England's pack is currently better and has superior depth with the likes of Baxter who was in beast mode against France. If they give Fin Smith the platform and he picks up where he left off against France then I expect England to win by 5-10. The main things that could hinder England are poor tactics, a failure to adapt tactics or on field brain farts.

Scotland have problems at lock and are missing Cummings as much as they are Tuipolotu. Gray and Gilchrist are too powder puff & lack grunt and the prop replacements are a big step down from ZFagerson and Schoeman.

Any news on Russell? A few outlets have said he might not be able to play.

If Russell doesn't play I think it'll be a comfortable England win. If he does then I think tight England win.

Technically Russell passed his HIA so could return but as he struggled to remember certain things they might well be treating him like he failed which would rule him out.

A combined team for me had Scotland edging it in the backs. England in the forwards Scotlands backrow is decent as well.

Still the loss of ST and possibly Russell would be a blow.

England's D out wide can be a tad iffy. Hopefully the wheels finaly come off the Sturgeon battle bus also known as - Duhan van der Merwe. He might have fun running at who ever is fullback during he has is annual Braveheart reenactment.

England by 5.

"Darcy Graham and Finn Russell have remained in the squad. Both have been progressing through the World Rugby concussion protocols since the Ireland game with a view to returning to full training before the end of the week."
Which doesn't necessarily mean "hoping to be able to play this weekend"

England love leaving too much space out wide and Scotland love going wide quickly. I'd hope we learned from previous years but we'll have to see
Nah DVM will continue to live freely in the mind of Englands Defense, he is a talent but bloody hell do England make him look better than he is.

It's a mandatory 12 days out for Graham who was diagnosed with a concussion. Which means no activity until Friday.

This is the game where we see if we are really starting to turn a corner, because if we are, we should win by 10-12 points. Scotland, despite all the usual bluff and bluster that always surrounds them before a 6 Nations, have been very mediocre so far. They were middling against Italy and then just absolute yuck against Ireland. With the injuries they have it would be embarrassing if we didn't win this at home. 5 defeats in a row against Scotland would just be pathetic, full stop. We need to give them a pasting as payback for the last few years of garbage in this fixture.

The referee for this weekend is Pierre Brousset, a bit of an unknown quantity. He's only reffed 4 tier 1 games, incl one six nations (Ire v Ita 2024)

Full lineup:

Referee: Pierre Brousset (FFR)
Assistant Referee 1: Andrew Brace (IRFU)
Assistant Referee 2: Luc Ramos (FFR)
TMO: Tual Trainini (FFR)
FPRO: Quinton Immelman (SARU)

I want Scotland to win, but I think England will be victorious in this match.
