[2018 Super Rugby] Semi-Finals: 28 July 2018

That Lions vs Tah's game was pretty awesome for the first 60 mins... Kwagga Smith and Marx were just brilliant. Even though I think it's unlikely I'd like to see the lions finally win a final next week.

Crusaders down to Taylor as hooker and a rookie who has only played 6 mins before for the Saders to come off the bench. Taufua is also out after breaking his arm.

So what about that try by Aphiwe Dyanthi? solo effort, 80m out, chip-chase and the goose step outside to score and bring the Lions level with the Tahs. That was absolutely brilliant and reminded me a bit of Bryan Habana

That pace was unbelievable, the step on Foley was absolute magic but the acceleration was the winner for me. Just amazing! What a try

By the way, how poor was Jantjies? apart from that cross-kick he was extremely dire. Missing kicks at goal, and to touch. And then they get a penalty in front of goal, and then instead of going for goal or a lineout, he taps the ball and in then end lose territory back to their own 22. And don't get me started on his defending, so many missed tackles, and that slip he does everytime he covers the wing is just embarrassing to watch.

Terrible. Appaling stuff. Infuriating to watch, and i don't even care if the lions win or lose.

I am convinced a guy like du preez (arguably not even top 3 in RSA) would be better for the lions.

He has A LOT to prove in Christchurch, I'm a bit surprised that Rassie appears to be backing him as second choice still, after his comments after third England test I was sure he would've at least had Rob Jr. or similar in the training camp.
Thanks!
I am going to watch USA v Scotland and then this one. I appreciate it!
You're most welcome. I hope it doesn't disappoint, enjoy!

Screw that guy.

The cross kick wasn't good though, it came when the tahs were just flinging it about in their own half and the game was already decided.

I don't think Jantjies is the second choice though.

Du Preez just isn't the choice Rassie was hoping for. But Damian Willemse is in the training squad for the RC, so maybe he'll serve as the new second choice.

What Rassie has made clear though is that he wants several players to be ready in specialist positions like flyhalf. And there are still the rumours that Pat Lambie and Johan Goosen will feature in Rassie's plans at some stage before the World Cup

I do think Rassie is going to give Elton a chance, I think he wants to see if he can draw out the best from Elton in important games, after all judging him based on the AC tenure is a little unfair. If he is given a few more chances though and doesn't perform I think he'll give up and move to other options.

Rassie doesn't have a lot of time though, and the England series didn't really help Elton's cause to cement that position. But I think this RC will be Elton's last call saloon.
