    The RWC CHAMPIONS gloating thread

McCaw is a great sportsman as well. There have been plenty of times where he has acknowledged the opposition. Granted they are the usual stock standard phrases like "we knew they were going to throw everything at us" and "full credit to them" but maybe that's just in our identity; we aren't a...

    Post-RWC All Blacks Team?

In my opinion it's best to start them early. We have a whole 4 years to play with. If they're going to make mistakes and whatever they may as well get it out of the way nice and early so we can watch them grow. We also need to see what they bring to the table at that level. Next years Super...

[2015 RWC] Final: New Zealand vs. Australia (31/10/2015)

Yeah, go take your back handed compliment and shove it. There were more than enough times where Australia got away with things. Having a man in the sin bin for 10 minutes surely would have made a difference, which we both know the Wallabies deserved. Being allowed to get away with it? Mate, you...

    Post-RWC All Blacks Team?

Isn't Kaino like 30? It's not that I don't rate him, I just reckon we should get started early on some of the other young flankers. I definitely think there is a place for experience, but let's not make the mistake England did after they won the World Cup and become Dad's Army. As for that other...

    Post-RWC All Blacks Team?

    1) Joe Moody 2) Dane Coles 3) Owen Franks 4) Sam Whitelock 5) Brodie Rettallick 6) Akira Ioane 7) Sam Cane 8) Kieran Read (c) 9) Aaron Smith 10) Aaron Cruden 11) Julian Savea 12) George Moala 13) Ryan Crotty 14) Waisake Naholo 15) Ben Smith I'm not saying that's the midfield...

[2015 RWC] Final: New Zealand vs. Australia (31/10/2015)

Yeah I know you like Todd, and I agree on him. He has the make for international rugby imo. But nobody was going to push McCaw out of the team while he was around though. McCaw's form since the last WC hasn't always been ground breaking (i.e: ball handling skills), but his leadership, experience...

[2015 RWC] Final: New Zealand vs. Australia (31/10/2015)

I don't get the anti-Cane sentiment. Sure, he ain't McCaw, and never has come close to being that. Btw, isn't he like 23? He's probably more of a quiet work horse than that, but he definitely works. To me he's a bit better in the tight player and would probably be more well grounded than a guy...

[2015 RWC] Final: New Zealand vs. Australia (31/10/2015)

That can also work against you though. In 2007 one of the gripes was, aside from playing stupid ariel ping-pong with the French, was that we were undercooked with an overly easy pool. We dropped a few passes in our pool games this year which is schoolboy error stuff, but we were also holding...

[2015 RWC] Final: New Zealand vs. Australia (31/10/2015)

Lol let him talk to himself mate. He's clearly just a parasite. World Cups always bring out a few of those. So happy for our guys, and pure admiration for the way Australia fought back. So typical of the Aussies in any sport really, they never lay down and die.

Kevin Mealamu also deserves a special mention of course. Hasn't featured as prominently in the starting 15 over the last few years with the rise of Dane Coles, but his service has been immense too.

[2015 RWC] Final: New Zealand vs. Australia (31/10/2015)

Sometimes it just happens that way I guess. The Crusaders also sang about Reuben Thorne years ago, but it's not like he was the only senior guy in the squad either.

    Fantasy Rugger - TRF pool/League

Finished up at 13th. Not a bad comeback considering I was at 36th! The knockout stages really helped.

[2015 RWC] Final: New Zealand vs. Australia (31/10/2015)

Swings in roundabouts matey. Australia had a gigantic call go in their favor against Scotland AND should have had a man in the sin bin in this game. We won fair and square. End of discussion.

[2015 RWC] Final: New Zealand vs. Australia (31/10/2015)

Very, very stoked!!! Firstly, congratulations to Australia. Your second half comeback was nail biting and a real ripper. As for the All Blacks - what to say? Just elated. Dan Carter and Ma'a Nonu in particular; just incredible. Well done boys. Well bloody done. I just hope we don't get streads...

So do they start playing at 4 pm UK time, or is that just the time the hype starts?

[2015 RWC] Semi Final 2: Australia vs. Argentina (25/10/2015)

These days? You'd have to say Pocock. It would have been a more interesting question if Pocock was around at this level in about 06.

    Who will win the RWC

Yeah. Well there are a lot of people on this forum who don't understand rugby, so more fool them. I certainly never said that.

    Who will win the RWC

I can't remember remember who I picked for the final, but I definitely thought you'd top your pool. Wallabies have come a long way for sure :)

[2015 RWC] Final: New Zealand vs. Australia (31/10/2015)

South Africa are our biggest rugby rivalry. Always have been. In most other sports, and a close second in rugby, sure you could say Australia because of the trans Tasman thing.
