2023-2024 transfers

I like this spin by Dai.
"Jack is another very promising tight-head," said director of rugby Dai Young.
"He is a solid scrummager but with big game involvement.

Big game being the Uni championship and a sub spot in the LV cup final 3 years ago.

Happy to see Toomaga-Allen confirmed to Wasps next season https://www.wasps.co.uk/news/wasps-sign-all-black-tighthead-toomaga-allen/

Gutted to see Will Stuart leaving though https://www.wasps.co.uk/news/stuart-to-leave-wasps-in-summer/
Likely headed to Bath and they're just not ready to announce yet

Finally, we've also signed Jack Owlett from Chiefs https://www.wasps.co.uk/news/wasps-sign-exeter-prop-owlett/
Not seen him play but good news by all acocunts.

So that's two tightheads out and two new ones in. Now here's hoping that Kieran Brookes sticks around..
Has Kieran Brooke's been that good for wasps?

He means he's very active around the field....

Definitely a punt but JCW came from a similar level back in 2013 and look where he is now (Sale lol)

JJ extends his stay at Bath.
Absolutely delighted with that. I'd just about come to terms with his inevitable departure for £££; but would far rather keep hold of him (at a decent wedge)

Andrew Davidson now confirmed going to Glasgow.

Are we just getting rid of our entire set of locks!!!

Wow ... the only one I have heard of heading to Falcons is Ollie Atkins and that's currently just a rumour. That's a massive turnover in one position and must be a real frustration given that the lineout has been a key part of Falcons' armoury in the past few seasons.

Alex Dunbar from Glasgow to Newcastle on loan. Explanations anyone??? I'm so far out of step with Rennie and Townsend on Dunbar being frozen out. He is limited in attack but is really dependable and physical in defence and I credit him as much for recent Scottish success as flashier players like Huw & Hogg. His main rival, Peter Horne, is a valuable utility player at club level, but he isn't anything more than that.

I'd have loved Dunbar at Edinburgh too and would have thought he'd have had a chance of game time there. He has gone from Scotland mainstay to complete reject - I can only assume he hasn't recovered well from his last injury. This has sizeable implications for Glasgow and Scotland from my perspective. Both will concede more points without him.

Kitchener confirmed to Worcester.

Tigers slowly starting to chop it's pack.
Williams
Kitchener

Rumoured off
O'Connor
Fitzgerald
Evans
Mapapalangi
Cortes

Mark Jennings taking a sabattical from the sport to try and get over his injuries,
Been incredibly unlucky with them - believe he's broken his hand and his foot getting trodden on in a ruck in the past
His main injuries are ruptured biceps though, done both of them and had to have one replaced with an Achilles tendon
Did one of them for a 2nd time and has to give up sport/training until it's 100% because if it goes wrong he'll lose full use of the arm.

In the last 4 years he's managed about half a season of game time.

Sam Peters trying to spin it like Sale are the bad guys but he was promptly shot down by Jenno and called a bellend by George Nott

Paid for with Strettle and Bosch retiring and Taylor retiring or leaving, apparently he's been promised regular game time at 13....
I mean 13 is his his favoured and arguably best position but if he wants his england spot he needs to be a full back regularly. Or least a wing. Unless he will play the 80 covering multiple positions on field

Very tough for Jennings. I've always bought of him as a very solid Premiership player. The injuries have really curtailed his development though.
