2023-2024 transfers

Toby salmon, im kind of glad he's gone, he never inspired much faith in him, and with skinner hill as first choices, we can develop josh Caulfield and mold will witty.
He'll be an interesting one to watch.

He's a really big unit, very powerful and he's got an insane turn of speed. The biggest criticism the falcons fans had, was that he didnt seem to be able to use his power and speed enough. He should be a huge carrier, and really be a powerhouse in the tight exchanges.

Ill be interested to see if you can really bring that out of him. If you can, you'll have a monster in the engine room.

Johnny Leota retires from pro rugby and takes up a player liaison role at Sale

Edit:

Sale leavers confirmed:

Leota (Sale FC), Odogwu, Ostrikov (Grenoble), Bristow, Flynn, Tarus (Zebre)

Bristow would be a good pickup as a solid squad player. Would've like to have kept him, but we're investing time into our new russian prop so he's barely played

Zebre making some potentially canny moves this year

I don't think Caufield will ever really be a Prem lock. He's only 6'4, you can get away with that in the Prem but really you want guys in the row to be 6'5+, especially in a team like the Chiefs. He's mostly played at 6 for the Pirates and the Braves, I'd imagine that's where he'll be seen mostly going forward.

I'm disappointed to see Salmon leave, he didn't get all that much game time but when he did he was impressive. Hell of a ball carrier. I hope to see him do well at Newcastle.

Sorry if that's a bit big.

Three starting fly-halves, our best 9, our best back-line player and probably one of the best ever 7s gone. Fully expect Australia to drop to the bottom of the top 10 in the coming years.

Tom Griffiths: Saracens > Dragons.

Welsh qualified too apparently.

Tigers sign Johnny McPhilllips from Ulster and Joe Thomas from a NZ club.

Former Irish U20 (Thought EQP) and Wales U20
McPhillips is a talented guy but he's been frozen out at Ulster this season and it was hardly going to get better for him with Johnstone (who was ahead of him at U20 level) arriving. It's a pity but without wanting to be too harsh it probably isn't a massive blow for the Irish talent pool, Carbery, Johnstone, Lowry and both Byrne brothers are all probably more talented 10s.

It's still annoying that a player as average as Billy Burns is forcing players out of the country though.
