    A Political Thread pt. 2

Its fine, if as has happened many times there aren't gag order attached. Too often settlements are used to hush people up.

I write that diatribe every time as well.

    Smoking

My point was the argument against personal freedom is there are already mitigations in law that prevent banning.

    Smoking

But smoking indoors in a public space is banned and has been for ages.

    Smoking

Way way way too slippery a slope for that one. Ban skin cancer treatments for those who sunbathe too much? What about weight related illnesses? Having been through the trauma of a family member dying through alcohol related illness and the fact we already deny them even being on the transplant...

Because she's a grifter. And will say whatever is required to keep the gift going.

What TV Show's are you watching/looking forward to?

I enjoyed it (played 3 and New Vegas) and so did wife (has no clue whats going on) episode 1 that is. The gore is exactly right level of hilariously over the top. I like how they haven't explained whats really gone on in Vaults for newbies and the specifics for those who know.

Agreed entirely with a fair amount of that, and my comment was more broad and intended to say don't treat intersex and trans issues as the same thing. Much like intersex which has a broad range of conditions and treatments I'm sure trans does as well but definitely less well understood.

There a difference between great investigative journalism ala partygate where it was quite clear and the journalist had fathered all the dirt and knew exactly what had happened. Receipts and all. Or beergate where it's just smeering hoping the mud sticks.

    A Political Thread pt. 2

Why? That's pretty much what happened with beergate being investigated many times over. Despite there being no wrong doing.

    The technology thread

Let everyone wear bear foot. The cat is out of the bag in terms of carbon fibre shoes a bit like swimsuits way back. My thing 'new tech' should be approved by governing bodies they shouldn't be retroactively banning them. The bigger issue is top end Amateur level. The trainers have half the...

Reading the Secret Barriters books, there is none it drives the criminal justice system loopy. There are sometimes when its required like when upskirting in public was not covered under voyuerism in the sexual offenses act in these cases it really just requires an amendment to existing law, as...

Waste if time legislation this stuff always is. Assault is a offence the victim shouldn't matter.

One is a mostly physiological condition the other is a mostly mental that is treated through physiological means. They should not be treated as the same.

What @Which Tyler said the issue is a group of people see trans women as a man in a dress. What isn't taken into account is transisitioning definitely puts them at a disadvantage to men. The issue definitely seams to male puberty and the advantages it entails and that is where sports are...

Even though he really shouldn't be mentioned we go back to the Oscar Pistorious case about whether he should be able to complete with able bodied athletes or not. The blades gave him an advantage it terms of energy expended per stride was less than a standard athlete. As such he was banned for a...

    Antisocial, societal issues thread

I'm of the opinion sports scientists should be the ones doing the research and presenting the evidence to governing bodies. Which to be fair to most governing bodies is what they've been doing with a few knee jerks here and there. Everyone else should be keeping thier noses out. Including ex...

Taken from other thread I haven't told you anything you can continue adding wealth to a transphobic bigot if you wish. That's on your conscience not mine. I stopped buying Orson Scott Card's books nearly two decades ago for being a homophobe. Was too young to a stance on Lovercraft (who died...

    A Political Thread pt. 2

3 days into the legislation so it's really hard to judge it yet. Not helped by a transphoic bigot using her platform to try to prove a point by stomping on a small marginalised group and causing a significant % of those 300p reports I'd imagine. (Should note I've got not issue with her saying...
