Stadio Olimpico, Rome

Thought Italy looked good at times against the French with ball in hand.
Scotland have been masters at how not to score tries.
Think for Neutral could be game of the weekend with a high scoring mistake ridden feast Scotland to shade it in high scoring match pushing 60 points overall.

Italy really need to target this one as Scotland can't be high on confidence.

Wouldn't be incredibly shocked either way, obviously expect an Scotland win but could be interesting if Italy get their tails up.

If Scotland lose this one, I don't know where Townsend turns next. It's a must win and I think they'll do it.

it's weird for me to tell but it's surely the match where I have the least "certitudes" (certainties ? sorry, not sure of the right word in english).
If I based my judgement on what they show in the last year, and in the last 2 6N match especially, I would go for Scotland which is stronger in all sectors of the game. BUT, because there's always a "but" (especially for French, specialist of "exceptions" ;) ), Scotland hasn't shown they were particularly efficient, a contrario, Italians, after a catastrophic (and severe) defeat over Welsh, they have shown great things over France and put some nive tries into the same defense which had pinned down numerous english attacks.
The fact to play at home is very important for Latins, especially the most latin one, Italy. Sometimes when you play at home, with your Heart, it's a bit pitch and toss... if italians were to combine Heart, brain and efficiency as like over France, they would have a true advantage.
For Scotland, it asks only efficiency as they have a better team than Azzuris, but I don't see it clenching all the game, just by moemnts, and I'm afraid it won't be sufficient.

I would go for an italian victory, a very close one, less than 5. but scottish can win this one too.

This could be very bad for the Scots. They're the only nation not to score a try this Six Nation thus far, and the coach is feuding with their best player. If they go down in Rome, it will either signal very dark times indeed, or, perhaps, will lead to parting ways with Townsend, and perhaps a new birth with a new leader and the return of Finn?... God, it feels terrible to be thinking this way.

Scotland haven't beaten England since 2018, and haven't beaten Ireland or Wales since 2017. Italy will know this is their biggest chance. The crowd will be immense. But I still gotta hold out hope for my guys... gimme Scotland by 3!

Scotland: Hogg (capt); Maitland, Harris, Johnson, Kinghorn; Hastings, Price; Sutherland, McInally, Fagerson, Cummings, Toolis, Ritchie, Watson, Bradbury.

Replacements: Brown, Dell, Nel, Gilchrist, Fagerson, Horne, Hutchinson, McGuigan

A change in the centres isn't unreasonable, but I have no idea why Harris is coming in instead of Hutchinson.

Totally agree there, I am not happy on what happens to scottish rugby... they weren't that bad over ireland, AND or BUT, they SHOULD have won it. They have had many opportunities. it's the same over England, but it's even worse, I have found that Scottish have played even wronger and at a lower level against England.

I would like them to win too. But I think that Italy is needing more a victory... I'm fearing the Home unions and France could think of firing them from 6N... I think we should more reflect on a relegation system, but not a direct one, a two match (home / away) agains the second league winner... I am prettry sure that the wooden spoon of the 6N has all guns to beat the second league winner. and even if it's too easy for the wooden spoon, it will promote rugby in the second league teams, it should give lots of motivation to have the opportunity to play a top 15 team...

I feel Italy need to win this one to silence their critics. Would love to see Italy cut loose and put on a big score. Will they? Don't think so.

Haining is a loss for Scotland, not sure what's gone on there. McInally back in is an upgrade. Sadly think Scotland will have plenty in the bank to bury Italy, but they've looked erratic so I'm going for an unconvincing Scotland win (score could flatter depending on confidence).

Time for Stuart Hogg's annual game where he plays half decent and all the Scots rave about how he's world class, most overrated player in international rugby imo, always bang average only ever seems to turn up agains the Italians

I think Hogg is pretty good, he's not very likable endearing to the outsider.

I am failing to see what Bradbury brings over Haining and his impressive first outings at international level.

He's so bad, that's why he won player of the championship twice in the last 5 years is it?

Sorry, that was meant to be a reply to Chris Walker

It's a sad day for Scotland when they struggle against Italy and can't place a ball over the try line.

Scotland still can't keep their composure when they have opportunities.

Italy do a lot right then lose the ball under no real pressure or get smashed in a scrum.

Anyone got a live stats link? Be interesting to see.
