[2020 Autumn Nations Cup] Ireland vs Wales (13/11/20)

Looked at score and entirely as I expected. Calamity Wayne really has to go.

[2020 Autumn Nations Cup] Ireland vs Wales (13/11/20)

With a heavy heart I have elected not to watch. Meaningless game really but I have no desire to see Ireland tear Wales a new one. It is only going to get worse folks, it is not going to "click" at some point. Judging from the lack of Welsh contributions thus far, I may not be anything like the...

[2020 Six Nations] Wales vs Scotland (31/10/20)

Need a change of coaching team.

[2020 Six Nations] Wales vs Scotland (31/10/20)

Wales under Pivac almost bewilderingly bad.

    France vs Wales - 24/10/2020

For me, the most worrying aspects remain: poor defence (15 tries conceded in last 4 games), lack of incisive attack (largely due to poor platform, due to lack of carriers) and the fact that these weaknesses ARE persisting. It suggests that the coaching staff are either unwilling or unable to...

    France vs Wales - 24/10/2020

Not sure it is extreme. I think Pivac and Hayward are way out of their depth. Gatland got the very best out of the players but I don't think the current lot can. This was a peremptory appointment to say the least, based on one fleeting season at Scarlets. At the start, even I was willing to give...

    France vs Wales - 24/10/2020

With the current coaching setup, it is all rearranging deckchairs on the ***anic. As things stand I can only see a Scotland win next week with Calamity Wayne and his gang at the helm.

    Welcome to the Pivacaust.

    France vs Wales - 24/10/2020

Please prove me wrong Wales but I have the feeling that Pivac is a disaster on wheels and this could be a year or so of Gareth Jenkinsesque results.

what was the best rugby world cup

Very rarely post on here but I like this sort of thread! Getting the subjective out of the way first. From a Welsh point of view, obviously 1987, 2011 and 2019 stand out and ( I know, I know) I genuinely feel both latter two times we could have gone on to win it. Objectively, again 1987 as...

[RWC2019][The Final] England vs. South Africa (02/11/2019)

Quinlan doesn't seem so bad- That presenter is awful.

[RWC2019][The Final] England vs. South Africa (02/11/2019)

Odd how some can construct alternative narratives that are positive for their teams and negative for others. That is the natural way of things I suppose. I do think Wales, even with their injuries (without, another counterfactul?) would have had a decent shot at England in the final and I...

[RWC2019][The Final] England vs. South Africa (02/11/2019)

Some interesting talk of what ifs earlier. Us historians call them "counterfactuals" and they are often great fun but the problem is for every alternative thread you explore, others will often open up. For all that it is always tempting to indulge in them and we should all be forgiven for doing...

    [RWC2019][Semi-Final 2] Wales vs. South Africa (27/10/2019)

Would love to be proven wrong but fear SA will be too strong. A game too far?

    [RWC2019][Quarter-Final 3] Wales vs. France (20/10/2019)

As does yours! Ah, it was all a bit without warning wasn't it? Wonder if there are any other ex SV posters on here...

    [RWC2019][Quarter-Final 3] Wales vs. France (20/10/2019)

Yes, I was on SV too - under the name of Buglet. Really miss it and find Gwlad a bit up itself.

    [RWC2019][Quarter-Final 2] New Zealand vs. Ireland (19/10/2019)

Didn't know about Joe's mum, that is sad and it must be difficult to consider work as a distraction or a chore after that. He has been Ireland's best coach. ABs looked ominously good and they will take a lot of beating now. They are able to play at such destructive pace and keep skill levels high.

    [RWC2019][Quarter-Final 1] England vs. Australia (19/10/2019)

Very good from England, especially in defence, but struggling to understand Australia's tactics. Reckless from own 22.
