    [MegaThread] RFU Top Flight Future

I am the son of a school cleaner who went to school in a valleys comprehensive. I am also a former officer with a masters degree from LSE . So again you're misguided. You are deluded if you think there isn't a class bias holding back professional rugby....it's literally the basis of the sport...

    [MegaThread] RFU Top Flight Future

Literally judges, public school people and high end officers throughout the RFU. Jeeesus! The denial is strong. Simon Massie-Taylor (Wellington College) Nigel Gillingham - RAF Officer Jeff Blakett judge and Navy Commodore. Brigadier James Cook I don't know which schools they went to, but I...

Of course they are Toffs, this denial is what causes the issue.

    [MegaThread] RFU Top Flight Future

Is a part of the problem that the RFL (in general) is run by Toffs. Now, I'm not about to start a class war here, but when you come from a wealthy and inherited wealth background the consequences of overspending aren't really borne. Money always seems to find its way to you.

We Need To Talk About Wasps

Hopefully this will also mean a return to London, or at least nearby. Missing the chance to play at Brentford because of the Coventry debacle has killed the club for now. It's clearly time for the leagues to merge to save professional rugby. Unfortunately it wont happen.

[RWC2019][The Final] England vs. South Africa (02/11/2019)

England believed they had won it after the semi. They do it in most sports and so regularly that hubris has become a part of the national identity. Never has a country been so inclined to drink its own bathwater.

    Trouble in Wales?

The Valleys are home to around 30% of the population and it is far less diverse (including in terms of sports) than Cardiff. Not that that is relevant to my point, it just shows yours is asinine.

    Trouble in Wales?

You clearly have zero understanding of the Valleys (or Welsh rugby for that matter) and your arguments are all based on the franchise system and how great it should be (it clearly isn't). Going back is not an option, I haven't once said that we can or should. The mistakes have been made, but...

    Trouble in Wales?

We have literally chosen the path you are spruiking and its gone to rat ****. Hence this thread. Those defending the regions in a thread about how its not working are really trying. I don't know if keeping clubs and letting them build (like the football where Cardiff, Swansea and Newport have...

    Trouble in Wales?

As opposed to the rampant Dragons eh! You genuinely think that with the professionalism the clubs wouldn't have erm professionalised?? The regions were/are meaningless, Ospreys is not the Welsh equivalent of Ulster ffs.

    Trouble in Wales?

They weren't them enough though. They shouldn't have changed it, we ended up with the worst of both worlds. Anyway no point arguing about the past. It seems now that there wont be another change. I'm glad as an NW team would be a disaster.

    Trouble in Wales?

It is all built on sand as the current troubles are proving.

    Trouble in Wales?

We should have had 5 big clubs, not 5 regions is my main issue there. Keep the history and continuity instead of the stupid branding. Too late now of course. Not liking the Blues as a Ponty fan is very different to having a new franchise such as the Opsreys disbanded in favour of a strong...

    Trouble in Wales?

How was any of it possible? How did we get to this **** state whilst selling the soul of Welsh rugby? This reset is the chance to fix the mistakes, not make more. Going back to club wont happen of course, but mergers need to be done properly creating new entities with identities covering the...

    Trouble in Wales?

They never should have created the bloody regions in the first place! The top Welsh (and Scots) clubs should have joined with the English clubs to create a Super League, with teams like Ponty, Neath, Pontypool and Ebbw Vale able to be promoted through the pyramid. Newport, Swansea, Cardiff and...
