[2021 Rugby Championship] Round 6 South Africa v New Zealand (02/10/2021)

Currently watching the NRL Grand Final.. That's a penalty! .. Wait, that's right the NRL still allow players to compete for the ball

    [2021 Rugby Championship] Round 2 (Bledisloe 3) Australia v New Zealand (5/9/2021)

You make a good point. It makes these decisions clear. At least you know what to expect. As long as it is consistent there should be no qualms. My thoughts though, technique was questioned. It was poor, Barrett mistimed his jump that put him in that position. He overran it and ended up taking...

South Africa vs British and Irish Lions - Test 3

I believe Russell was always going to be the go to guy to up the pace. HIs injury didn't send him home plus it was made clear by Gatland that he would be in consideration for the 2nd or 3rd test. Smith was called up as a similar player to Russell.

South Africa vs British and Irish Lions - Test 3

"Russell would be kicking too." If the 6 nations test against England in 2019 is anything to go by, with Russell that game plan would only last 40mins. I like to think that half time speech went something like this.. It gets to a point where game plan is only an excuse to play...

South Africa vs British and Irish Lions - Test 2

Fair call.. Wasn't as consistently policed in the past, it has only been recent times they've drawn a line in the sand though that wasn't really my point.. More about referees making decisions based on context etc.

South Africa vs British and Irish Lions - Test 2

It's an interesting video from an analytical point of view. Would be better if both sides had the opportunity to do so. Also quite a good way for fans to review a referee's performance and understand the game a bit better. In regards to being able to make our own judgement. For me a couple of...

    Post tournament thoughts

You know what? Home record is usually better, no matter the team, no matter the grade. I was just trying to open up a point of discussion You are just narrow minded. Grow up.

    Post tournament thoughts

This is an interesting point. After 2015 they were looking good. They weren't far off a semi final then and had performed reasonably well after that. They had dominated Australia, currently on top of England in the past couple of years and some good results against the other 6 Nations teams. (No...

[RWC2019][3rd & 4th Place Playoff] New Zealand vs. Wales (01/11/2019)

Cause they don't want to act like that now.. By being nobodies it helps. Hide away from their failures?

[RWC2019][3rd & 4th Place Playoff] New Zealand vs. Wales (01/11/2019)

Are the New Zealand rugby team trying to understate their place in world rugby? It's a good move, they seem to be trying to act like we're not the best Which they aren't at the moment.. From what I have seen from the media releases they are trying to be everyday people. A world cup loss in...

[RWC2019][The Final] England vs. South Africa (02/11/2019)

Also if South Africa win they will have the best percentage of wins per tournaments played. 3 from 7 compared to New Zealand's 3 from 9.

    [RWC2019][Semi-Final 1] England vs. New Zealand (26/10/2019)

To be fair they were 50/50.. That means both could have been interpreted either way. The obstruction probably wouldn't have prevented the try. Still it was an infringement. Based on other calls in the match it was consistent. NZ got pinged for tackles off the ball that didn't affect play...

    [RWC2019][Semi-Final 1] England vs. New Zealand (26/10/2019)

So in an indirect way the French still managed to knock NZ out of the tournament?? What if they demanded their last pool match to have been played?

    [RWC2019][Quarter-Final 4] Japan vs. South Africa (20/10/2019)

Many times from Japan so this match too. If it didn't lead to a try it wouldn't have been called is my suspicion

    [RWC2019][Quarter-Final 4] Japan vs. South Africa (20/10/2019)

That's why I rate Barnes as the best I've seen this tournament

    [RWC2019][Quarter-Final 2] New Zealand vs. Ireland (19/10/2019)

Good to see NZ staying onside. Probably the only team I've seen hold the line.. I guess they haven't had to push it

    [RWC2019][Pool A] Round 4 - Japan vs. Scotland (13/10/2019)

Some classic tackling from Scotland. From the waist down, cutting them down. No risk of the high shot

[RWC2019] Typhoon Hagibis - Discussion Thread

If games are going to be cancelled in the tournament Are bonus points something that should be applied. Hypothetical speaking. Pool A is a good example. Say Japan were sitting on 15pts having picked up the maximum. But Scotland and Ireland had only 8pts from their wins. If their last games...

[RWC2019] Typhoon Hagibis - Discussion Thread

It's just not cricket! Hopefully some folk on here know that saying. It also rings true as a statement itself. The CWC has to account for rain. Matches can be be shortened. They also have a longer round robin in terms of matches played. A washout can be inconvenient and unfortunate. Still...
