Not feeling that confident from a New Zealand point of view ... looks like the same squad as last week - hopefully the toughness of the pool will be what we need to get some good results.

My other team (Canada), looks like the squad has a few injuries :(

... still, from a fan's prospective, there's been some pretty good rugby played last weekend - hopefully it will continue this week

Freak accident there with the Fijian player knocking himself out with his own shoulder o_O

We should at least make the final with the run we have now.

Well, it's a 'Rugby Championship' Semi Final setup and you have Argentina who is arguably the least of these 4 sides though both Argentina and Aussie are looking menacing of late.

I've also been impressed with Scotland and the USA but both these teams need 1 more out-and-out sprinter or stepper with some pace to finish IMO to have better balance to their overall squad, maybe even if they bring in the speedster(s) only with 3/4 minutes to go against tiring opposition.

Poorish attendance on Day 1 and glad to see it has pidked up for the final day but a note to the organizers; you'll have a full Cape Town stadium both days if we can get the tournament. Garuanteed. I mean, I'm sure a full 1/4 if not more of those current attendees are Capetonians who were bothered enough to drive the 5 hours to PE.

I was surprised by the poor attendance. Could you tell me the attendance of the 1st and 2nd days?
And I have a question about the Independent State of Samoa and American Samoa. Is there any movement for reunification of these 2 country/region for a single independent Samoa?

Yeah I don't know why they moved it from George to PE. This time of year I can understand that it should be hosted at a coastal city with us Vaalies all migrating to the beaches. Cape Town or Durban makes a lot more sense than PE!!

But nonetheless, it was still a great spectacle. And I'm stoked that we now won 2 tournaments in a row! I hope we'll be able to keep the momentum up in the new year. It was truly a great Sunday for South Africa.
@sigesige00 - How many times are you going to get away with this crap!! stop making comments about something that is not part of the topic at hand. What does the Independant state of Samoa have to do with the 7's tournament in Port Elizabeth???

The standings after three rounds of the Sevens World Series are:
1. South Africa 59
2. Fiji 51
3. New Zealand 47
4. Australia 46
5. Argentina 40
6. England 37
7. Samoa 29
8. Scotland 27
9. USA 26
10. Wales 25

Good result for the Blitzbokke. A good mix of individual skill, outright pace, doggedness in defence and taking the ball into contact seeing us home to defend out home ***le and move a ways away in the lead. But the series is only 1/3 done so can't affrod to rest easy with the likes of NZ, Fiji and Aus ready to pounce.

PE leg dream 7 as voted by the media:

Kwagga Smith (SA) - DJ Forbes (NZ) - Sam Dickson (Aus)
Cecil Afrika (SA)
Seabelo Senatla (SA) - Werner Kok (SA) - Pama Fou (AUS)

I can't disagree with any of these nominations. That Pama Fou is some ball carrier, maybe the Wallabies should look at him for one of the wings?

It probably makes a lot more sense to host it in Cape Town but as a local I'm certainly not complaining. I was there for both days and there is a general tendency to leave the stadium when the Bokke aren't on, because of the large down time between games. Second day attendance was decent especially during the final.

We all know it's political as to why PE has it.

As for this weekend it was absolutely awesome, I'd say this is the strongest blitzbokke team we've had in a while, Kok, Kwagga and Senatla in particular were amazing. USA were also very good and I think they may have a good chance in Los Vegas. Fiji and NZ don't seem quite as consistent this season but I'm sure they'll come right. Samoa was woeful.

I can't wait to see if ARG can get good enough to compete with the Bokkes and all those superhumans.

Seabelo Senatla is out of this world, man.
