G'day everyone

Recently we created an organisation, 1tier Rugby, that aims to develop rugby in 2nd or 3rd tier nations (as classified by the IRB), as well as using the sport as a tool to encourage healthy and active lives in disadvantaged communities. Our outreach works on a one-to-one basis: for every rugby ball purchased, a second ball is donated to a developing rugby club or community.

In our relatively short existence we have already sent balls to the Reho Falcons RFC in Namibia as well as the Lanzarote Rugby Club in the Canary Islands. Our next shipment is likely to be to Cyprus, a nation which has only officially been playing rugby for 7 years, and despite little or no publicity, have a better win/loss ratio than the national football side.

However in order to help these developing nations, we require the wider rugby community's support. So as mentioned before we sell rugby balls, and for each one purchased, a second is donated. However I write on this forum, not just to promote 1tier Rugby, but to get feedback from all of you. What do you think of the premise? How can we improve? And what further strategies do you think we should look at in order to develop rugby globally?

Check out our website (www.1tierrugby.com) for more information about us, and there you can see the ball that we sell. We also offer customised balls for clubs, schools and companies that are interested in supporting the cause on a larger scale. The balls themselves are of a high quality and can certainly rival the similar priced balls from the established brands.

Anyway I hope you can provide us with some feedback, and if you are interested, please think about purchasing your next rugby ball from us, and helping a developing club or community in the process. Otherwise any support such as liking us on Facebook or following us on Twitter is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Tim
