I know injuries have forced Borthwicks hands and if we had a 12 option I'd have preferred to see Farrell at 10. But Smith looks like he's playing alot more relaxed than he ever did in the Jones era.

Can't afford to drop those 4 points at this level. Farrell not at the races so far.

Basically all square, seems about right IMO. Remember two missed conversions that could have skewed things further.

I don't rate Smith as an international 10. For all his threat he can't build an attack, and generally takes the ball on too flat.

With age he will mature further. Got to remember Ireland's 10 is very very very mature.
