    Ball sizes

Only just spotted this thread, funnily enough I’ve often thought the same recently - surely a slightly slimmer/shorter ball will help the game? It just looks a bit too big (as a spectator) and probably doesn’t help the smaller, faster backs with handling skills

    W6N 2024

Good result for Scotland, were made to work for it but once the second try was in things loosened up a bit. Italy had a solid defence by and large, I get the tactic of Thompson kicking through but Orr and the back 3 are quick and could have been given a chance to run at them.

    W6N 2024

I watched Scotland/France live on iPlayer as well not a problem. Progress for the Scottish team there as mentioned, seemed like they were quite well pinned back in their half a lot of the time but decent defence and France unable to string it all together kept a respectable score line all told...

    W6N 2024

Hope the Scottish gals have a good game tomorrow, France will be a big test to see where they really are. Confidence is with them from recent results, step up in opposition but I really want them to have a good go.

TRF 2024 Player of the Tournament

Le Garrec was handy too for France once they picked him

[2024 Six Nations] Wales vs Italy - 16/03/24

True the first French one was just superb, the build up was slicker than the finish but still awesome.

    Scotland 6 Nations squad 2024

That's interesting, combination of getting stuck on the floor and also not winning turnovers? Will need to look up each matches stats.

[2024 Six Nations] Wales vs Italy - 16/03/24

Contender for the tournament IMO, just a thing of beauty

[2024 Six Nations] Ireland vs Scotland - 16/03/24

100% and even if it was a feeder team to Ed and Glas with young guys coming up through and older guys on the way back down it all helps develop players and grow the pool.

[2024 Six Nations] Ireland vs Scotland - 16/03/24

There was noises about a Northern team as well. Cotter got us out of the doldrums eventually but was very measured. Admittedly Gregor has access to players now that Vern didn’t necessarily. only caught bits of the second half but Scotland seemed to have restored a bit of respect in a game...

[2024 Six Nations] Ireland vs Scotland - 16/03/24

Pretty much in agreement with this, it's crazy how one non-try try against France and a very robust Italy have prevented a solid shout at 2nd place for Scotland this year. Allowing for the population and size of the game up here (comparing to Wales for an example), yes we have some imported...

[2024 Six Nations] Ireland vs Scotland - 16/03/24

This And History says from a Scotland point of view he has got us over the hoodoos of Twickenham, Stade and Principality one way or another. Gregor has evolved and changed his methods and staff with moderate improvement, whether he can do it again until the contract ends I don’t know...

Who do you you most want to beat in the 6n?

Me neither but you would get to feel a little smug about our Southers being better than their (lesser mentioned!!) ones

[2024 Six Nations] Ireland vs Scotland - 16/03/24

Trying to remember the last time I saw McDowell, think he's not bad from memory but not seen for a while - opportunity to show what he can do I hope. Does seem like Fione Huipolotou is the middle 3 that gets Scotland's back 3 scoring, Sione is a big loss and a capable player. Kinda bored with...

[2024 Six Nations] Ireland vs Scotland - 16/03/24

If no one can state the bleeding obvious and the ones who can influence it don't make the changes, there is something very wrong (applies to any team sport)

[2024 Six Nations] Ireland vs Scotland - 16/03/24

A sore memory that one, how we couldn’t see a way to tactically pressurise them in that game is still baffling.

Who do you you most want to beat in the 6n?

I'd rather beat Ireland than anyone right now, they are now Scotland bogey team (away) by around a decade. Media and pundits still seem to think beating England is a big thing for us but not any more. I reckon England/Wales matches are a much feistier rivalry than the Calcutta cup.

[2024 Six Nations] Ireland vs Scotland - 16/03/24

Short of an early carding to the Irish and maybe a spell of follow up yellow I don't see Scotland winning this either. The best one could realistically hope for is a losing bonus point but I'd welcome more if they are offering!

[2024 Six Nations] Wales vs Italy - 16/03/24

Sorry my Taffy mates I can't help but back Italy for this one, history can be made for them finishing in a decent 3rd place.

[2024 Six Nations] Ireland vs Scotland - 16/03/24

Interesting one this, not holding much hope for Scotland as I expect a serious backlash from the Irish. Championship ***le to cling onto for Ireland and a very elusive Triple Crown for Scotland should we manage a demi-miracle.
