical and territorial. The amount of advantage he is looking for depends on whether he is playing...

    When is an advantage given?

Partially correct Cooky. The two types of advantage are "tactical" or "territorial". Tactical advantage is the ability to play the ball as you wish. For instance, while playing advantage a team passes the ball back to their 10, who under no pressure whatsoever decides to kick down field. He...
